Thinking of skipping Disney next year to avoid crowds. Does anyone know if Williamsburg Virginia is as crowded as WDW at Easter? I am assuming that Vero Beach is very crowded, but there is no waiting in line for rides, so what negatives are there?

We have gone to Williamsburg the last two Easter vacations and it's been great. Both of the last two years, Busch Gardens was crowded for the Monday, but it wasn't even close to being Disney crowded. You would have a few 30 to 40 minute waits, but as it got later, the lines went down. Last year, they announced two hours before the park closed that they decided to keep the park open an hour later that day. It was a nice surprise. As for the rest of the week, it wasn't bad at all on Tuesday, and Wednesday there were hardly any lines. This past trip, we stayed at Kingsmill, it was beautiful. We haven't done Vero yet.

we went to Williamsburg for Easter of 2001. I found it to be very crowded compared to our past trips to Williamsburg during the summer and fall, but it probably wouldn't seem crowded compared to WDW. Busch Gardens was a madhouse the Saturday after Easter due to a high school band contest--we walked in, rode one ride and walked out. I found the restaurants to be overwhelmed by the number of people-long waits, poor service--avoid the Applebees on the main drag at all costs. (I ordered wine, salad and entree--got only the entree, found a hair at the bottom of the dish--got charged for all three items, and when I asked to see the manager was told "he was too busy to speak to me"--I haven't been back to any Applebees since.) I love Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens and go often-but I won't go back at Easter.

I guess it's when you go. We never do any parks on the weekends, unless it was Universal staying on site with the Express benefits. Usually, the first Monday after Easter IS pretty crowded in Williamsburg, but we have noticed as the week goes on, the crowds tend to thin out.

We have gone to Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Easter sunday for the past 4 years. It is wonderfully slow. Very little wait time if any. The Italian restaurant is very good in the park but most other food is awful.

If you like seafood you must go to Captain George's seafood buffet. Carmella's Basta Pasta is where we have eaten on EaSTER the past two years.

Thank you everyone. We are still trying to decide what to do. I think I have a good idea of Williamsburg, can anyone tell me about Vero Beach at Easter?
