My husbands cousin told me it's the best she's ever had. She told me I really need to try it.
But is it worth $18.50 for hot chocolate?
It seems kind of pricey for a drink?
Hot Chocolate
What do you think?

All of the food (and kitchen) products from Williams Sonoma are delicious and worth the money. Go on, treat yourself!! You'll be glad you did.

It is absolutely the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had. I buy myself some every year and save it for treats when it's cold because it is sort of expensive. Go for it, it's worth it!!

I have never tried the hot chocolate, but their pumpkin bread mix is delicious. All the food products I have tried, have been great.

It's good...
But not worth the $$ It's basically shaved-dark chocolate? Buy a bar of good quality chocolate and make your own!

JMO....I do like all of their food products I have tried tho! :confused3

We love the Williams-Sonoma Hot Chocolate. It's a comforting treat on a cold New England evening. :)

It's about 4.50 a cup since it serves 4, that's about the same you would spend for a cocktail at a bar or out to eat. I say buy it!

Don't get me started on Williams-Sonoma. While the store is lovely, it is the most overpriced, yuppie-robbing scam out there. They take regular products, put their name on it, and mark it up about a bazillion dollars.

I guarantee you that the Williams-Sonoma hot chocolate is being sold somewhere for a much cheaper price.

Example: I did a LOT of Peppermint Bark sampling last year (as it is my passion). Trader Joe's Peppermint Bark and Williams-Sonoma Peppermint Bark were identical. Trader Joe's was less than HALF of what WS was charging.

Marshmallow Fluff: My co-worker's husband is a Marshmallow Fluff addict. One day, while at WS, they noticed the WS Marshmallow Fluff was on clearance for about $8.00 a jar. He got two jars and said it was the best stuff he ever had. Then they couldn't find it again. But, they found some at Target that was IDENTICAL to it. Made by a company called "Tiny Trapeze". I think it was $3.00 a jar.

Pineapple Corer. I bought this at Target for $3.95. Went WS a few weeks later and they had it for $15.95. Exact same item, exact same plastic, very identical.

So, yeah the WS Hot Chocolate will most probably be wonderful. But somewhere, someone is making it for them and selling it for much cheaper. You just need to figure out who!

It is good -Its like shaved semisweet chocolate that melts into the hot milk.
I wonder if you could get a good bar and shave it?
I got some in February when it was marked way down.

ACK! The Williams-Sonoma name is taboo in this house right now! The man that used to run WS is now running my DW's company - not just the retail part of the chain but is restructuring the manufacturing aspect of it too. She said it's failing miserably in her store, everything is overpriced and the stuff is even starting to look like Williams-Sonoma. Needless to say she's not a fan.

I was in the WS outlet about an hour ago, as a matter of fact and they had the hot chocolate for about 9.00 a can, I believe. See if there is an outlet nearby.

Thank you everyone for your input.
I don't have an outlet nearby. The closest are in NY :sad2:
I think I may wait until the after Christmas sales.

Two years ago a parent from school gave me a Williams-Sonoma Hot chocolate gift set (with marshmallows, yum) for Valentine's Day. I had every intention of using it but never did. I think it's at my mother's house, in her pantry, still sealed up.

It has been a couple of years since I've been near a WS, but as I recall, they started marking the food products down a couple of days before Christmas, so keep an eye on it.

WS is always first on my list for day after christmas shopping. They mark the food items at least 50 percent off and if you stop back buy after a week or so whats left is usually 75 % off. Can't say no to that! I love their stuff. :lovestruc
