***Winkers World of Food***

Hello, I'm winkers DH. Yes, I'm the husband to this wonderful person. Every once in a while she doesn't mind if I put in my two cents worth.

When I ordered the chicken salad, it looked like there wasn't very much on the menu board. The reason I only ate half of the salad was because it was LARGE. It was also very good. I also ended up saving my dessert for later. Unfortunately I did not get to eat it because one of the kids got hungry later in the week and I foolishly offered my dessert to them.

ah, the definition of parenthood!!

Ok. what dw didn't include this far is that she was repremanded for taking pictures of the food. Our cousin took the camera from her, handed it to me and stated that she was there to eat, not take pictures. He made me promise that she would not take any more pictures. I promised that SHE would not take any more pictures......................... I took the rest.

:cool1:

:rotfl2:

Cherie, I loved the pictures you posted of you and your family!! Love that your dh jumped in to add his opinion!!

Getting ready for our trip, so now I have time to read reports - and of course I start out with FOOD!! :rotfl2: We're going to try CP for the first time, but at dinner - I dont think it matters - its disney - MK!!

Now Prime time... I have made what I thought was pot roast - but that looks much better - I may have to go for that recipe and revisit pot roasts!! If I cook meat that long, I usually just throw it in a roll and call it Italian Beef!! :rotfl2:

Homemade Angelfood cake?? Oh yeah, I remember making those... way BC (Before Children!!)

Thanks for the great review and pics!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your Crystal Palace morning. :goodvibes We have an 8:15 breakfast ressie there for our trip in December and it's one of the things that I'm most excited about!

Great reviews and pics. Looking forward to the next installment. :tink:

Wow it's been over a month since I updated, sorry! The only excuse I have is, life!

On with the show................................

Thanks to horrible pain and a hair raising trip to a florida dentist I had just "tossed my cookies" onto the ground right after getting off the bus at Epcot after a day at Ak. If you want to hear more about that you can check out my tr, the links in my sig.(I know that was a shameless plug, bad winkers, bad bad!)

I was a little worried about this AR for a few reasons. Prior to my mishap it was that my boys tend to be very picky and Morrocan food isn't anything like what they're used to. I also was worried that I wouldn't be able to eat anything and enjoy what had been my favorite restraunt from my last trip.

So in preparation as I was being wheeled into world showcase I gave the kids a little pep talk and said just try everything once and don't complain and we'll all be happy. And much to my amazement they agreed! Normally that would be cause for suspicion but I was on a huge dose of drugs at this time.;)

I just have to say I LOVE the morrocan pavilion. It's probably as close as I'll get to going their in my lifetime so I just love it. And I noticed that the CM's there are gorgeous! I thought about taking pictures of them but didn't want to embarass my family.

Ok, onto the food!

D.Jay, Evan , Bailie and I all ordered the "Taste of Morroco" which consists of Harira soup, Beef Brewat Rolls, Lemon Chicken, Lamb , Couscous with 7 vegetables & Assorted Morrocan pastries.
None of us like Lamb so we were able to substitute Shish Kebab's.
Ethan & Hunter got the Kefta & ice cream. The kefta is basically a hamburger with fries. They didn't have an appetizer option so they shared with us.

This is the Harira Soup. Had I noticed that the description says it contains Lamb I never would have tried it. I'm really glad I didn't because it's delicious!! I ate all of mine and some of Bailie's! Along side it is the Beef Brewat Roll. Basically it's minced beef in pastry fried and topped with pwd sugar and cinnamon. This sounds really odd but we all loved them! Even Hunter the pickiest eater gave this 2 thumbs way up!

This is Lemon Chicken, Couscous & Shish Kebab.
I had never tried couscous before this and Loved it. It came with roasted veggies on top that were perfect. The beef melts in your mouth and the Lemon chicken was wonderfull.

Here's the Kefta. The boys didn't eat much of it because they were too busy eating our food. And there was plenty. It was served family style.

Morrocan pastries. These are heaven on a plate! They are similar to baklava. When D.Jay and I went there on our own last year he looked like he was having a "moment" unto himself when he took a bite of these!!! He really isnt' much of a dessert person like me but these made his day. And luckily they were just as good the second time around.

Here's a few more shots from our dinner. I give this place an A+! The atmosphere is wonderfull along with the live band and belly dancer. And the food is amazing. This will be one place we definatley return to.

This is how D.Jay and Hunter feel about dessert

I think this was better than S.O.A.P.

This was also the place that I might have pushed Evan a little too far by saying the belly dancer was his girlfriend. oops.:sad1:

That's ok. We really had a great time here. Yes I was suprised that the younger 2 boys enjoyed the food as much as they did. :woohoo:

I've always been wary of trying Marrakesh as I didn't think I'd like it but it looks lovely and you've made it sound really good, DH would probably like the belly dancer too :rotfl2:

I love the princesses and wasn't going to pass up the chance to eat with them even tho I have 3 boys. Some might wonder how I managed to convince boys that eating with the princesses would be fun. 4 words, all you can eat! If there's one thing my boys like, it's food and the more the better. We had a 10:40 adr which fit in perfectly since it was our day to see world showcase.

We were greated by Belle, my favorite!
100_2940.jpg

We were taken to a nice table next to a window and the kids were excited to find that they would be sipping their juice from mini wine glasses!:lmao: Of all the things that impressed them, that was it! I know, they don't get out much!

We headed over to the buffet which had a variety of pastries and cold cuts. My kids were disgusted by the fact that cold fish was served.

Here's what Evan's plate looked like................

100_2941.jpg

Everything was really good, but none of them stick out as exceptional.

We didn't have much of a wait to see the princesses. We had Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine & Mulan. They were all wonderful and since the boys had lots of food they didn't complain at all about having their pictures taken.

Here's the breakfast platter. It doesn't look like much but you can get more of what you want and it's very filling.

100_2943.jpg

Everyone's favorite was the potatoes! They are similar to something we have called funeral potatos. I can't describe them, but WOW. I think we had 3 helpings of those.

Overall we really enjoyed this breakfast. The CM's were pleasant and the interaction with the princesses was great.

WOW, I cant wait to get to the world and eat my heart out!!!!! Thanks for all the hard work putting all these reviews on here for all us food addicts!!!!

:thanks:
:cake: :drinking1 :coffee: popcorn::

Thank you for a great review. As a mom with 5 kids, I appreciate it. I have 2 picky ones and can use all the help I can get. We will not be going for a few years, but it is nice to file away. It is hard to find places that all of us like.
I will try anything and so will dh and 2 of my kids. Some of that food looks soooooooooooooooo yummy!!!

Well, just stand by, there's more to come. There's even a special moment that we all experienced at a certain ADR. :yay:

Great brekkie my only moan about American Breakfasts is you don't cook your sausages enough  :rotfl:

We had 7:20 Adrs at Rose & Crown with the hopes of getting a good table for Illuminations. We checked in about 20 minutes early and told them we wouldn't mind waiting longer for a table on the patio. After @30 minutes we were shown to our table. Which was perfect. Right next to the rail on the lower level of the balcony! I was so excited!

Since it's taken me so long to write this and my camera battery died part way throught he meal I don't remember everything, but I'll do the best I can
!

For appetizers.............................

I had the Fruit & Cheese plate with fruit from 5 counties. Now, I'm not really a conniseur of cheese nor do I enjoy stinky cheese, but I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't eat much of the cheeses. they were just a little too strong for me. Everyone tasted a little of them and thought the same as me. The candied walnuts were devine and I had to fight for them!
I don't think I would order this again, but I'm glad I gave it a try!

100_3096.jpg

D.Jay & Evan tried the Roasted mushrooms. They both said they were ok. I really like them, and ate alot of D.Jay's!

100_3095.jpg

Hunter & Ethan had the potato & leek soup. They ate a few bites. I thought it was pretty tastey. It was the first time any of us had had leeks!

Bailie & I got the Steak & Fish. The fish was to die for! The steak was good, but I didn't care for the Black & Tan sauce. Next time I'd ask for it without. The green beans were cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed our entre!

100_3097.jpg

D.Jay ordered the Roasted PorkLoin. He thought it was really good, but didn't care for the barley it was served with.

100_3098.jpg

After that picture is when the camera died!

Evan got the Bangers & Mash. He loved them!

Hunter & Ethan had the macaroni & cheese.

For dessert we all had the warm apple crumble. This was really good! Evan ate his and about 3 others!

Overall this was a great experience, with Illuminations being the highlight. I'm not sure if we would go here again, other than to try for the great seats. The service was great. And the food was good, just not amazing!

You were brave having the cheese plate, I'm with you I don't do stinky cheeses  :rotfl:

Excellent timing on the ADRs and getting the balcony:thumbsup2 Did no one get the fish and chips?

Thought I'd follow you over here to see your Food Report (a lot quicker to get caught up on this one ;)). Great job so far. You've definitely made me think about taking good pictures of the food and taking notes along the way :thumbsup2
