I have a few family members that would like to do the wine tasting on our cruise in November and I have a few questions.

1 - What days is it on for the Western itinerary?
2 - What time do they usually hold it?
3 - What is the fee?
4 - Is it still held in Palo?
5 - How long does it usually last?

Thanks for your help.

Lisa

From what I recall (and I very well could be wrong since the last one was back in December) They are always held on at sea days. On the Western there are two at sea days and I believe they are held each day, on the Eastern I dont' recall if it was only two days or three. I think it was around 2pm or so, at that time the fee was minimul like 12.00 or 16.00 per person to taste six types of wine and a champagne. Each time I have gone it has been held in sessions ( I think that was the name) it is the nice adults only lounge with large portholes to look out of. I think it lasted about an hour to a hour and a half. My memory is not great. I really enjoyed it and even went twice on one cruise, at the end the teach you how to "knife" a bottle which is a really cool way to open champagne.

I have heard so many people talk about this that I just must see it for myself on the next cruise!

Everyone says that it's very neat.

on the Eastern last year it was on a sea day and $12. We had 3 red wines, 2 white and the champagne (which is VERY good). I believe the correct term is "swording" the bottle to open it - very cool.

It's fun, about 90 minutes and you get a slight buzz (which is a blast at 1:30 in the afternoon in my opinion). We had a great time and will definitely do it again. We did get a special pin as well.

During our Stem to Stern Wine Tasting on the Wonder in December, our hostess used a wine glass to uncork the champagne. Unfortunatey, she ended up cutting herself. :-( Ours was held in Palo and lasted about an hour. THey also had cheese, crackers and grapes on your table. Very nice!

M DH, DS and myself attended this on the 3 day Wonder. It was held at 3 pm on Nassau day. Cost was 12.00 and we received a pin. Well worth it. You just sign up for it at guest services. Ours was held at Palo, so I got to see the place everyone talks about.
"swording" the champagne bottle was AWESOME. DH and DS want to try it at home..NOT

Land and Sea,

I hope you don't mind but I looked through your photos. Very nice job!! It looks like you were in a cat. #9. Am I correct? Do you mind sharing which you deck you were on? I loved the shots taken from your stateroom window! Thanks!!

On our western last September. Wine tasting was held on both sea days. $12 per person, in one of the bars..the nice quiet one, with the big port hole windows and piano. Held around 3pm in the afternoon, lasts for one hour.

Bethipooh4 ~ Is your son over 18?

Yes hard to believe eldest DS is 21. I don't feel like I am old enough to have a 21 yr old. It was very wierd to know he can drink, and to have him order a drink or attend the wine tasting with us.

I'm sorry to be nosy. I just realized that question might have sounded a little rude.

No, No, not at all, I hope my answer didn't come off as rude. No offense. He turned 21 a week before the cruise, so everytime he ordered a drink or purchased the beer mug I did a double take. LOL In my mind he is still a baby, even though he is the eldest of 4 kids. I think I am in serious denial over his age, and mine. LOL All though I am only 42. Honestly...lol
Our server did make me feel better by carding him the first night. Then he looked at me and asked if he was mine...made me feel a little better.....
