Do they sell Wine at KV? I am sure they do. How big are the bottles? Just wanted to buy some before the cruise and don't have to worrry about flying with them.

It's been almost a year since I set foot in Johari Treasures at Kidani Village, but I recall a selection of wines, including South African wines. The bottles were the standard 750 ml (approx. 25 oz) wine bottles

The Zawadi Marketplace at AKL also sells wine.

The prices are resort prices, not discount prices, but that should still be better than restaurant prices.

Also, a good place to buy wine at WDW is Epcot, especially during the Food & WIne Festival. Even at other times of the year, you can buy tastes and full bottles in World Showcase shops.

Yes, they sell wine, its behind the counter! It was my first stop after the parks! Loved sitting on the balcony with a glass of Red!

thanks. We leave in 6 days so I am going to scope out the prices and then make a choice before our Jan cruise.

I was going to suggest going to the F&W Festival marketplace for a larger selection, but if you're not cruising until January, that won't work for you (unless you have an OL?)

When we were at AKV Kidani in December, they carried most (but not all) the same wines as Zawadi Marketplace at AKL. From a past trip, we were looking for a couple bottles of a particular wine we remembered. We ended up having to go over to Zawadi Marketplace to get them.

Will they let you bring wine onto the ship? I remember seeing a TV special about cruises(not Disney) and they said they take all of the alcohol brought onto the ship (ie duty free) and hold it until after the cruise because they make more money if you buy on the ship. Not sure if Disney does this because we didn't bring wine with us but I would make sure first before you buy it.

Yes. DCL allows it.

If you want wine in your stateroom, and if it's convenient for you to buy some wine before you board the ship, then it's worth doing. You can save some money and buy wines that you like. You can get empty wine glasses from your stateroom host/hostess or from a bar.

If you bring your own wine bottle to a dining room, they will charge you a corkage fee ($15 + 15% automatic gratuity = $17.25). It doesn't matter if the bottle has a cork or a screw top because it's not a charge for pulling the cork; it's a charge for being served the wine in a dining room (and to make up for the lost profit on wine sales).

In the dining rooms, I'd rather pair a wine from the wine list with the dinner I'm ordering.

There are two reasons that you may want to bring your own wine to a dining room and pay the corkage fee. The main reason would be if you want a particular wine that's not on the wine list. (Perhaps you always celebrate your anniversary with the wine that you had on your wedding day.) Also, for very expensive wine, you can save some money, even with the corkage fee.

The real reason you might want to bring wine onboard is so that you can drink some wine in your stateroom. Imagine relaxing on your verandah (or even in your inside stateroom) in the late afternoon with a glass of your favorite wine.

Don't forget to bring a cork screw! It'd be no fun to have the wine and then not be able to open it in your stateroom.:sad1: Been there done that!!!

Bon Voyage!
