I doubt this is something we would do. I could only see us doing this if we were to take a non-Disney trip to Orlando and decide to do one evening at MK. Otherwise, this makes no sense to me. I just don't see the value unless there are details or special experiences that are going to happen during that time that Disney hasn't told us about yet. For the people it works for, more power to you.

Oh .. I am sure there are PLENTY of people that stay on-site for EMH. But I would argue, that is the minority.

I would argue that offering a 4th Fast Pass would get just as many heads in beds, if not more ... .especially to NEW or first-time guests. I mean there are people who choose to stay on-site now JUST for that extra 30 days to snag the 3 Fast Passes that are offered. (In some cases it is the only way to get Fast Passes for the "hot" attractions.

What is an easier "sell" to a new visitor? Get a 4th fast pass to skip a fourth line every day of your trip.
Or getting the option to go to a park(you maybe weren't planning on going to that day) super early or super late? A lot of families will just go "meh" .. we aren't early risers and we don't want to stay late and that' won't be a factor in their decision to stay onsite. They may use EMH, but won't be part of the reason they made that decision.

My sister-in-law and her family came to WDW last summer. I (a veteran), noticed the day we planned on going to MK was a morning EMH. I told everyone we were getting up early to make it there. (Got there (with my wife, 3-year old son and grandparents) at like 7:50 AM). We had a blast that first hour. My sister-in-laws family (two toddlers) said NO WAY .. we aren't getting up an hour early to get to the park by 8:00 . .and they rolled in at 9:30 that morning. EMH was not the reason they chose to stay on-site.

I think if Disney had enough FP inventory to use extra instead of say..... room discounts or EMH, they would have done so already.

Totally depends on how many tickets they sell.
Yeah and they have not guarantee anything and you still have a limited amount of attractions open. So if this was my one day at the MK I will be missing out on everything that is closed.

If I had to decide right now, with no reports from people who have experienced it, I would agree. I'll wait and see before I decide its value to me.

I'm so glad that we decided to take a break from Disney for awhile. Maybe after a few failures (whatever happened to to the ferry dessert parties???) Disney execs will get back to basics and make WDW what it used to be. This blatant money grubbing is such a turnoff to me. And yeah, yeah, yeah, shareholders, etc. Whatever. I'm a shareholder and a guest, and both parts of me are shuddering over this. As a shareholder, I realize that a large part of the profits come from happy guests. Disney management seems to have lost track of that. Ugh.

Although I wouldn't do it, I really do not see this as being that crazy or out of line when considering some of the other expensive options at Disney World.

For example, people routinely spend $800-$1,000 a night for a room at the Polynesian. A family of 4 could stay at a moderate resort, eat a couple of CS meals, and attend the evening after hours event for the same price that another family of 4 spends just on their room. It's all a matter of what you prefer.

Another example, although I love eating fine food, I would much rather spend $150 for the extra evening hours (assuming they truly do offer drastically reduced crowds and walk-on at all the rides) than spend $250-$300 for one meal at Victoria & Alberts. Last I heard, V&A's was not exactly having to beg people to eat there. Again, it is just a matter of spending your money on what you prefer.

As a family that usually doesn't mind spending money for/on vacations, I would not do this for our family of 4 (dd-22/ds-18).
An extra $600 to be in the parks a few extra hours? I know how to tour and what we need to do to get all accomplished.
For an extra $600 I would rather book two more Signature restaurants. For a family with young children, I wouldn't even consider
this option, although we use to attend the parties (did each once and that was enough).

I have my lodging (DVC) and tickets covered for our upcoming December trip and even though I have those expenses covered and not
spending money on them and going at an extremely crazy busy time, I'm not spending $600 for the opportunity to be at the parks
any earlier or later.

I voted maybe and I am seriously considering it. I'll be there for the first date in April, and I have always wanted to be in the park alone without my family (yes, I'm a weirdo like that), and I especially love MK late at night. I also have a FOMO, and think that if I don't go, I might regret it later. My husband thinks I should do it, while he and DS13 do something else, but I'm still on the fence. I'm sure we'll be at the EMH the night before until the bitter end, so that's the thing that has me wondering if I should just not bother. I'm so torn right now....

I never say never... but NEVER!
I'd rather spend the same amount for a day for 3 at Cedar Point for two and have access to over 150 rides & attractions.

No. Hubby and I were talking about this last night for our upcoming trip in May. We never stay that late at MK anyways.

That, quite simply... is supply and demand. They're a business.

I agree with you, this is Disney testing to see how far they can go before the demand ebbs. But this is something that will stop me from demanding their supply.
It just isn't reasonable for a normal family who travels to WDW frequently. Maybe less frequently in the future. I love the place, but not for me. It takes every bit of energy I have just to stay for fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Then I go back to my resort and collapse on the bed.

You'll hear great things about April, because no one will be doing it with such short notice. You'll hear about riding the Mine Train 15 times in a row with no wait. Then, when you do it in July, you and 20,000 of your closest friends will be looking for those same non-existent lines the April crowd experienced and you'll be lucky to wait less than 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, Disney will be dancing all of the way to the bank.

If so few people purchase tickets that riding 7DMT 15 times in a row with no wait is possible, Disney will cancel the event.

No. Absolutely not. I think the price is beyond ridiculous.

They do bill this as a "limited ticket event" so maybe they will truly be limited. HOWEVER - was the Villain Party a "limited ticket event"?? Because that was a total disaster.

Don't even get me started on this! Disaster is putting it mildly. I have never been so upset on a vacation. Ever. We ended up leaving the park and getting comp tickets to Epcot for the remainder of the night. We moved our travel dates to be here for this and meet the rare characters. Didn't get to meet a single one and due to complete lack of information from CMs missed out on every single special item available. Ugh!

Did they promise "no wait"?

This. Here is the kicker. I think people are thinking it will be walk on everything. I seriously, seriously doubt it. IF that was the case and IF I was meeting rare characters, riding with characters and had some refreshment other than coke I MIGHT entertain the idea of this.

I was one of the few that voted yes.

We are a family of 3, and DH doesn't join us every trip. So the cost isn't quite as difficult to swallow. (If we were a large family, then probably not.)

DD is a teen, and we can handle the late nights.

I reserve the right to change my vote if.......
the "much more" isn't really more at all
the "limited number" seems busier than regular park hours
a majority of the rides are not operating
