We are going to be using the DXDP on our next trip. We are thinking about adding the Wine and Dine option. We always order wine with our dinner and sometimes with lunch, depending on where we are eating. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and do they like it. Also did you find the choices on the list to be worth it.

Either no one has done this or we are the only 2 people that like to drink wine on vacation. I am probably going to go with it, it seems like a good deal for us. I will let you know........

Please report back if you do try it! This question comes up fairly often and I've asked it myself in the past, but there never seem to be any responses from folks who have actually tried the plan.

We are wine lovers, but IMO it is not worth it. The plan gives you one bottle per each night of your stay at an additional $40 per night. You can't order just a glass with lunch or dinner. You have to order the whole bottle. And, if you dine at a signature restaurant and use the plan they deduct 2 wine credits.

We are bringing our own and so we can have a glass while we are getting ready for dinner.

When I read about the wines on the list there seems to be 2 categories. Some of the wines will cost you 1 credit and some will cost you 2 depending on the wine that you choose. I don't think it goes by what restaurant you are eating in.

You're correct. On the restaurant's wine list it denotes how many 'wine credits' a bottle uses, and on the signature restaurants list, there were options for both one and two credits.

I've thought about getting the plan but decided against it. We don't want a bottle of wine every night, sometimes I prefer a cocktail and a glass of wine, or DH wants a beer etc. If they had a plan where you got an alcoholic drink of your choice, I would most definitely buy that add on!

That would be my concern. I'd like to know if there's enough choices & they're priced high enough to make the W&D add-on financially feasible. We don't subscribe to the "booking DDP to have things paid for in advance" philosophy. It has to be a good value for us to limit ourselves to a package of any kind.

I personally don't think $40 a night is worth it. (For awhile there I thought it cost $30 a night - that might have been worth it - but once I found out it was $40, forget it. The really good wines that are even available are going to cost 2 credits or $80 a bottle! Better off buying myself a glass of that sort of wine.)

Well I have decided to give it a try. I will let you know how it goes and if it was worth it. We will be there the the 25th to the 2nd. We are eating at the following places: Yaghtsmen Steak House, Flying Fish, France, Italy, Brown Derby, Citrios's and Jiko's. We always order wine with dinner. The wine usually runs us between 50.00 and 80.00 a bottle. From the list that I saw on the web site I'm sure we will be able to have something that we like. The prices seem to be around the price range that we order from. There was a Simi wine on the list on the side of the 1 credit. I know that it can run around 80.00. When we get back I'll let you know........

when we go for food and wine in 2010 with the inlaws, it would make sense as there are 4 adults, we will see! With 2 of us, on the last trip, we stuck to cocktails and beer!

You are correct....My husband & I used it last year & we loved it. Mind you, we are wine drinkers, and you can get some pretty good wine for the $40 allotment.:goodvibes

Finally someone who has tried this plan. I'm glad to hear that you did like it. We are also Wine drinkers and are looking forward to giving the plan a try. After looking at the sample list, I'm sure we will either come out even or maybe a little ahead.

I drink wine, my husband doesn't. How much do they charge by the glass for a decent quality white? Also, do they have 1/2 litres? Thanks...:flower1:
