I need to get the memo out to Mother Nature. I am done with winter. I can no longer tolerate freezing everytime I go outside. I would like to leave the house without coats, hats, scarves. etc. So I have decided that I am done. I would like some nice spring weather now so I can start walking in the mornings and actually playing in our yard with the kids. There. Now that the memo has been sent I expect to wake up to a balmy 65 degrees tomorrow.

:wizard:

She started winter too early this year. It's only February, so technically, it should still be cold, but since she started winter in early November, this one has just lasted FOREVER!

Mainer here. I opened my garage door today to snow as deep as my waist. I spent the morning shoveling. DH was going to take me out to lunch but 2 trailer trucks were jackknifed across the road so we couldn't get to town, and the one restaurant in our own town was closed. We had frozen pizza.

Me too. I've been done since Halloween actually - we got our first major snowfall a few days before Halloween. 17 inches. :headache:
I want spring so bad, my knee replacement can't take this cold anymore.

where do I sign the memo? SO done here too...my DS has had it, his usual "done with school" attitude that hits around late April...it's here now. Doesn't help that my DD goes to college in Sarasota...gotts tell you, her frame of mind is WAY better than the rest of the family is...I am a true believer in climate affecting mental health, FOR SURE!

In the words of Lou Grant...

"I HATE snow! I don't like its color. I don't like it's shape. I don't like its temperature! Or how it feels when you walk on it! I don't like it in snowballs! Or on hills! I don't like how it feels! Or what it does! I don't like ANYTHING ABOUT IT! It's a soft, wet, white, mushing, melting, FREEZING MESS!"

And I hate just about every other winter-related thing, too.

Please blow some of your snow over to the UK or failing that I'll swap you green grass and snowdrops for a nice blanket of snow that lasts more than 2 days! Spring seems to have sprung here (sweatshirt weather) but we'd love some more snow.

Any takers? ;)

I hear you! We haven't had much snow, but cold and windy making heat run continiously last few weeks. Good sign Spring is in the air tho, my crocus are blooming, with daffodils and tulip stems popping up too. So I know there's hope around the corner! :flower3:

All the bridges in Portland were messed up today. :x This was the worst commute day this season! The ground was like a permanent rumble track on Test Track.

I don't want winter to end. I like Florida weather. There is nothing but endless sunny days and beautiful temps. In fact later this week it will be in the 80's!

Oh wait, I guess I'm not making you feel any better.
I will wish for winter to end for you just to be neighborly!:wizard:

I do know first hand having lived in Mass. and Kentucky the winters are too long and too much too handle sometimes.

I totally agree! Every time we get snow here (at DD's) they usually get twice as much up to the lake.. A friend was up there last week and said that the snowbanks alongside of my road are several feet high.. At this rate I won't be able to make the move back up to the lake until May!!

That's totally unacceptable.. I want to be out of here by the second week in April, so I'm hoping our temps will rise and March will bring a lot of rain so the snow will melt..

Actually, I was "over" winter by Christmas evening..:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh- and if it is going to snow can it at least be snow and not a wet sloppy mess because 10 seconds after the snow stops the rain comes? I swear the kids have been able to play in the snow maybe twice. Even then it was wet like a slushy. You couldn't even make a snowball or a decent snowman. What a rip off!

Send them up here.. Just with the snow piles in the front yard and back yard they could make snowmen for the next five years..

I love winter........on Christmas Day that is. After that (and before that too) forget it!
If we are going to start a petition against it I'm signing it for sure!

I'm with ya sister!! We had one nice weekend day so far, and we spent it outside the entire time - and it wasn't even THAT nice!!! I can't wait for the heat!

I've been done for over a month now. Actually, I was done before it started.

But as my dad keeps telling me "The days are longer. The sun is higher in the sky. Only about another month to go..."

Yes!!! If the kids could go outside and play in it... no problem. But it has just been REALLY cold icy and messy this winter. Enough already! It's time for SPRING!!

If anyone would like to come and camp on my lawn, you're certainly welcome to do so. Decent schools. Highs in the 60's today. The trees are leafing out, daffodils are blooming.

I'm not a perfectly happy camper here in Louisiana, but I do NOT miss New England winters. Not one bit.

You have my deepest sympathies!
