Window Cleaning

We want to have someone come and clean our windows this spring, so I called a local company and they gave us an estimate. We'll probably go with them, but kindof wanted to compare prices (Chicago suburb area). Has anyone had their windows cleaned and about how much did you pay? Its a 2 story house and for the inside and outside they quoted $290. Does that sound right? Thanks!

Funny, I logged on and saw this thread. I just was thinking as I opened my living room windows how am I going to wash them. I wish I could pay someone but I have to do it myself, I need a ladder or maybe all119 lbs can sit on someone shoulders and I could do it.

The only reason we're having it done is because there is construction around us (everywhere) and our windows are filthy! No way we want to spend that much time and effort to do it this time.

Whatever it costs, it will be worth it! We finally broke down and started paying to have the windows done a few years ago--and no, we're not rich, just getting older and stiffer. Anyway, it is so wonderful to have the whole house all sparkling and clean in just a few hours. You will be so happy that you got it all done at once.

No Jason the truely rich send their windows out to be cleaned. Can't have all those strangers in and around the mansion you know.

That quote seems a bit high to me. I just got the name and number of a company a friend used. She also has a two story and they did all the windows, the storms and screens for just about $200. I will be calling them soon for our house. I love clean windows but never seen to find the time to do them all at once. But having someone do it all in one day, that will be a treat.

That outside stuff Windex makes that you spray on with a hose works great.
