Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Yep, we will have a lot of "Call this white wine" "Call this...whatever" LOL! Although actually I have my kiosk passport and menus are on all ears so that always helps. Holy cats did I take a lot of pictures! Have to upload them all and I haven't finished editing my summer trip ones yet (though I'm still a day or 2 ahead of the TR at least).

Thank goodness for the passport. Seriously, I can't wait to go back next. The first thing I am doing is getting my passport and then I am going to check off absolutely everything. I am going to be a nerd and wear a pen around my neck. :lmao:

I had 4 different glasses of wine my last night there. They were mostly all good. I loved the ice wine but it was like a thimble sized serving for $5. I was like...what???????

Oh I'm glad to hear that, I felt like I kind of made you go there due to my time constraints. I really liked it. Just the whole vibe was really cool and I know the E's will love it.

You totally didn't make me go there. You know I don't do what I don't want to do. I'm glad we went. It was a really nice area.

It was the cutest thing. I wanted to text you a picture, but I didn't have my phone.

I would love to of that on the big trip but we'd need 2 boats and then it just gets priced out of reach.

Yeah - I bet that is a bit ridiculous. Well, if we ever do F&W together again (or another trip), we should think about getting a group together for it. It really looks like a blast.

Back to the big trip - I really can't wait to here about your plans. I'm so excited for you in regards to your recent point acquisition. :thumbsup2

Spontaneous TS. Isn't that an oxymoron? :lmao: We did manage it twice though and they were both really great meals!

There were. I agree. I've never really done that before and now I know it's not impossible.

:lmao: nothing like a good cup of coffee on the verandah.

BTW - what was the name of that Starbucks that you ordered. I really want to get some of that. It really was the perfect morning coffee. I know they have Starbucks at Costco, but I want to make sure I get the same thing. Some of their blends can be a little strong for me. That was perfect.

Me: Come On Denny. Put your eyeballs back in their sockets.

Denny: I ain't going to no d@^^n Gatlinburg......uhm...wait....What did you say?
:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Got a good chuckle out of that!

I love all your pictures, especially the ones from around China! So gorgeous in around there!
Your meal looks lovely, my mouth is watering and I don't even like seafood or red meat! Your pictures look like cookbook pictures, you know, good enough to make you want to try it?
Awesome IllumiNations pictures too! I love that show. I miss that show!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Got a good chuckle out of that!

Gatlinburg was high on the topics of discussion that evening, especially since we had just seen the Gatlinburg again in the world showcase. :rotfl:

I love all your pictures, especially the ones from around China! So gorgeous in around there!

Thanks! I haven't been in China for awhile, so I'm glad we took the time to explore a bit. Every country is so beautiful and so detailed. I would love to go back an do that Segway tour again (did it several years ago) just to see all the details again.

I love fish and seafood, but I am not a huge fan of beef. Every one in awhile I order a filet (like at Le Cellier), but Denny's filet did look really delish. I forgot how much so until I looked at the pictures again. Yum!

Awesome IllumiNations pictures too! I love that show. I miss that show!

I miss it too. Shockingly I only saw it once in October and I spent about half of the show in the bathroom. Yup - not the most perfect timing to have a little GI meltdown! :sad2:

Just wear a lanyard and attach it, would work fine! I will say, the wristlet cards were SO much easier, I was crabby when mine ran out and I did a small reload once. A thimble for $5 would have made me cranky. For the most part though I thought portion sizes were quite good for the prices.

You totally didn't make me go there. You know I don't do what I don't want to do. I'm glad we went. It was a really nice area.

I'm glad we went too, I honestly think that tipped me over and started the add on wheels turning! I spent the plane ride back mapping out the big trip in points and costs for the others. It was funny, I'd actually called my rep before we left but she was on vacation and it wasn't a rush. So glad she was on vacation as if not, I'd have probably bought at SSR again which was the original plan. If it was available that is. It's interesting, it was when I'd spoken to her about a month prior but when I did the actual add on, it wasn't. But it might have been had she been in the week prior. Meant to be :goodvibes

Yeah, I'd love to do a big cool event but right now the prices look daunting based on the number I think we have. We will see. It was magical though!

There were. I agree. I've never really done that before and now I know it's not impossible.

Our location choices helped, I do think there are some you could walk up to at most times, even for dinner, but since these were for lunch I think that was a
huge factor as well.

BTW - what was the name of that Starbucks that you ordered. I really want to get some of that. It really was the perfect morning coffee. I know they have Starbucks at Costco, but I want to make sure I get the same thing. Some of their blends can be a little strong for me. That was perfect.

It's the Gold Coast Blend. Which is 6 different beans from 4 different regions. One of my favorites. She got it from an actual store so it was the regular version I think but they are packaging it in the grocery stores as Gold Coast Blend®: Morning Joe Edition. Costco usually has House Blend (BLEH) and French Roast and historically that's been it. I haven't looked to see if they have something different since we love the San Francisco Organics Rain Forest Blend they sell there and drink that every day (having a cup now in my Animal Kingdom Mickey Head mug!). But that's whole bean and we grind each morning. Costco will grind for you though. On the K cup side, they aren't making Gold Coast yet in it. Closest would be Anniversary Blend, Sumatra or even the Pike Place Blend though that will be lighter.

Sorry but I cosmically sensed there was a coffee conversation going on somewhere and the force led me here...:yoda:....:rotfl2:

Yes...:coffee: I'm drinking it too... Gold Coast... Mary Ellen -I've seen it a lot more around here as Morning Joe Blend...It's my go to blend...it's not too strong but definitely hardy...(I can go stronger) but I can serve that to guests and they usually really like it unless they like very very mild coffee)

If you don't have a grinder or don't want to do that... you can pick up the whole bean bags and carefully open them...and grind them at the store... I've made a talent of getting those bags carefully open and closed again...

Thanks for the Coffee Ed...Cynthia... I didn't know about the 6 beans from 4 regions...;) That's probably why it has such a smooth finish...

Ok - Cynthia - you're going to have to fess up soon on the add-on. :)

I enjoyed a cup of coffee in my AK animal head mug this a.m. today too! It wasn't starbucks however. :scared1:

Sorry for the hijack! Lol

Yep, it was actually created specifically for the launch of starbucks in Chicago. Hence the original name. They just recently rebranded it with the morning joe name and I was worried it had been altered but doesn't appear so.

Mine wasn't either, starbucks that is. Ooh the pressure to confess! You guys are cracking up. Which I really need this morning as my heart is heavy with health news from far too many people that I care about.

I'm sorry about your loved ones, I hope everything is ok.

What a great update! I'm just in awe of your ability to capture familiar sights from unique angles and create such amazing pictures!

I have never tried Bistro but it is definitely on my to-do list and I'm very curious to see how things change with the refurb. Question for you... how, if at all, do you think your opinion/review would change if you hadn't had the window view to Illuminations? I've heard that there are only (currently) a few tables with that view... is that the case?

I am longing to go back.... gosh, I love it there! :goodvibes

Thank you for such a nice compliment. You know - your pictures aren't to shabby either. I love them.

Thank you so much :goodvibes

We have been slowly checking off the signatures and I thought it would be fun to go there since we were staying at the Boardwalk. I narrowed it down between the Bistro and the Yachtsman. I'm glad I picked the Bistro because it was such a great experience.

Talking about wonderful restaurants, are you planning to do Remy or Palo on your cruise, or is this too early to ask cruise questions?

I absolutely loved that duckling story, too cute.

What fantastic photos you took at Epcot.
I have only seen the country movies once each.
Every guy by the dancer in Morocco are so entranced. LOL
The view from the restaurant is really nice.
White wine sounds good. LOL
Both entrees looked really good.
Great shots of Illuminations.
Sounds like a great day to me.

Hey guys - I probably won't get to replies until this evening. Church music X 2 today and then I am actually meeting my brother at a guitar store to play electric guitars. His guitar instructor will be there to guide him in a purchase and if I can find a reasonably priced guitar/amp I may take the plunge. Only problem is I live in a tax free state, so I don't want to pay PA sales tax. I want to see if I can make the same purchase from a Delaware store or Denny will NOT be happy.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Me too me too!!! I just love talking/thinking/dreaming about points. :hyper:

I'm sorry about your loved ones, I hope everything is ok.

Thanks Pam. It isn't but planning future trips does help ease things a bit for all of us I think.

well my guitar shopping plans got foiled thanks to the Traffics gods and an unexpected Sunday afternoon road closure. I should be jamming on some guitars right now, but instead I'm home. So on to replies.

Just wear a lanyard and attach it, would work fine! I will say, the wristlet cards were SO much easier, I was crabby when mine ran out and I did a small reload once. A thimble for $5 would have made me cranky. For the most part though I thought portion sizes were quite good for the prices.

I'll figure out a passport system for next year, because that was really fun. It makes you realize how much there is to try.

Wristlet = :thumbsup2

Nermel (Jen) posted a picture of the ice wine which was quite a bit larger than what was served to me. :(

I'm glad we went too, I honestly think that tipped me over and started the add on wheels turning! I spent the plane ride back mapping out the big trip in points and costs for the others. That's great that you found the place where you wanted to add on. I always thought I would do an SSR add-on, too but I always secretly hoped for AK or BWV. Weird because I had never stayed at BWV, I just knew I would like it. Having two different home resorts definitely has its pros and cons. It's a little harder to keep track of, but you are uber organized so you'll be on top of it.

Yeah, I'd love to do a big cool event but right now the prices look daunting based on the number I think we have. We will see. It was magical though!

So wait until you have a smaller group. I would imagine that herding a big group for something like that might take some of the magic out of it simply because its more stressful.

Our location choices helped, I do think there are some you could walk up to at most times, even for dinner, but since these were for lunch I think that was a
huge factor as well.

Definitely lunch was the key. But now I am going to try more lunch TS like that simply because I liked it better.

Thanks for giving me the name. I'm sure I asked when we were there and I do remember the 6 bean thing. I really don't want to buy Starbucks in the k-cups because I think they are too expensive. I'll get the Gold Coast or whatever Patricia said its called over here. I'll just use my plastic k-cup for it. I do use the San Francisco blend right now. I get it at BJs.

Sorry but I cosmically sensed there was a coffee conversation going on somewhere and the force led me here...:yoda:....:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Haha - that is too funny! But I completely understand from one coffee queen to another!

Yes...:coffee: I'm drinking it too... Gold Coast... You described it perfectly. I don't like really mild coffee and I also don't like it too strong. This blend is just right!

If you don't have a grinder or don't want to do that... you can pick up the whole bean bags and carefully open them...and grind them at the store... I've made a talent of getting those bags carefully open and closed again...

Good to know! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Coffee Ed...Cynthia... I didn't know about the 6 beans from 4 regions...;) That's probably why it has such a smooth finish...

Wine and coffee. Just ask Cynthia. She knows all that stuff.

Ok - Cynthia - you're going to have to fess up soon on the add-on. :)

I know! I am just dying to know the specifics, but I know she doesn't want to jinx it.

I enjoyed a cup of coffee in my AK animal head mug this a.m. today too! It wasn't starbucks however. :scared1:

Doesn't everything just taste so much better in that mug. That is definitely my go-to mug, especially when I am having a hard time waking up. Makes the morning so much better.

Sorry for the hijack! Lol

No problem. Hijack away.

Yep, it was actually created specifically for the launch of starbucks in Chicago. Hence the original name. They just recently rebranded it with the morning joe name and I was worried it had been altered but doesn't appear so.

Morning Joe just sounds so regular. I like Gold Coast better - much more exotic. Hey - just put me in the marketing department. :rotfl:

Mine wasn't either, starbucks that is. Ooh the pressure to confess! You guys are cracking up. Which I really need this morning as my heart is heavy with health news from far too many people that I care about.

I am so sorry to hear that your friends/family are facing health issues. I sincerely hope and prayer that its not anything serious.

Me too me too!!! I just love talking/thinking/dreaming about points. :hyper:

:rotfl2: Well, I know I won't be adding any more points anytime soon as Denny and I have the perfect amount for just the two of us. It's bringing other people that makes me wish more would fall out of the sky. I do loving dreaming about how to use them. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry about your loved ones, I hope everything is ok.

Ditto.

What a great update! I'm just in awe of your ability to capture familiar sights from unique angles and create such amazing pictures!

Thanks C. That is such a nice compliment!

Question for you... how, if at all, do you think your opinion/review would change if you hadn't had the window view to Illuminations? I've heard that there are only (currently) a few tables with that view... is that the case?

That's actually a really good question. Hmmmmm...... I mean watching Illuminations from the seat and watching the sun set across the world showcase was definitely magical. I just it may have taken away from overall experience, but the food, wine, and wait staff were still really top notch so I'm sure I would enjoy it nearly as much.

I am longing to go back.... gosh, I love it there! :goodvibes

I know. I was ready to turn right around again and head back. I am pretty happy that we are going in June, even though its an off site family trip. October is going to be wonderful and I can't wait to see if Denny enjoys F&W as much as I did. Then with more AP to use, I think Denny and I will return for F&G in 2014. Maybe our trips will overlap and we can get together for a visit! Then I would like to plan a California trip for fall 2014. I am very curious to see DL.

Thank you so much :goodvibes

:thumbsup2

Talking about wonderful restaurants, are you planning to do Remy or Palo on your cruise, or is this too early to ask cruise questions?

I think Palo is the least expensive of the two, correct? Shame on me, I need to get back into the cruise planning mode because I can't believe I am confusing the two. But if that is correct, then yes - I have heard wonderful things about the Palo brunch and I would also like to try for a dinner. Since this is our first cruise I will probably save Remy for a return visit.

I absolutely loved that duckling story, too cute.

You have never since three adults so enthralled with what was happening in that pool. When the little duck finally made it out of the pool the man who was on that end of the pool called over to us - "he made it". It was so funny.

What fantastic photos you took at Epcot.

Thank you!

I have only seen the country movies once each.

I am such a movie nerd. I love watching them. I always did like that kind of stuff when I was a little kid. Why should I change now?

Every guy by the dancer in Morocco are so entranced. LOL

:rotfl: I bet there are a lot of guys walking into things and spilling drinks over there.

The view from the restaurant is really nice.

It was lovely. Such a different perspective of the world showcase.

White wine sounds good. LOL

You mean as opposed to red and sparkling? :lmao:

Both entrees looked really good.

The food was very enjoyable.

Great shots of Illuminations.
Sounds like a great day to me.

Thanks. We really did have a fun day considering we were finally alone, just the two of us. That was nice!

Thanks Pam. It isn't but planning future trips does help ease things a bit for all of us I think.

I couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2

Go Big or Go Home

Day 10 June 18th 2012

So we are on the home stretch of the TR guys. It's our last full day in the world. But if you think I am going to wrap this last day up quickly, think again because I took over 500 pictures today.

But first, I found the menu from the Bistro de Paris and cropped it so you can actually read the Prix Fix Menu

IMG_4089-1.jpg

The mystery to our meals is finally solved!

In other news, does anyone remember this?

IMG_4304.jpg

That's the duck egg nest in K&T's backyard - actually right outside the lanai. (my Daytona beach friend's house) 7 eggs. Count them.

Remember mama duck?

IMG_4303.jpg

Well T texted me this picture yesterday

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Yup - that's the duck family. I count 5 ducks and I actually wonder if that is a 6th duck to the left of the tree. Not bad odds.

Honestly, how cool is that?

Moving on......

Since this was our last full day in the world, we really needed to make the most of it. Months ago I had scheduled us a Boma breakfast. The plan was to hit MK for a few rides in the morning and then swing on over to AKL. However, a quick glance at the crowd calendar/park hours earlier in the week told me that this was an early EMH day. That meant I was going to have to work hard to get there in time, especially if I want to go for a run.

So for the first time this vacation I set an alarm. And I actually managed to listen to it and get our of bed. I can't even tell you how much I didn't want to run. It took a couple cups of coffee and every ounce of encouragement I could muster to get out the door.

Surprisingly, it turned out to be a pleasant run. Highly edited cell phone reflection picture

I can't remember exactly which route I ran this morning, but it looks like I started to head to HS.

But I also must have ran around the Boardwalk over to BC because I took this picture. I have always wanted to take this picture with my regular camera and for some reason I am never in the spot.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

I got a quick shower and soon it was time to head off to AK.

IMG_5062.jpg

How close were we to the 8am park opening? Judge for yourself......

IMG_5063.jpg

Not bad considering that's the time we hit the Tree of Life.

We were walking briskly to get to EE, but this little guy caught my eye because he just looked cool

IMG_5064.jpg

IMG_5065.jpg

I am posting this next picture simply because I have no recollection of taking it. Any guess where/what this is?

IMG_5066.jpg

I obviously took it near here

Getting closer to our destination

IMG_5075.jpg

Blurry like the belly dancer. I have to learn to slow down more.

IMG_5076.jpg

We went through the standby line

IMG_5080.jpg

IMG_5082.jpg

I think this foot print is pretty cool, even though this picture isn't.

IMG_5084.jpg

I got smart and suggested to Denny that we asked for front row. Of course, this time I remembered to tell him BEFORE we got to the end of the queue. It works so much better that way.

Continued In Next Post.........

Love the front row queue since I am convinced that 75% of park attendees have no idea its there.

IMG_5085.jpg

Up we go

From the ride

IMG_5089.jpg

Ahhhhhhhhh......We're going in........

Then we stayed in this spot for what seemed like an eternity, but was probably only 10 seconds

IMG_5109.jpg

It was weird. We stayed there so long that I was beginning to wonder if the ride was broken. But finally we were en route again.

I tried to get some more pics while we were really moving, but all I got was blur.

And then our ride ended all too soon.

Our empty train

IMG_5119.jpg

I did not take a red neck ride photo. I think I was too slow.

Seriously - it was only 8:31am. Bam!

IMG_5126.jpg

Continued in Next Post........

Great pix on the run !!Seriously how can you take pix while you are on a roller coaster:crazy2::scared::rotfl2:The Yeti would not scare me but those drops would :scared::scared:

Continued........

IMG_5127.jpg

I wonder if I grabbed a quick single rider ride because here is a T shirt picture I took after the previous pic.
IMG_5128.jpg

Its possible considering it was only 8:31 am. Clearly if I went single rider, I went alone since Denny won't do single rider. So wrong!

We stopped here but the monkeys were no were to be seen.

I love this altar

I pretty much hate this picture of me, but I'll post it anyway since I have so few. A PP guy took this for me. I was on my way to Safari. I'm not sure where Denny was. Did I temporary lose him??????

IMG_5154.jpg

IMG_5155.jpg

Speaking of good eats - Cynthia and I stopped here in October and the make a nice egg and cheese pannini. It was pretty yummy!

I must have liked the yellow in this tree
