Wine Bar George Questions

I know this place is pretty new but my wife and I love our wine so we really want to try it. We are on the DDP and I know this is part of it. I have a few questions for anyone that has been there.

1. What price do they allow you to go up to for a glass of wine on the DDP? I see that some of the glasses are pretty pricey and I doubt that they let you get a $40 glass of wine for each person on the DDP.

2. I read in a review that they work with you on the DDP since they really only have four entrees which are meant for two people and they will let you create your own small plates dinner by choosing a few of the small plate options. Has anyone done this and do you know what they allow you to get price wise?

3. The skirt steak dinner for two looks really good to us but I read that it comes out medium rare which is a little too under cooked for my wife and I. We prefer medium to medium well and the review said they were not asked how they wanted it cooked. Do they let you change it or is it one of those places where the chef gets insulted if you order it cooked longer than he intended?

4. I see that they have lunch specials now that are in the $12 to $18 range. Are these items eligible for a quick service credit?

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help with this info.

I'd also love to know if anyone else has experience with these exact questions :)

The Basket At Wine Bar George will accept DDP quick service credits. The Basket is separate from the main restaurant and has a separate menu.

The main restaurant is a table service. So the advertised lunch menu would have to be available at the Basket to be able to use a quick service credit for it.

From what I understand alcoholic beverages on DDP are generally about $16 or under. It is extremely doubtful that any wine on the menu will be available.

I am confused, because when I look up wine bar george it does say it takes DDP and it lists 1 for quick service credit for lunch and dinner. So does that mean that some of the menu can be only quick service too? I love the DDP and have all my TS meals planned but QS are up in the air. We have reservations for this in December and if i can get a sandwich and wine for a qs i might plan on going there more often!

No. It means the Basket area takes quick service credits. The main restaurant does not take quick service credits. The Basket sells sandwiches and wine but has a different menu from the main restaurant. I was there only once but I'm not really clear on where the seating is for the Basket or whether they have any seating at all for purchases from The Basket. It's advertised as a picnic kind of place.

It's basically a window on the side of the restaurant.

Do you know if the Steak and Fries for $17 at lunch is available at The Basket? I saw it in a Tim Tracker video a few days ago but they ate it in the restaurant.

Screenshot of the menu for the Basket, steak and fries are not on it. Because the Basket is basically just a window, my guess is that if they were seated inside the restaurant, their meal was not from the Basket.

If that steak and fries is on the newly advertised lunch menu, one will have to ask while there whether it is available at the Basket, because I haven't seen anything that says it is or it isn't. their menu is strictly sandwiches and boxes of things like cheeses and meats.

All glasses of wine listed on the Basket menu are $15 and under so they are probably all available on DDP.

Thanks for the info. It is hard to find information about dining here since most people think it is just a bar but the reviews I saw are all very positive for the food

it's not just a bar. The centerpiece is a large bar...but they also operate as a full service restaurant. Their food menu is not extensive, at least not with entrees, there are quite a few appetizer-size offerings to choose from since their intent was to be more of a tapas bar. There weren't a lot of tables downstairs but they have an upstairs loft area too.

I had a dish of meatballs that was $14. They were tasty.

I don't use DDP but I did see where The Basket is.
