Wine and Dine 2015

There should be a direct route between your resort and WWoS.:)
I'm so glad resort staff took the time to create paper instructions that are vague and/or misleading.
It's sounds like you have the disney running thing in correct perspective. Good job at maximizing fun! I'm living, vicariously, through your reports. Thank-you.

We hit the expo yesterday around 3:30-4 and merchandise was pretty much gone. No I Did It Shirts in my size sadly and no wine glasses. I didn't see any ornaments either. I got a magnet & DH got his hat. I got a Sparkle Skirt but they didn't have the one I really wanted in my size so I may go back this morning as they were bringing more. Our plan was to sleep in but I'm wide awake! Ugh... Wish I could sleep as well as my husband!

I only meant to maybe buy one sparkle skirt and ended up with 2. :o A month ago I had zero skirts, now I have 4. :o

I'm sorry to hear the official merchandise was sold out so much later yesterday! It was really not too bad early but I had to go back over there after the terrible commemorative line to get my shirt and gear bag, and the line for the merch was a zoo. I had thought it was bad earlier when I was in it but I was "only" zigzagging through the ropes actually in the merch area. When I went back, the line was out the walled area, all around the perimeter of the walled part and all the way back to the 5K shirt pickup area.

I still can't tell if the half shirt is blue or black. :) I think it's black... but it's got a bluish tinge to it. I was a little surprised at the gear bag. Just one little clif bar in it, and some safety pins I was happy to notice after I panicked and realized I didn't pack any and forgot to check to see if there were any at the pickup. I guess we do get the after party and everything, though, so maybe that's why there were not more goodies in there. :)

That's all I've ever gotten in any of my gear bags at any Disney race weekend. I think it's the norm sadly.

Enjoy reading everyone experience as I think I want to run this one next year! Good Luck all!

So far sleep is evading me - woke up at 8:30 after staying up late until 1:30 to get on schedule here. I will keep trying for the next hour, then give up and have breakfast in the marketplace before I have FP at MK.

It feels so strange, all this leading up to today. And now it's here!

It look blue to me. DH says I have that eyesight thing where you can see a million colors and it definitely looks blue to me. Very very dark but blue. That is how the merch line was when I went too and why I bailed. So there was one more large I did it shirt than there would have been. Maybe rundisney will sell them online after. (Probably not but wouldn't that be nice) or at the after party. That would make them even MORE money! Ha!

I am SO glad you mentioned the safety pins as I absolutely forgot to pack those and would have panicked later tonight

DH and I cancelled all our plans for today and are just going to take it easy lounging around the resort. We might go for a little drive to view the highway parts of the course. Kinda a tradition for me that started when I used to go offsite to get subway for a pre-race meal. I want to stop at downtown disney or springs or whatever it's called but DH said I made him promise to not let me walk too much so he's resisting. Such a good hubby! :)

Update - there was just a symphony of what sounded like large metal pipes being thrown at the ground outside our FOURTH floor room. So loud it sounded like it was ON our balcony.

This followed by housekeeping or someone at the hotel going in and out of the rooms around us from 7:30-9 am yesterday. Usually every 30-60 seconds (yes I timed it) so I'd hear the door closing/slamming since they are so heavy. And the guy at the desk late last night essentially told me it wasn't CM's and sent me on my way. (It kind of sounds like I can hear someone upstairs right now, like a tile floor, so maybe a service area is upstairs and that is the issue)

Pretty not happy with the BC at the moment!!!!

Ok, rant over.

At Tink we got a little mesh backpack and I think a couple more snacks. Don't really care about the snacks but I thought maybe the backpack was normal. :)

We weren't planning on buying anything but ended up spending over $200. DW had to get the NB Minnie shoe. Picked up a sweat band for DD to wear for dance and a 13.1 Wine and dine magnet. Really no wait at all, although it seems to be getting busier. Heading to the Polynesian for breakfast, maybe walk around Disney Springs then back to resort to relax and take a nap. About 12 hours away, good luck everyone!

I'm no having noise issues thanks to the end of the world room I'm in but I too have some issues with the BC. A little more food offering in the marketplace would be nice (a plain turkey sandwich or chicken sandwich would be nice) but my biggest issue is that my curtains won't shut. Thankfully DH came a day late an was able to pack some chip bag clips and we managed to sleep til 9 today! Yesterday, also, the ihome alarm went off at 6am thanks to the previous occupant. I also don't love the thick pillow top beds they have been putting in the deluxe resorts lately. I cannot get comfortable. But I know these aren't really problem problems, just little things that I will keep in mind. For some reason my last two wine and dines at the boardwalk villas this didnt seem to be as big an issue.

Rant away, it's cathartic. One year at all star sports it sounded like somone was clogging around in sabot. It was real race sabo-tage.

No one really gets much sleep for these things. It's too exciting.

Congrats to all of those who ran Jingle Jungle 5K!

I saw runDisney used a animated screen for the start line for the first time. I wonder if they will continue to do that.

The screen was cute! The race was fine - hot, but fine. I don't think I'll do this one again until construction is finished. The third mile (switchback backstage by the retention pond) was bright, hot and pretty brutal. Thankfully there were some cute character photo ops!

We met Mickey and Minnie at the end of their race in Holiday attire, though, and that made the whole race worth it.

Thanks guys - I got a manager and she is going to move out room when we get back. We are going to MK for a couple of hours with our FP, and she gave us 3 more :) at least that will save my legs!

Sitting in the KT tape line. Got here first thing this AM and had them tape my arch, knee on the right and my back bc my SI joint flared up this AM. Total wait was less than 20 minutes start to finish.

Walked around and noticed the L side was getting jealous and so decided to go back through the line. Been in line almost an hour and not even half way through the queue.

I bought two rolls of tape, so if I get up there and they won't tape what I want I will flip. They are taping one thing free, anything more they ask that you buy a roll; which is fair.

Lesson for next year? Tape everything you can think of and on both sides even if you don't think you'll need it. And go here first. Lol

@mbwhitti and I survived the Jingle Jungle 5K! And by survive, I mean it really felt like we were running in the jungle.

Had a delicious brunch at Boma and now I'm off to dive in the pool and rehydrate by osmosis (that works, right?) and rest up for tonight!

I'm rehydrating with a Peak Organic IPA. Does long distance osmosis work? If so, I'll have another one for you.
