Wine and Dine 2015

I've never had a problem doing table service by myself. With cell phones or a book, I find it easy to entertain myself. For the most part, no one even notices. Everyone else is on their own vacation around you.

I will be on solo trip too... but on sunday i reserved a Be Our Guest Post Races Celebration Dinner than i will attend MVMCP :santa:

DW hit 13.1 for the first time on Saturday. 2:50 She also found an interval that she's happy with.

I did 13.1 for the 3rd straight weekend. And then went to work for 8 hours. :tilt:

But the body does seem to be adapting to the long run. Less pain in various parts. Though I did discover a place I missed with the ol' Body Glide.

In 2013, I ended up going to the Friday night MVMCP and staying up through the night and going straight to the 5K (after a shower and costume change of course) and had a blast. No grogginess. Then I had my traditional post Jingle Jungle breakfast at Captain Cook's (a la carte Tonga Toast). Found my way back to the hotel room, plunked down and slept until it was time to get up for dinner and then dressed for the race. I was fully recharged and energized for the half and after party and was one of the last people out of Epcot--I was in Italy when they cut the party music and turned on the lights. I don't think I would recommend that schedule if you have friends/family that aren't also planning on the race and after party though.

I like your thinking! I'm a night owl, so something like that would totally work for me. Just wish EPCOT was open later than 10 on Friday.

We are definitely in corral H! Woo hoo! DH will be dressed in Marine "dress blues" (if I ever get them made!) and I will be dressed as Rosie the Riveter. (Thank God my costume is rather simple! Hopefully it will be recognizable!)

The day of the half we plan to sleep in as late as our parent brains will allow then have lunch at Kona. We'll ride a few rides at MK then head back to the hotel to nap/lay around before a light dinner from the food court, get ready, head out to WWoS via race transport. We hope to stop for a few pictures and close out the after party.

DD25 and I plan to do rope drop at AK Saturday morning. Then we have some fast passes that end by 12:30. Then back to our condo at Bonnet Creek to nap and float around on the lazy river. We have a full kitchen so we are bringing our normal running / race day food (toast w/pb or bagel for DD25). Then Uber over to Epcot to catch the race transportation. Neither of us want to risk eating Disney food pre race, since we never have before lol. Hopefully we will have lots of time after our finish to enjoy the after party (and food!). :)

So I just realized that we are doing rope drop Saturday morning in AK, the same place and time the 5k is ending. Good or bad lol?

Sorry if this is already posted: you can also now sign up for runner tracking. It is on the runDisney site, under the race, in the Spectator tab.

I love Rosie the Riveter! :) Is your husband a Marine?

Our Saturday morning plans are to head to Typhoon Lagoon if weather permits. Nothing better than a few hours in the lazy river to loosen up the muscles and get me ready for the run. I usually nap until 7 then head to a bus to get to the start early.

We also have a breakfast buffet where I will eat everything I can as fuel haha. I know that it says eat a normal breakfast but for me on race day breakfast and lunch will be big for getting fuel and then I eat a small dinner.

I'm going to be partying solo this year. We decided that SO would stay home with our doggy. Kinda looking forward to just doing some stuff by myself without having to worry about him, but it will be weird to do stuff all alone. :) He's not a runner, so I'm free now to get to the expo early and poke around as long as I like. I'm also a naturally earlier riser than him, so I can get out and do whatever I want earlier in the morning. :)

My parents will be there Thursday evening until Sunday mid-day, though, so I won't be completely alone, but they're not going to the after party. Trying to decide what to do about our hotel reservations. On the one hand it seems silly to keep 2 reservations (I'm at POFQ and they are at AS), but on the other hand, with them not going to the party, I'll be arriving back at the room late while they're sleeping. Plus I booked through Orbitz, so I'm dreading a fiasco trying to change the occupants of the room since I don't think I can do that through Disney.

I think the weirdest thing will be dining alone. Can you make a reservation for one? :o I'll meet up probably with my folks for late breakfast or lunch on Sunday, then I'll be on my own. I'm going to MVMCP, and then I think I'll spend Monday at Animal Kingdom. I'm free to watch the tigers and gorillas and ride the safari as many times as I want. :D My flight home is @ 8:30 PM on Monday night, so I don't need to catch the bus to the airport until later in the day.

We're doing MVMCP as well - and if you want company, I can totally hang with you on Monday - or at least take you to a fun, celebratory meal before you catch the express to the airport!

This is a solo trip for me. Saturday I have an ADR for breakfast at Kona Café and no other plans other than relaxing until time to get on the bus that night. On Sunday I plan on sleeping in then I have a late lunch ADR at BOG. I'm celebrating with dinner at The Yachtsman Steakhouse late Sunday night. Tuesday night will be my last night and I'm finishing it off with drinks at the AKL lounge then dinner and wine at Jiko. I can't wait!

He is. When we decided to do this race we didn't realize we'd be missing his last Marine Corps ball. So we're going to run in patriotic gear to celebrate! :) (My husband would probably rather not, but I thought at least it's a different costume.)

Did anyone else notice that the guide says there will be a "Clif Bar product" at mile 8.4, instead of Clif Shot like last years? Wonder if they will have something different?

We're doing Yachtsman on Sunday too! Completely looking forward to that victory steak!

I would be highly surprised if it's not a gel,it's pretty much always a gel product.I used to always buy gels, some chomps or bloks and/or some energy beans for each race to have a variety of things on half marathons and longer but I think on my last half in Sarasota I told myself I'm done with gel products. They tend to make me more thirsty than the chews and I'm kind of tired of them.
