Is it possible to make your own static window clings?

It would be great to learn how, and put some of these wonderful designs on them for our room window during our trips to the World.

Anyone ever tried???

I looked for some and couldn't find any, I did find some window decals at office depot, they look better if you put them on the outside of the window though.

I have made some window clings with vinyl table covers that you buy by the yard or so. I bought mine from wal-mart. I used the sharpie type markers to color them in and they came out great. I taped the design to the back and colored it in then after the marker dried I cut it out.

Sorry,
I am lost.
I just can't picture how you turned the vinyl table cover pieces into static clings???
Could you try to explain it for me again?
Sorry

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago and came up with this

you can actually order the material and print them with your home ink jet printer ... a little pricey but so are the transfer papers .. but we do that too :D ... If you go with this idea let me know how it turns out .. i have yet to order the paper ( hubby think's i'm nuts for even wanting to do this ) so i'm holding off for now . Good Luck

Sorry about the confusion. I don't have any pictures to post at the moment but I can try to post some later. I bought a yard or so of the vinyl tablecloth covers that you can puchase in the fabric department. It's the clear vinyl that you would put over your tablecloth so it won't get stained. I then printed from the computer on regular white paper the picture or clipart that I wished to use. I made them for my sisters birthday so I chose disney characters with birthday hats and balloons. I taped them under the vinyl. With sharpie permanent markers I traced the picture then colored it in. After that I let them dry for a while or you will smudge the marker. Then I removed the paper that I used to trace and cut out the window clings. They stuck to the windows just fine and I was very pleased with the outcome. I hope that helped you out. It's a lot harder to imagine when you can't see the finished product.

I was in Office Depot yesterday and they sell vinyl cling sheets to print on for just this type of project. I can't remember how much they cost but I think it was about $15 for 5-8 sheets that were 81/2 x 11. I'm sure other stores sell them as well - they are with the photo paper and iron on transfer paper (which I've been buying a ton of lately:rotfl: )!

Good Luck!
