I had booked Fantasy World Villas through hotelmartusa.com for our Presidents week vacation. I just got an email from them saying that Fantasy World Villas was renovating and that they wanted to upgrade us from a 2 bedroom townhouse at Fantasy World to a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Palms. From what I can tell this is a nice property and probably better than Fantasy World, but I am in a dilemma about our occupancy number. We have 8 in our party including, four of which are our children including 1 seven year old, 2 five year olds, and a 6 month old. Even though the occupancy at Fantasy World villas said 6 people, we weren't worried about having a couple of extra people. We had stayed here before with only 6 people and we knew there was plenty of room and that no one was going to check on our occupancy number anyways (no flames please). Well, Windsor Plms is a gated community and I am concerned that there will be a problem having more than the number of guests than originally noted. Has anyone stayed here? Do you think it will be a problem?
I had a few other questions too. Do all the condos have washers and dryers? We will have two vehicles, is there parking for two? How far away from the condos is the pool? How thick are the walls? With four small kids, I worry about disturbing people with noise.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have been at both Fantasy World and Windsor Palms. You are getting a good deal being transfered to Windsor Palms. It is a nice place. I only had a two bedroom but from what I can remember, there was plenty of room. In fact, the two bedroom closets could each hold a bed or a crib, though the 3 bedrooms may have smaller closets. There was a washer and dryer in our condo. The condo's are close to the pool area. One thing that you might want to request, if possible, is for a ground floor room. We were on the third floor and there are no elevators. I do remember hearing some loud people walking by below us when I was sleeping, but I don't remember hearing anything from the neighbors on the same floor. There are no assigned parking places so I would think that two cars would be all right but you will need two passes to get by the guard.
You may be all right with 8 people in a 3 bedroom. There will be room for 2 in each bedroom and 2 on the pull out couch (if there is one) in the living room.

I would think an 3 bedroom would allow an occupancy of 8. Did you check?

We are staying in a 2 bedroom for Feb vacation -- and our occupancy limit is 6. Maybe we'll see you at the pool! We love Windsor Palms. We're staying in a villa there for Christmas, along with my husband's brother and wife.

I haven't checked the occupancy number because our original reservation through hotelmartusa.com was only for 6, maybe I will call and make myself feel better.
Thanks.

We have stayed in two different 3 bedroom condos at Windsor Palms and I would say you should have no problems sleeping 8 people with only 4 adults.

Can anyone who has stayed in Windsor Palms tell me how long it took you to get to the parks? We're considering Windsor Palms for our next trip in May, and the website says they are three miles from the parks. I was wondering what the actual travel time was and how heavy was the traffic? Thanks!!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
There is actually a "secret" shortcut from Windsor Palms. You turn left out of Windsor Palms and go to hiway 192. Turn right on 192 and get directly into the left lane because at the first traffic lights you make a left. This is Sherberth Road. You go down Sherberth for about a mile and at the lights you make a right and you are on Disney property! :cool1: It takes maybe 10 minutes to get this far. Animal Kingdom is on the left and the rest of the parks are further down the road.

We stayed in a 3 Bed/3 Bath Town Home at Windsor a couple of weeks ago. We had 2 twin beds, 1 king, 1 queen, 1 queen sleeper sofa.

All condo's and Town Homes have washer/Dryer. We came in three cars and the gate keeper gave each one of us a parking permit. The only person the gate keeper is interested in is the one who is holding the reservation information. The place is pretty spread out and very quiet. I don't think anyone does any checking on the # in your party.

Very easy to get to the World from there. Takes about 10 min. The only trick is moving over to your left lane immediately when you turn right on 192 because the next light where you make a left comes up fast. Another hint is anytime you are leaving the world, just follow the signs to Animal Kingdom Lodge and just before the Lodge there is a light. Turn left there and you are back on Shurberth.
