I am sure this will have been answered but am just going to order stateroom gifts of wine etc for our cruise. Can you also purchase wine by the bottle to drink in your cabin while on the cruise and is it more expensive.

If you plan on having wine all week on your cruise...you might want to consider one of the wine packages that DCL offers...there is a regular pkg and a premium pkg.....I don't know exactly how many bottles you get, or if you can consume them in your cabin (I know the bottles are in the dining room) but I am sure another poster who has done this will share.

I don't drink enough wine per cruise to make it worthwhile...I just have a glass or so from time to time.

We drink plenty of wine so we have gotten the wine package on each of our cruises. You can take any bottles from your package list back to your stateroom and also any unopened bottles that you have remaining from your package (up to two bottles) can also be taken home with you. The prices on board are more expensive than what you would find in the local liquor store/bottle shop, but the package does offer a discount over purchasing the bottles one by one off onboard prices.

We also brought two bottles of wine aboard with us to enjoy in our stateroom....that could be an option for you if you don't want to purchase the package....

You can see a wine list and package specifics by going to www.dcltribute.com and heading to the list of "external links" at the bottom left of the page and clicking on the "Platinum" link, then clicking on the "menus, food and drink" link.

Thank you for the information just imagine a glass of wine or two on the balcony in the evening sounds like heaven.
