Wine and Dine 2015

So excited about my new Polar M400; I've been wanting an activity tracker and gps watch that did intervals for a while. My little pre-wedding treat to myself :)

So, I got an ADR for late lunch on race day at Chefs de France - but I'm thinking of dumping it.

What is everyone else's plan on eating before the race?

My plan is to eat at Rainforest Cafe for lunch, though I haven't made any ADRs yet, then get something at the CBR food court before the race. I am a runner that needs to eat before a race, so at dinnertime I will find something similar in portion to my usual lunch. I'll have plenty of time to digest.

Nice watch, DisneyHoover!!

Are the special runDisney hotel rates likely gone now? I would like to stay at one of the moderates (preferably POFQ or POR) but hadn't booked yet since we were hit with a ton of car and vet bills right before leaving for Tink. I got an Orbitz 20% code today and decided to check out rates, but it doesn't look like it's good on the WDW hotels. :(

Last year I had lunch at CBR's food court and grabbed a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a croissant to go - that was my dinner later (I was staying offsite with a microwave to reheat it.) It was the best pre-night race meal I've ever had, so I'm hoping to do the same this year!

Ooo, those look like big, visible numbers, no?! I may need to check this out; my over-40 eyes can't see the itty-bitty numbers on my Garmin Forerunner 10 anymore lol!

Hard to say .... call the RD number and ask .... 50/50 chance.

:thumbsup2

I used the JG plan for my Tink training. I'm not sure if I'll use the same (Beginner) one and follow it better (I did not skip a single weekend run, but did skip more weekday ones than I should have) or do the Experienced one to just finish in the upright position.

I am definitely a beginner, lol, so I used that. I will be done with it way before W&D so I don't know what I will do after. Maybe a more advanced one.

We wanted POFQ, but it was booked when we made our reservations back in march. We are at POR. Good Luck!

Southwest's flight schedule is now available through January. :) As of now, I'm planning to arrive late Thursday night (technically early early Friday morning - the flight is scheduled to arrive at 1:15 am) and leave Monday evening. I may have to shift the late Thursday to late Friday depending on how things pan out with work.

Will you be done with it for long enough before to finish a new plan? I would probably just build some base between now and when the JG plan starts, and then start the actual JG plan when it's supposed to start so that the timing of the long runs before the race works out. Maybe just keep redoing the first few weeks up until then. :)

That is a GOOD idea! Seriously, I had not even had that thought cross my mind, lol! Thanks for the idea.

I'm sort of doing the JG plan to prep for my 2 half marathons in June. I say "sort of" because I had to scale it back a bit due to injuries and being away on vacation, but I'm in the ballpark. After those halfs, I plan to follow the Experienced plan on the normal schedule (so, I'm thinking that starts in early July). Although, I have to admit, I may not do the super long runs. 17 mile runs just seem excessive to me when I only need to run 13 miles in the actual race. I plan to focus on reducing my walk intervals, so that alone should shave off some time, and I'm not looking for huge improvements. Mostly, I just want to get to and complete the race without any overuse injuries.

The "experienced to finish upright" only goes up to 14, like the beginner one, although I did not do the 14 mile run either. I planned to do 13 and stopped at 12.1 because I had blisters. I also think 17 in the "experienced for time improvement" seems a little excessive.

I booked my flight with SW. Preferred airport and even direct flights!!! And really cheap too!

They changed their flight schedules for our local airport. No direct flight on wednesday now, but we can still get there about the same time, just have to leave 2 hours earlier. The direct home on Sunday is 2 hours later than before now, so we would be getting home at midnight. More time at disney though!

Just when I thought we had our travel plans set (!!!), DD25 and I are talking about cancelling Bonnet Creek and staying in a value. We stayed at AS Sports in Feb. and would be fine there again. Question - while staying there I saw that they have their own bus (shared with all the AS values) to WWOS. Do all the resorts have direct busses that go there? We are thinking about a mod, but it probably won't happen (more $$ for expo!), but just wondering if they also have direct busses to WWOS?

We may be the exception, but we usually stay at POR .... and still take a cab to expo in the morning for packet pick up, etc .... just easier and less stress.
