Wine Package Questions

Thats probably our range too - $11-$15ish - sometimes even $10/bottle. The bottles we purchased onboard ran in the $45ish range. Retail I'm guessing was $15 or so? (there was a bottle of Bogle Pinot Noir selling for $30 something. I can purchase that at home for $10). So, I'm figuring I probably save about $25-$30 per bottle by bringing my own x 7 days = $175-$210. We don't pay a corkage fee since we open the bottle in our room. Not a huge sum of money, but its nice to choose what you want to bring onboard.

We drove down, so it was easy to pack the wine in a carry-on to put through the scanners.

Same here...Our favorite wine is J.Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon...though DH cannot drink red wine...this is the only one he takes chances with...so flavorful and smooth. My cruise would be a complete "Dream" if it had it on the list...LOL

Is there a copy of the wine lists for the main dinning rooms, Palo & Remy for the Dream. i saw the lists for the packages & was not impressed...I guess my recent trip to Napa has made me a bit more interested in what I am drinking. Just trying to see if I should brong my own since I will have a few days before the cruise in FL.

There is a list of the wines offered in the wine packages, you may purchase the same by the bottle.

Another "?" Can we ask for one of the bottles of wine to accompany our dinner at Remy?

When we ate at Remy on our August 2012 Fantasy cruise, we were told that we could NOT use a wine from any package, by the sommelier when we went up before dinner to pick a wine to go with our dinner. They have a Special wine list at Remy and the wines are not ones that are included in any of the packages we were told. Maybe he just wanted to upsell us on the more expensive wines, but that backfired, because we decided we didn't need any wine with our dinner.

Very good info...two different experiences...which is good we know in advance.
Will have to discuss with DH again...
:thanks:

Does anybody have a picture or link to the wine list on board? Or are they the same wines as on the package list? We would have to go with the premium package or bring our own at this rate...not impressed by the selection. :(

Though I bet I can find a rum punch to my liking!! :cool1:

Thanks for the wine package lists but I guess I am more intersted in.what other wines if any they offer..it seams like Remy has "other" wines.and if they are what I like i will plan on going there day one & getting some.for the trip.Just trying to plan as the packages do not interest me.

It's the same as on the list. After speaking with DH, we decided to bring our own. But I'm not carrying a glass to dinner, lol

The wines on the wine list are a subset of the wines offered on board. You will find different wine lists are available in places like Palo (and I assume Remy) and we even found different wines on the lists at some of the bars.

Sorry...don't have any pics or a list of the others though. I know one was Evolution which we loved but we could only get it at the bars.
