Just checked the AP site and noticed they have the new winter issue. Check it out! Fun stuff!:goodvibes

Are we non-AP passholders allowed to know what's on it? :goodvibes Please share if you're allowed! We might convert our hoppers to AP's next month, but we're out of the loop right now.

For 3TinksAndAnEeyore:

an article about how AP holders enjoy xmas at the parks.
an article about how they get ready to decorate the parks
a mention to go to the ap section of the website to get a recipe
an article about the Mr Lincoln thing
go to disneyparks.com/mobile to learn about Mobile Magic application from Verizon
give a day, get a disney day
Tiana's Showboat Jubilee mention
Disney on Ice
small interview with the guy who plays Oliver on H.Montana
advertisement about up and coming 55th anniversary merchandise
mention of AP discount on photopass merchandise, buy a giftcard, and the watch/throw deal that's been going on for awhile already
article about discounts at DTD
AP rates
article about European cruise destinations
article about World of Color

Having read them...I disagree. I haven't gotten one in the mail for almost a year now, and even though that peeves me for some silly "I feel like I paid for it (even though I know it's a perk that is not guaranteed) and I want what I feel like I paid for" reason, the articles are fluff, outdated, deals are generally almost done with (the Fall one had rates ending *before* Halloween, that had been out all summer long), and it's all just been disappointing.

This one was a tiny bit more timely, but IMO their timing is still a bit off.

I agree.
The supposed perk of an AP newsletter that never comes and the fact it lacks anything new or exciting just adds to the disappointment. :( the newsletters years ago would be somethng to look forward to and give you an edge on the news that was to come; I think they have shoveled it all over to D23.

I should probably mention that I was able to read it in PDF from the AP site. Which they seem to think is similar to getting it in the mail. It is not.

Thanks so much for sharing what was included and for your evaluation of the usefulness of the articles. :flower3: Just looking at the list, I was wishing I could read them myself! But judging by your take on what was included, probably most people who are avid readers of the DISBoards probably already know most of everything in the article?

Because it is an adobe pdf file, I always save them, if you want me to email it to you I think I can, at least I will try.... Let me know! It may not say much, but it sure is pretty to look at! :goodvibes

Oh now that's hilarious.

We just got 3 of the newsletters, one for each of us.

My AP is now expired, and hubby's and son's will be expired on the 5th or so.

Trying to tempt us, eh?:rotfl:

(the cover is awfully pretty, though a different sort of paper stock as it was in the last time we got one (about a year ago))

I got ours today too! We got one address to the "_____" Family. And we just returned from a trip today. :santa:

I haven't gotten a paper copy at all, so am hopeful one will show up :)

I'm going to agree with Bumbershoot too on this. The content of the Backstage Pass is usually fairly disappointing but I have to admit, I still get a little rush when I see it in the mailbox ;)
