Wine and Dine 2015

Saw this addition to Food and Wine. Think it will be going during the after party? I love some good cheese and wine!

Along the walkway toward Future World West, the new Artistry of Wine & Cheese festival area will feature the Cheese Studio (offering a cheese sampler served on an artist’s palette to pair with wines) and the Wine Studio with premium wines on tap – each keg keeps the wine super fresh and holds the equivalent of 26 bottles, eliminating bottle, cork, cardboard and paper waste. Bottles, corks and materials from other marketplaces are recycled.

Ugh. I'm having the hardest time coming up with a costume I feel excited about.

I know it's dumb, but I've thought about doing Figment and I'm still kinda "meh" about it. I thought Remy would be fun, but not fun enough that I'm thinking about what the costume would need.

Such costume malaise. This feels weird.

I'm doing Cheshire Cat. Not much of a "costume", but I have the Cheshire Cat shirt from RawThreads, which I'll pair with a Sparkle Skirt, some pink compression socks and possibly a fun headband.

I thought about both Figment and Remy. The colors for Remy just aren't fun/distinctive enough for me, and I wasn't sure how to do Figment without getting a little crazy with accessories. But Figment is one of my absolute favorite characters, so I am super supportive of you doing a Figment costume. :)

That's the problem with Figment! I just can't figure out how to do it without having to wear a WHOLE bunch of things, and I certainly don't want to run 13 miles wearing everything I think I would need.

Then I thought about a villain since it's still close enough to Halloween, but then again ... nah.

Maybe I'll go as the Paper Boy from Spaceship Earth.

Your talk about planning costumes and not knowing what to do is exactly why I have no plans to wear one. It's great for those that want to, but I know I'll have just as much fun at the race even if I'm not in costume. :) For me personally, the most exciting/biggest reason why I want to do a runDisney event is for the atmosphere, running through the parks, and just being in my favorite place. I'm nervous about doing a half marathon, but overall really excited about this experience!!

My daughter is trying to convince me to do Piglet. So just a pink striped running top and a pink skirt. Maybe pink compression socks. Sounds easy enough, lol.

So, my DH flew home from NC last night and I got him to look at my squeeling treadmill. He found the problem right away, but we will have to order the part. In the meantime, it is temporarily fixed with a couple of washers and some hot pink duct tape. :) We shall see how well that holds up tonight when I do my last night's run, lol!

I'll be running as Spiderman - I threw it together for Everest and it went over quite well, so I might as well stick with it!

Spiderman sounds like a great costume! Fun, visible, and easily recognizable :)

:wave2:Subscribing! This will be our first experience in a RunDisney race... I am a Disaholic and love all things Disney. So why not embrace this awesome world of RunDisney-ing!! I am super excited about Wine & Dine 2015 but am not much of a "running competitor" - meaning I have run for years, but only competed in a handful of races in my life time. I am here checking threads out and finding out the ins and outs to make the most of our experience! DS16 is running the Jingle Jungle 5K with me - I am super excited about it! :surfweb:

Welcome :) I was a new runner when I did my first RunDisney event last year. I think you'll find that a lot of people at the RunDisney races do them for fun and not for competition. I hope you guys have a great time!

I never thought I'd be one for donning a costume for a race, but have to admit that once I did, it sure was fun! I'm not hardcore about it, and I'll only use actual running clothes (preferably that I already own, but I'll buy a cheap thing or two as needed), but I've managed to pull off a fairly respectable Haunted Mansion, Cindy, Snow, Ariel, "bottle" of champagne, Donald, Minnie and R2D2 over the years. I'm thinking Remy for this one: I have a grey sparkly skirt, grey top, chef's hat & wooden spoon, plus grey & pink felt ears and maybe a small tail.

I'm of the school of thought, at least for runDisney events, that I am only competing with myself. And the Balloon Ladies.

Have fun and enjoy the adventure!

The Remy idea sounds really cute!!

Thats good to know! I have concerns about creating an outfit that is not comfortable or inhibits my running. I have my favorite go to running pants that I will probably utilize or try stuff out in advance. Chaff-age or being uncomfortable is not enjoyable!

I might have a slight obsession with Raw Threads going on right now... and Disney inspired outfits I find on Pinterest.

Exactly! Comfort is always my #1 priority. And to be clear - I am NOT at all crafty and can't sew more than a few sloppy stitches to mend a tear or put on a button. But it's easy to, for example, put a light blue a running top over a light blue running skirt, add white "gloves" made of white knee-high socks with the toes cut off, a bit of black ribbon around the neck and a tiara or blue ribbon in the hair... voila, Cinderella!

What's the story on Raw Threads,I'm doing the Town of Celebration half marathon 3 weeks after Disney marathon weekend and their race shirts are made by Raw Threads,I have no experience with this company, they say they use bamboo technology on their shirts, whatever that means, are they like a normal dri fit shirt?
