I liked the E-Ride nights we had, I think we paid $20 for them? rode BTMRR 7 times in a row......but noooooooo, I am poor.....like other said, that's like a 1/4 of an annual pass! for 3 hours!

I have a bad feeling about this. (see what I did there?)

Let's, just for fun, tie this to the fact that MNSSHP dates and prices aren't announced yet. Anybody wanna guess how much hard ticket party prices will go up this year? 50%? 100%?

I think you are on to something there.

I'd pay twice as much if Disney would let half as many people in for these events

When Disney did its survey asking people if they would be willing to pay extra for extra hours with limited attendance, did they attach a dollar figure to that? I wonder if people were thinking about E-Ticket Night pricing and figuring that the perk would cost $20-$50 and said "yes". At which point poll results might have shown a greater enthusiasm than the 5% that is currently voting "yes" to this poll. Then again, if 5% of 100,000 guests agree to pay for the event, that is 5,000 people, and maybe that is all that Disney wants or expects each week.

Wow. I hadn't thought about that. I will predict cheaper than this new event. But I easily see the price going from $82ish to $105-110. Make it a round $125 just because...

Although I wouldn't do it, I really do not see this as being that crazy or out of line when considering some of the other expensive options at Disney World.

For example, people routinely spend $800-$1,000 a night for a room at the Polynesian. A family of 4 could stay at a moderate resort, eat a couple of CS meals, and attend the evening after hours event for the same price that another family of 4 spends just on their room. It's all a matter of what you prefer.

Another example, although I love eating fine food, I would much rather spend $150 for the extra evening hours (assuming they truly do offer drastically reduced crowds and walk-on at all the rides) than spend $250-$300 for one meal at Victoria & Alberts. Last I heard, V&A's was not exactly having to beg people to eat there. Again, it is just a matter of spending your money on what you prefer.
Exactly. V&A's is full every night. In fact, it is hard to get a seat. Which means people are paying hundreds of dollars for one meal.

Heck. We might do it. If it was truly limited admission. And there were character meet and greets. Add in drinks and snacks. Yes. I could see doing it.

There aren't enough snacks, meets, low crowds, etc in the world that would get me to pay an additional $150 per person to do this. For my daughter & myself that's $300, the cost of a 3 day base ticket!! Or a few meals.
And a family of 4- $600 :-0 that's just crazy. :sad2:

I also don't do dessert parties, esp since they went up so much. How many desserts can one eat? For $50 I can have a nice dinner at Narcossees or Cali Grill and watch Wishes from the restaurant.

If they get many people willing to part with their $$$ to pay I can see them cancelling free EMH. Why give it away for free when they can milk the cash cow?

I'd be particularly upset if EMH was cancelled esp paying the price to stay at a monorail resort to get easy access to MK. And it lessens the value of staying anywhere on site.
Hello Hotel Circle hotels!!

V&A is a Michelin starred resturant quality experience. This is a overpriced theme park experience. I'd pay for V&A. No way would I pay for this.

Have they said anything about this replacing EMH ?
It's speculation at this point, about cancelling all MK EMH, But I think on these days they wouldn't have EMH, so maybe replacing some EMH for paid event?

I remember back when they were doing the Princess & Pirate parties, we had a short trip of 4 days planned, and we were staying at WL to get to EMH easily. It was only 1 MK EMH sched during our stay, then they cancelled it to add another party  I see no reason given past history that they wouldn't do this again. So yes, prob some EMH will be replaced.

Perhaps my husband and I would. It would be a chance to do everything in Fantasyland without being run over by strollers.

ETA: But I would not bring my girls. Too late and too much money.

This event is on Thursday nights in April and May (except May 8, which is a Sunday). Evening EMH at MK is currently scheduled on Wednesday nights. they have not at this time been cancelled. they didn't previously have any EMH scheduled on Thursday nights at MK in April or May. All these Thursdays except the 14th have morning EMH at Epcot (the 14th has morning at Animal Kingdom). May 8 is scheduled for morning EMH at Studios.

Not a chance! Thinking I would shell out $600 for our family to enjoy the park for 3 extra hours is insane!

Their stance right now is that EMH will continue. This event will run on non-EMH MK nights.

The justification for the crazy price increases and surge pricing is that crowds are too high (too many customers... what a bad problem) and they don't have the capacity (see the thread about CMs calling folks to ask them to change their FPs). Well one way to add capacity is to add hours, both general and EMH. So sure, technically they might not at this point, be replacing all the EMH but traditionally they would have extended hours (general and EMH) to meet demand. Now instead they will simply add a ticketed event at $150 per person for 3 hours..)

They're adding a ticketed event only on Thursday nights (and one Sunday). Recently, I don't remember heavily extended hours on Thursday nights in a non-peak period (almost 3 weeks after Easter, it's not a peak period). On weekends in very busy periods, yes.
