Yesterday, the YES program released its summer dates. I cannot register until Feb, but i can finally plan and make arraingments. I am buying my plane tickets today. I would also like to reserve our rental home.

Can't decide between a condo and a townhome. We are staying midJune for 8 days and most condo rentals are quoting about $650 inclusive. However, one guy quoted me a price of $553 for 8 days.

I have a couple of townhome quotes for $750.

Can decide if I should pay an extra $200 and get a 3 br townhome, or save the money and get the 3 br condo.

Maybe one of your thoughts will push me in one direction or the other. What do you think.

*Update - Several owners were unable to come down in price, but a few did. One townhome owner came down to $700. So - $553 condo or $700 townhome?

Also, any tips or suggestions when renting privately at WH? This is our first time. Thank you

The townhouse is a little bigger than the condo and has its own splash pool. How important is it to you to have yor own splash pool? If not then I would go with the condo. It is nice having it after a long day in the park. I'm in the same boat but I decided to go with the townhouse. The community pool is also very nice. You will not be disappointed with either a condo or townhouse, WH is great!

Townhome advantages (as I can see)...

More space, Being 2 stories, everything is a bit more spread out. That is nice. I REFUSE to stay in a hotel room on vacation with kids. lol.

Splash Pool, wont pay for heat, but have been told by ppl that the ppol will be warm enough in June. (Does this include the night?) Anyone have a splash pool without the pool heat in June and used it at night?

Driveway, the townhome is about 5 steps from the car. I just see this as a huge convenience.

So, more space, splash pool, and walking convience=$147? That is the question

You won't need pool heat in June, we stayed in a pool home with a large pool in Nov. and we swam without the pool being heated ;) As far as the walking we have stayed in condos at WH and it really wasn't a problem for us. Just comes down to personal preference and how old your kids are. We liked the condo when our youngest was younger as we didn't want to have to deal with steps and him falling down them:thumbsup2

We booked a townhome last January and loved it. Depending on who you are going with and if you have children, I would say book the townhome. The splashpool name seems misleading but we had 5 kids ages 3-11 and it was a perfect size for all 5 of them. They preferred to swim in the smaller splash pool as opposed to the huge main pool.

At night, after the kiddies were in bed, FDH and I would relax in the pool with a glass of wine.

You also can park right in front of your townhome and that is a big plus for us.

We are going again next week, just FDH and I and he did not want to go with a condo. So we are renting a house this time, for just the 2 of us??? Actually we got a really good last minute deal with a 4 bedroom house.

As far as disadvantages, booking a condo will usually have you closer to the main pool area but some townhomes are just across the street. You could get a townhome that is a fair distance from the main pool.

I would say go with the town home. We just booked this morning for June 2-9 in Windsor Hills for $550 total. The condo was about $100 cheaper but the splash pool and extra bedroom was worth the $100 to us. We rented through www.vacationcentralflorida.com i've heard lots of positive reviews from previous renters.

Just to let you know that in the townhomes the master king bedroom and bathroom and the twin bedroom and bathroom are on the top floor and there is another queen (usually) bedroom and bathroom on the bottom floor. Just wanted to make sure you knew this in case you were thinking that all the bedrooms were on the same floor.

We rented a town home there last May. The unit itself was ok, but it was so nice to have no one stomping their feet on top of you! Plus the private pool is great! It was wonderful not to have to pack everything up (kids included) and trek to the clubhouse pool every time we wanted to swim. I'm going to rent either a town home in WH again, or another community, but no condos for us :-)

Townhomes and condos are both great if you only need three bedrooms. The cost difference is not that significant, so I would choose which home has the most to offer.

Pool heat is not usually necessary in May, but it depends on the weather. If it in the 80's during the day and doesn't drop below the high 70's at night, the pool temp should stay warm enough.

Well, I pulled the trigger! lol

It wasn't a condo and actually, not even at Windsor Hills.

I found a 3br, 3bth townhome for $650 for 8 nights. Thats $650 for 8 full nights!
$72 a night plus tax for a 3br/3bth townhouse with splashpool!

Well, now I move to obtaining plane tickets.

I am getting EXCITED!

The person quoted me a price of $650 for 7 nights. However, when I told them it was 8 nights and showed and offer of $700 from another townhouse, they threw in the extra day for free!

I know the townhouse is not decorated how I would like. Some townhouses are SO Disney decorated that I can imagine it making on feel like being onsite. This townhouse is just blandly decorated. However, $72 a night + tax for a 3br/3bth w/ spl pool is awesoeme!

I like that property. I think you found a GREAT deal. I have been reading these boards about Windsor Hills & Windsor Palms. I do plan to try one of them in the future. Good Luck and have FABULOUS vacation!!! :)
