Wine and Dine 2015

We're getting close to ADR time, aren't we? What reservations is everyone eyeing?? Trying to decide where to eat before the race!

Ahh... Don't stress me out!! j/k, I love planning so I've been working on this for a while.. We are arriving on Tuesday morning and leaving Sunday afternoon.

Tuesday - Lunch at hotel (CBR); For dinner we were thinking somewhere in the Boardwalk area .. possibly just something simple like eating at a lounge.. suggestions anyone? ?

Wednesday - Breakfast at hotel; Lunch at Yak & Yeti; Dinner at California Grill

Thursday - Breakfast at hotel; Lunch Sci-Fi; Dinner at Boathouse

Friday - Breakfast *hopefully* at BOG; Lunch at Kona; Dinner at ??? Planning to go to Fantasmic and can't decide where to go for dinner... Suggestions?!

Saturday - Still pretty clueless about what to eat before the race. Big brunch somewhere and then light snack before the race?

Anyone have any suggestions or advice for any of the above???

I like the new intervals with the 30 second walk. On Wednesday I ran 4 miles with a 3:30/:30 interval and felt pretty good. Today I ran 4 miles with a 3:00/:30 interval and felt great. This is a taper week because of the race that I am running on Sunday so I can't be sure if the ease of those runs is tied to the interval or the reduced mileage. I'll use them for a few weeks after the half marathon to get a better feel for that, but for now the results are very positive. This from a runner who hates using walk intervals.

That's great. We've run a couple of times this week doing 2:00/:30 and it's been good. Took me a bit during that first mile to get used to the shorter walk, but once I got used to it, it was good. Tomorrow is our first group run with out Galloway group so I'm really looking forward to that.

I've got some tentative plans. Mostly going to do counter service and eat at Food & Wine I think, but I'm wanting to try a few places we've never gone before.

Friday 6th - Trying for a lunch ADR at Beaches & Cream and Dinner considering La Hacienda
Saturday 7th - Thinking an early dinner ADR at Via Napoli before the race
Sunday 8th - Lunch ADR at Kona Cafe
Monday 9th - Dinner ADR at Victoria & Alberts

With the exception of V&A, we've never eaten at any of these places. Any of you who have tried these care to weigh in?

This is the part I'm debating. Right now I'm thinking an early dinner like 4ish. I've never run a night race before, so I'm really not sure what to do either.

I did a big brunch around 11 and light dinner around 5 before Tower of Terror last year and that worked out pretty well. Here is what I'm tentatively shooting for this year.

Friday - Raglan Road
Saturday - Brunch after the 5k at Boma and then a small dinner at the hotel
Sunday - Hollywood Studios so maybe Mama Melrose or Brown Derby for dinner
Monday - Magic Kingdom so I'm going to try for lunch at Be Our Guest. Not staying for the party so maybe Trader Sam's and and Kona or the Wave for a late dinner.
Tuesday - Not sure on this day yet. Maybe a water park during the day and back to Epcot for food and wine in the evening.

Me either.. Last week I ran a 10K that started at 1pm and I was freaking out about what to eat.. So I ate my usual breakfast at 7am (English muffin with peanut butter and bananas) and then had another one at 11am because I was too scared to eat something different before the race.. lol.

For last years TOT I ate at Tutto Italia at about 4 and then afterwards went back to the BC and hit the hot tub and then got everything ready to go. I felt full but not overwhelmed.

We plan on eating at Rainforest Cafe on Saturday for lunch. I got a gift card from work as a reward, so it's a free meal. Monday will be Boma's for breakfast before we leave. Sunday we will probably sleep in and do MVMCP. Not sure if we'll plan a sit down meal or just grab counter service when we're hungry. Because we will have been in DL in September, we will probably go the cheaper counter service route.

Since my trip won't involve park time, my meal planning is far easier...

Friday - Earl of Sandwich
Saturday - Wave Brunch; someplace easy for dinner
Sunday - Resort breakfast, depending on if my DVC waitlist comes through.

I've done TOT twice and W&D once...I had lunch around normal time on Saturday, then a banana with peanut butter right before going to the bus. Thats what I plan to do this year too. :)

The only one I really have nailed down is Boma dinner for Friday night, since my parents want to join us for that. Going to try to get BOG for Sunday before MVMCP, but if I can't get that I'll probably pick a late lunch somewhere that we haven't been before (maybe Kona Cafe?). Everything else is still up in the air. I'm still trying to figure out how we're going to spend our days, since this is our first RunDisney event. Tentative plan:

Thurs - Arrive at MCO 11:15am, DME to BC, store carry-on bags there if room isn't ready and head to Epcot for lunch at the F&W kiosks. Then I'd like to hit MK for a bit and maybe dinner on the monorail route or head back to Boardwalk area and go to Flying Fish or Il Mulino and check out Jellyrolls.
Fri -- Grab breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery. Head to expo at opening. Animal Kingdom in the afternoon and Boma for dinner. Depending on dinner time, we'll probably go right to Epcot and catch Illuminations at 10.
Sat -- Hollywood Studios morning EMH. Biggish lunch somewhere (maybe Beaches & Cream? Via Napoli?) then relax at the resort/nap until race time.
Sun -- I have no idea how late we'll want to sleep, so I'm leaving the morning pretty flexible. Basically, if we're up and about, we'll head to a park or maybe Downtown Disney. Nothing concrete planned until MVMCP. Most likely we'll go to MK in the early afternoon. Dinner BOG or somewhere on monorail line.
Mon -- Breakfast at Cape May Cafe. Probably leaving around 2pm on DME since flight is at 5:05.

But...I don't have any Disney Springs time scheduled, and I usually get there at least once per trip, so I dunno. I figure, other than BOG, most ADRs can be rescheduled as I get closer to the trip and my plans firm up.

Trying to get my SWW planned and just had to do excursions for our cruise this summer...can't begin to think about this trip! Since it will likely be a relatively quick one for us, we may only make 1-2 adrs.

Subject to changing 20 more times, but so far:
Thursday: Jiko at AKL- I need to take another day off of work and book another night stay to make this one work. It shouldn't be a problem as long as Southwest Airlines flight schedule cooperates.
Friday: Lunch at POP, dinner at the Plaza Restaurant at MK.
Saturday: Breakfast at POP, lunch at POR for make your own pasta then a light dinner back at POP. This day is the one most likely to change because I don't have a clue. Oh, late night drinks at EPCOT!
Sunday: Lunch at BOG, Sleepy Hollow for an ice cream cookie sandwich then dinner at a QS at HS.
Monday: Breakfast at Kona Café, lunch at Via Napoli, dinner at Food and Wine booths.
Tuesday: Flame Tree barbeque for lunch, dinner at Gaston's Tavern or Cosmic Rays before MVMCP.
Wednesday: Lunch wherever the wind takes me to.

I'm obviously a planning junkie. This will be my first solo trip so its nice to not worry about what the rest of my family wants. I'm very excited for Jiko, just wish I could make it fit in somewhere after the race so I could enjoy a few glasses of wine with dinner. I'm limiting myself to one glass to be on the safe side.

Not positive on all of ours yet. Will eat breakfast at resort since we have Business class at CSR. As for ADR's
Wednesday: California Grill or Boma for a later dinner.
Thursday: Snacking around F&W, might make ADR for La Hacienda
Friday: BOG for early dinner as part of our Drink at every park adventure.
Saturday: Might book something for early Lunch.
Sunday: Lunch in Downtown Disney

Friday: Lunch at POP, dinner at the Plaza Restaurant at MK.
Saturday: Breakfast at POP, lunch at POR for make your own pasta then a light dinner back at POP. This day is the one most likely to change because I don't have a clue. Oh, late night drinks at EPCOT!
Sunday: Lunch at BOG, Sleepy Hollow for an ice cream cookie sandwich then dinner at a QS at HS.
Monday: Breakfast at Kona Café, lunch at Via Napoli, dinner at Food and Wine booths.

F&W booths typically close after the race...I think they are still open on Sunday, but I wouldn't count on Monday.

The festival lasts until the 16th this year,a full week after the race.I didn't run it last year but I remember telling myself it was crazy to have the race the last weekend of the festival which is notoriously crowded on its own without the 14,000 runners and families adding to it.It makes much more sense not having the race the last week.

I do this too! I plan to eat my normal cereal breakfast for dinner. But I'm definitely going to practice this during training.

I am also going to drop the walk from a minute to 30 seconds.

For the 2 Tower runs I ate dinner for breakfast and then had lite snack late afternoon.

I do not plan a lot when going to Disney. I like to wing it.
