Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

Getting ready to head down as well. Still have an after party ticket for sale that I will be bringing if anyone is looking.

Landed in MCO! So happy

I didn't bring shirts with me as use rD but.. just realized that they might be long sleeve and the weather will be warm for it… sooo… I have to shop at the expo.. disneystores.. Uniqlo..? :))
Yep shirts for November & January are historically long sleeve (idk if that will change or not when they inevitably swap to brooks)

I can only really speak for myself (but it's pretty safe to say that this covers most of us Floridians), but I now have a whole bunch of participant shirts that I can rarely wear. I wish that they gave the option of short sleeve or long sleeve. Truth be told, there is enough time to order both short sleeve and long sleeve shirts respectively.

Yes! That's a great idea.

I don’t wear any from recent years because I find them to fit so poorly and feel so uncomfortable, but I do wear older long sleeves a lot as a Floridian in winter! I’ve got a solid few months every year in which it’s long sleeves every run. I’ve kept exactly zero race short sleeves, though: if it’s warm enough for bare arms, it’s also too warm for me to wear that fabric - I much prefer something lighter.

The long sleeves make great throwaways for slightly cool race mornings, though, when a light extra layer feels good while waiting but you know you won’t want the extra layer for long into the race.

I’m a fellow Floridian and my sister has only ever done wine & dine and is excited to get a couple short sleeve race shirts in April

I disagree. I use my old race shirts to wear in the parks, since I don’t own anything else that’s Disney themed. The long sleeves are great during summer where I don’t have to worry about sunburn on my arms or sweating through my clothes. They’re a tech material, so if I get wet, the shirt dries quickly. Honestly, there’s no clothing in Florida in July that can make the weather not seem insanely hot. If you look at a lot of the fishing shirts sold now, they’re essentially the same as the long-sleeved running shirts.

Also, if you were a true a Floridian, a simple long-sleeved shirt would not be enough for you during the winter. Everyone knows that when the temperature drops below 70, the Canada Goose parkas and wool hats come out.

I'm from CA and much much much prefer long sleeves. I think they tend to look better as you don't have to worry about the arm cut (some from a few years ago were really weird). I wear them all the time in the heat so as to not have to put on sunscreen as PP mentioned. I just wish they'd mix in a white or off white one at some point. Tired of all the weird colors. My theory is that they ask for what the supplier has the most left-over fabric of and do that, LOL.

Maybe I’m minority but I like the rD shirts :)

Hard to anticipate and address everyone’s individual preferences but still I think behind each detail being decided for the races there are cast members putting their heart out trying to do their best

To add to the bib data (sorry, work has had me slammed since I'm out after today for the rest of the week):

5K - 406xx (under 8:00 estimated)
Challenge - 220xx (2:27 half POT submitted)

After my plans being quite up in the air. We are now confirmed and will be at the HH meet at 2pm on Saturday. We might be crying as the PSU vrs OSU game is at noon. DH has the struggle he is an Ohio native but got his MBA from PSU. We root for PSU.
