Winter Change of Plans!

Instead of being home and packing to leave tomorrow, we're still en route to home from Cape May. We had to cancel our first night at BWV for this Saturday. Luckily I was able to use the 25 holding points to invite friends to join us for some of our extended January stay.

I, for one will be so happy to retire to an area that doesn't get snow/ice as a rule.

I have a nearly 28 night exclusive DVC stay coming up, beginning on Sunday! I'll be meeting quite a few new Disboard friends during this stay!

I see this is from someone who can enjoy all of Florida's winters! Thank you. We came back to 4-6 inches of snow on our driveway, but we're home, safe and sound. Now to pack!

Just not for 28-31 nights .....(those days are still down the road for me!)

But I am still happy with my 9 nights at BWV in January during which I will also get to celebrate my birthday, and enjoy my new PAP!

We'll be at BWV for my birthday too...that's the 3rd, but I'll also be there with some friends over MLK jr weekend.

Mail just came and I got some Disney mail.

Luna Park pool will close January 2nd and reopen in early March.

'During this time we may enjoy the two leisure pools adjacent to community hall and nestled in the Rose Courtyard.'

No Stormalong Bay this time.

Not much of a problem for me as I would choose the quiet pool anyway and January is not one of my big swimming months.

Bobbi, where do you plan to retire? Every time we get a big snowfall I wish I didn't live in MN. Our driveway is so long and next to neighbor's driveway, so no place to put the snow. But all our friends and family are here <sigh> so can't pull the trigger to leave. Do you have a warm retirement place already in the works? Enjoy your LONG stay!

Someday I'd love to retire somewhere warm too!! NJ/PA are too cold!!! Yesterday it was sleeting and nasty and COLD and I once again asked hubby WHY DO WE LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST????!

What I was referring to is that when Luna Park was previously under going maintenance on one of my visits, BWV guests were allowed to use SAB. I'm unaware of what SAB's rehab schedule is.

Hi!
Thanks for all of the good wishes. We do have general plans to move to Tennessee, but will spend much of January/February in Florida. I can't balance to walk on irregular surfaces, like sand, grass, snow or slush. Yesterday kind strangers helped Tom get me from the car into rest areas on the PA turnpike. I feel so helpless in this weather.

Many friends and cousins live in the NJ, PA area where we spent most of our lives, but I've good friends here in Ohio, too. Our house in Cape May is co- owned with my sister, so we hope that it will continue to be our meeting place. On Dec 23, 18 relatives gathered there as we celebrated mom's 93rd birthday.

BWV guests can use SAB while Luna Park is closed...saw it on another thread. Someone called and asked and was told they could.

If this is really the case, Great! At 7 months, I was so tempted to change to BCV so my 2 guests at the time could experience the pool, but the point difference stopped me. I have three in SV 1 bedroom at BWV, and figured the weather may not be warm enough to swim.
