Well, the day has finally arrived.
We have both worked half a day, the kids are at school and nursery and we're dashing about doing all the exciting things like bleaching the toilets etc. :rotfl2:
Off to a wine bar or pub shortly with my parents (who are coming with us), and then picking the children up.
Our mini bus is due at 3:40pm and then we're off to Premier Inn at Gatwick.
Got to pick my nephew up on the way too.

We fly tomorrow at 10:50am on the Dreamliner to Sanford, arriving at 15:25 Florida time, and we are staying for 3 weeks at Vista Cay Resort, quite near Aquatica.

The group consists of:

ME (35)
DH (33)
DS (5)
DS (2)
My Mum (61)
My Dad (65)
My Newphew & Godson (15)

Will try to post again tonight once we're checked in at our hotel and hopefully enjoying a small alcoholic beverage.

Following along...:thumbsup2

Looking forward to hearing your opinions on the Premier Inn Gatwick. Are you staying at the one by the North Terminal? We are staying there in 17 days time!!! Nearly time!!

Have a great time and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it!

You should be on you way now :thumbsup2 looking forward to your updates, we will be there at the end of October :thumbsup2

Have a good and safe journey and I may unknowingly pass you when we are out there next week!

Until then, I'll be following your report! :cool1:

Well we've checked in and DS5 is asleep but DS2 is still wide awake. Journey from Milton Keynes took 3 and a half hours so pretty nasty but the boys behaved wonderfully. We had a drink at a local pub first and picked the boys up. They were so excited bless them. I know my youngest doesn't quite understand but I just don't know how my eldest is coping with all this excitement. He's just 5! I'm so proud of them both.
Anyway, Premier Inn North terminal is just across the road from departures. Great location. Can't give feedback on the food as we ate in the car on our journey down but the check inn staff were brilliant and did it all for us.
Just off to sleep shortly and then will be up at about 5.30am to blow dry my crazy curls!
I hope to post some photos but I think I need a photo bucket account?
DS5 says he's nervous for the flight bless him. His name is Oliver and the little one is George.
Night night everyone!

If so, it's fab, you won't be disapponted!

Have a great time.

I will be interested to hear what you think about the Dreamliner as we will be doing exactly the same flight on 19th Oct.:cheer2:

Well, we're here. It's 5:30am Florida time as I type this.

Here's a quick summary of the last 24 hours:

Premier Inn was lovely, really nice. Staff were so helpful at check, bathroom was immaculate (I always check the bath sealant for black bits but I couldn't find any so that made me smile) - It's the small things right? :rotfl2:

Mum and Dad were in room 666 which made us all chuckle, but they survived the night...LOL!

A quick walk across the road to departures, a very smooth and quick check in, again, lovely staff.

Then we grabbed a bacon roll and I ran about the shops grabbing myself a few treats (Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, Molton Brown Shower Gel and a cute little Owl bracelet from Accesorize).

Then we ran out of time, so we walked to our gate, which was 47, and pretty much got straight on the plane.

The Dreamliner itself was lovely, high ceilings, large windows.

We were in Premium and had the most wonderful cabin crew member called James.
He wore Mickey ears the whole way there bless him, and adored my boys, esp. George (my youngest).

Lovely food, great entertainment, a mixture of old and new films, although with 2 kids all I managed was the 45 min 1 Direction documentary, and that took me about 6 hours to watch in 3-4 mins sections! :rotfl2:

We were delayed by about 15 mins due to the luggage cart breaking down so it took them a few extra mins to load the suitcases and we were off.

George wasn't really that bothered by the take off, but Oliver who is 5 giggled his head off with excitement. It was adorable.

In the departure lounge at Gatwick he cuddled my Mum and said he was so excited and he squeaked with excitment, he couldn't keep it in. Made my Mum blub.

When we were getting all stressed out with each other on the way to the gate, George said 'Mummy, I so 'cited' which lightened the stress levels loads.

Kids are amazing and always say the right thing at the right time when you need them too. :lovestruc

Anyway, lovely flight, only 8 hours so we arrived about 2:30pm UK time, usual miserable staff at the airport security bit, but our immigration officer was lovely and was chatting to my boys, and he put a Mickey mouse stamp in their passports which was cute.
I love all those little small details that make your trip special.

By the time we'd got through Mum and Dad and Sam had already got the suitcases which was fab. No waiting about worrying if our cases had arrived safely. I hate that bit.

HOT HOT HOT when we stepped out of the airport. Lovely.
I closed my eyes for a second and was smiling inside so much.

This trip was booked 18 months ago and hubby and I have worked hard to save for it so it felt wonderful to step out into the warm Florida sunshine.

I looked across the street and there was William our chauffer waiting for us with a massive smile on his face. He was lovely and just what we needed after the scary airport staff.

A quick 35 min drive and we arrived at Vista Cay (George calls it Mr Cay which is cute).

Our condo is massive and lovely.
It over looks a lake and we can see the roller coasters of Sea World on the other side of the lake.
Oliver thinks this is fab.

We unpacked all our stuff and made the boys some toast, and then headed off to the pool.
It was about 6pm by now.

The complex looks lovely but we'll explore tomorrow as we're going to have a pool day tomorrow.

Had a lovely swim as the sun set over the lake and then DH (Simon) and Sam popped to get pizza.
Oliver fell asleep first, but George was still full of beans running about.

We all went to bed at 9pm which would have been 2am by our body clocks so I think we all did OK.

Oliver's just woken up now and I don't think George will be long now too.

We're off to DHS today and Oliver is very excited about going on Tower of Terror but he's just said that we can go on Great Movie Ride first as it's not fair on George cuz he's too small for TOT. Bless him, so thoughtful.

Well, I'm gonna grab a cuppa tea soon and then we'll all be running about getting ready for our 1st proper day!

:cheer2::cool1::cheer2::cool1::cheer2::cool1:

Bye for now! x

Sounds really good so far :thumbsup2 Hope you have a great day at HS :cool1:

Oops...meant to say that James the lovely steward asked if Oliver & George wanted to meet the pilot.
I didn't think they did that anymore so we were so chuffed.
The pilot was lovely and the boys were very excited.

Sounds like everythings going well so far, it's pretty cool that your sons got to meet the pilot. Enjoy your day at DHS :goodvibes

WOW ! My boys would be super jealous.

So glad the holiday has a very magical start ...hope you're having a lovely day I'm looking forward to hearing all about it

What wonderful little touches to make the holiday start so well. I'm so thrilled for you all.

I've only just see that you live in Milton Keynes - so do we! We moved here 5 months ago and really love it! We are in Orlando in December, so if you need anything bringing back, I can do that for you.

Pam

Sounds fantastic and you sound just like me....I have also saved so hard to take my DS7 and DS4 to the most magical place on earth and it sounds like your boys are as excited as mine!

We leave in five days and your post has just increased my excitement levels! It's great to hear you're off to a great start and I hope you continue to have a wonderful time!

I hope you don't mind me asking hut how have your boys been with the jet lag? X
