Wine & Dine?

Has anyone added this option to their DDP and what did you think? Does it offer any kind of value? Are the wine selections decent? (We're not wine snobs by any means, but we know a good red when we taste one!)

Any opinions are appreciated!

Pixie -

When I have asked about this, I haven't gotten any reponse - made me feel like a wino!

This was a great thread.:rotfl: Sorry, I can't help you out, but if it's any consideration, I don't think a wino would care if the wines were decent or not.

When I was looking at adding this, I ultimately decided it wouldn't be a good option. The fact that you have to buy a bottle of wine (instead of buying glasses) means that you'll always need to try to find something matching everyones meal. Also when you have to buy by the bottle, you either have to drink everything at the table or take the remaining with you (not great if you have after dinner plans). Finally, since most of the wines at any of the Signature resturants cost 2 credits you may not get your full set of evenings bottles.

I'd much rather they had given the option so that it covered 2 glasses per person per day for say an extra $10/person.

I know I also always look at the wino threads... :lmao:

I have noticed that the CM's are great at pouring a glass, and Disney is great at pricing wines - if a bottle is $40 - you will get 4 $10 glasses out of it! I was amazed - but they're good...

based on the wine lists I've looked at - I found that the wine and dine plan could cost more than a bottle of wine per day :confused3

So dh gets his white wine, and I get my red!!

We looked into this, but it turned out not to be worth it for us. We would rather order a few glasses, cause sometimes we want different things and sometimes, we just don't want a full bottle. So, we decided against it and will order by the glass instead.

Well, my husband and I did do the wine and dine for our 2008 trip and LOVED it. We found that we did save $$ while using this option. We found the choices of wine to be pretty good and we are not wine snobbs by any stretch of the imagination. So, IMO go with what you feel comfortable with.

...you'll always need to try to find something matching everyones meal...

This is what stopped me -- it sounded like a GREAT idea, until I remembered that I'm a "white" and the other two going w/ me are "reds." And, candidly, sometimes we'd rather have hard liquor as a cocktail, rather than (or, should I say, "in addition to"?!) wine with dinner... so I'm planning to use Reward Dollars for any boozing we decide to do...
