Windsor Hills Waterslide Height Restrictions

We were planning on booking a Townhome in WH for our Nov. trip. However, I saw on another thread that there is a 48 inch height requirement for the waterslide. Our four year old is just now about 41 inches. Would she be allowed to use it if I or my husband ride with her? We will need to find another resort if she can not use the slide, as she will not understand why her big sister can go down it and she can't. Would you recommend Windsor Palms as an alternative site for our trip? We can get by with two bedrooms, but will go up to three bedroom to get a private splash pool. Thanks for the help. This forum is so helpful.

No, I don't think she would be allowed to use it even with an adult. They are quite strict on the 48" requirement. She might not want to go on it anyway because it's fairly big for someone that size. My two grandsons will be going with us in Nov. and I know they would be scared to go on it. One is 4 and 45" and the other dare devil is only about 42" but I don't think he would dare go on it either. The slide is also only open when there's an attendant there.
WP doesn't have a slide at all and not as nice a pool area.
WH has a zero entry section and a play area where fountains pop up at different times in a circular pattern and the kids can splash around. WH also has an awesome castle playground that my grandsons have seen pictures of and can't wait to play there.

From what I understand, parents can not go down with children on the slide. I think it is one of those enclosed slide tunnels. This is why we did not choose this development. I totally understand the rules and the safety aspect of it, but I too did not want to listen to my DD ask to go on the slide the entire trip while her brothers were able to go down it. We stayed at Regal Palms in Davenport on our last trip and all my kids, even my 20 month old dare devil went down that slide with one of us. Regal Palms also has a lazy river. We had a blast. It is further out but it was worth it to us. We have also stayed at Windsor Palms. Despite not having the water slide WP is a nice resort. You will not miss what you have never had and you won't be disappointed with it. The location is wonderful. Good luck.

The thread you found is correct, it's 48" minimum, and they will not let parents ride with the kids. The reason is the landing area is 48" deep, so they want kids to be able to touch bottom, shorter kids have snuck past and they end up having to be rescued.

Sorry but that's the rules, don't shoot the messenger! Disney doesn't let kids go on certain rides either though due to height, but it wouldn't stop you from visiting would it!?

Thanks everyone for the responses. We are not upset about the existence of the rule--just wanted to know for sure. If I knew for sure she would not get upset about not getting on the slide, I would go ahead and book at Windsor Hills. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Well my point being, just let her know in advance ( I know, easier said than done! hehe). You're going to face the same thing at Disney when she can't go on certain rides...there's a bunch of rides where 44" is the minimum height requirement.

There are a lot of things she would enjoy at WH which are not present at other developments. So you might want to give her the choice.

I agree with George: there are MANY height (some MAXIMUM heights, too!) restrictions at the parks, and it might be a good idea to try to formulate a plan or some ground rules prior to your trip if even the pool slide is going to be an issue.

On the other hand, you might be surprised at how much she takes it in stride. Our kids always have so much fun at WDW they never begrudge each other anything while we are there.
