Window to cancel

I just booked a candle light processional dining package for between xmas and nye.
The cast member told me there was a 48 prior cancellation policy.
I thought it was 24 hours.
Is this something done for all reservations at this time because of the busy holidays or the particular event?
Clarification would help, as we are sometimes exhausted and occasionally cancel a dining reservation
to buy ourselves some time to be lazy.

Many of the dining special events, dinner shows, etc require 48 hours instead of 24, regardless of time of year.
