A poll to see how many will NOT fly Jetblue because of the lastest wait on the runway.

Just curious as a friend is thinking about what airline to use.

I will, Jet Blue had great customer service up to last week. I will continue to give them my business. If it happens again then I will think about it but until then, Jet Blue is my airline of choice.

Yeah , last weeks mess was horrendous but before that JET BLUE was fantastic. I hope they learned from their mistake and provide better service because of it.

I bought 9 R/T Jet Blue tickets last week.

Absolutely, we're flying them this June for the third time. I think they'd have to make another really major mistake in order for me to no longer fly with them. They screwed up but overall I think JB is still a great airline.

Still love Jet Blue......great customer service, cushy seats, t.v., new planes.

Few years ago we were attemping to leave Jamaica and sat on the runway for 4 1/2 hours...all we received was an I'm sorry. I am convinced it was a slow news day for this story to have so much steam.

I agree with Safetymom - give it a week and we'll see threads 'I'll never fly XYZ again!'

I also think that your poll needs some refinement along the lines of

  • if you are a current JetBlue customer, would you continue to fly them
  • if you have never flown JetBlue, would you fly them in future if fares remain the same
  • if you have never flown JetBlue, will you fly them if they offer a great sale

Jet Blue has always provide me with great customer service in the past. I'm willing to forgive this - especially with them (1) admitting error, (2) making things right, (3) doing what it takes to prevent problems in the future.

Runway wait is not the issue IMHO. FIVE days to recover from a mild storm... that's an issue!

I would not hesitate flying Jet Blue. I have clients on JB and I have been tracking the ewr-mco flights and they haven't had a problem. Newark didn't seem to be to affected and I tracked a few JFK-Mco flights and they were also good.

We just booked JetBlue today for June. They had the best prices 178.00 round trip per person from Boston to Orlando (there are 4 of us). SW wants 296.00 round trip. :scared1:
For a savings of 472.00, I'm willing to give JetBlue a chance.

Next week it could be another airline.
Absolutely. What we experienced was a reflection of the industry, not the one airline. It isn't clear to me that another airline would actually seriously consider making changes in response to an event like this, so that's actually extra points for JetBlue.

The one thing that folks do need to keep in mind, though, is that when they choose JetBlue (or Southwest or AirTran) they're choosing an airline that does not have interline agreements, and so you're getting a lesser product than if you choose one of the other major airlines -- just be sure that risk is worth the lower price you get.

Look, I'm a huge fan of Jet Blue and will gladly fly them again. But Jet Blue's problems resulted from structural flaws in Jet Blue. They grew too fast - they expanded their routes without having the structural infrastructure to support it. They admit it - why defend them?

This is going to be a classic Business School case for years to come...

As for the interline thing - I've been a reasonably heavy flier for 20 years. I've yet to see a problem where it came into play. I know it does, but it's totally minor.

Besides, it's just one more factor in the airline's delay statistics. If an airline averages 10 missed flights due to problems, and is able to fix one of those through interline agreements, that's still 9 missed flights. An airline with only 8 missed flights is better, even with no interline agreement.

I have no stats to back this up, but I think my chances are better with an airline that has a simplified fleet and flexible union agreements over a less flexible carrier with an interline agreement.

SYR to MCO on a Monday to a Thursday at the end of March when school is in session. Cost $311 after taxes, but well worth it for a nonstop. (We rarely see these really low prices that many other cities see, so consider yourselves lucky. :) )

Yup!:thumbsup2
I will be flying with them in 11 days for my 1st solo trip:)
I will be flying with them in 89 days for my 2nd solo trip pirate:
And when fares are released, I will most likely be flying them for my Dec trip.:santa:

Yes, I would fly JetBlue if the price was right. Every time I have flown them, I have had a problem (aborted take-off, delays, lost luggage), and I have still flown them. They aren't any different from any other airline in that respect.

As for the storm problems, I don't worry about these, because if a major storm is predicted, I modify my travel plans. You know there are going to be problems.

We were one of the lucky ones stuck at our resort (BCV) on the 14th and were able to transfer to another resort (BWV) for one night and then another (SSR) for two more. (longer story for another post) We finally left on Saturday 2-17 and were stuck in a 4 hour delay to Syracuse. I will try Jetblue again. My husband wants to try Southwest out of Albany instead - a longer drive for us. I appreciated the way the agents we dealt with at the Orlando airport handled themselves under the extreme pressure. Camera crews were there & people were way on edge. Also liked the fact that the CEO took the hit and admitted the blunders. I hated the fact that we kept calling and were hung up on several times after being told about the high volume of calls. We spent 3 days on the phone trying to get home. Have not received word on a refund - waiting and hoping as we sent our comments and were told we would hear back. Others we knew were worse off - spending 9 hours delayed at Syracuse airport on Thursday 2-15.
