A view from earlier in the evening that I put on Facebook

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

So are you ready for some food porn? Sure you are!

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

The chef offered us a taste of this cold soup. Let me just preface this food review by saying I took no notes and since its been 6 months since I had this meal, I can't remember specifics. Forgive me.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

We decided to do the wine pairing

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Let's just call that one "white wine" because I don't remember what type of wine it was, but it was paired with this......

Mine: Tuna on a bed of something.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

The tuna was yummy and a nice portion. The "something" was, well something. I don't think it added much to the app.

Here is Denny's app. Let's just call it yellow soup.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Better yet, how about calling it yellow, million calorie soup with frothy white stuff on top.

OK, moving on......

Our second wine. Let's call it red wine, shall we?

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

My entree. Scallops on risotto and sausage on top. Scallops were great. Yum

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Denny's entree. Filet. I have NO idea what is on top of the filet.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Our next wine - let's call that one full glass of sparkling white wine.

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

My dessert. Looks like creme brulee with whipped cream and a yummy fruit sauce

Close up

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Denny's dessert - chocolate cake

Untitled by dvcmek1, on Flickr

Seriously, at this point the wine had gone completely to my head so the meal, as you can see, was a blur. Thank goodness I took pictures. If I hadn't my review would have said - drank, ate, left.

The price fixe menu with the wine pairing and Tables in Wonderland totaled at $198. We had an awesome waiter and I know Denny was generous and gave him a nice extra tip.

We had a perfect vantage point for watching the boats come in for the Illuminations Cruise

IMG_4906.jpg

IMG_4907.jpg

IMG_4909.jpg

And then it was time for the show to begin. Our lovely waiter moved my chair so I had a dead on view of Illuminations.

Remember that my pictures are through a glass window, and they turned the lights down in the restaurant, so you can see the reflection of some of the restaurant lamps in the window

I didn't take a ton of pictures, but I definitely enjoyed watching Illuminations from this perspective. It was fun being up high and looking out and down. Too bad the view was a little obstructed because of the trees.

After Illuminations we finished our wine and settled our bill. We dragged our feet a bit, until we could not delay the inevitable any longer, and we headed home.

I had to take some fountain pics on the way out

Up Next....Our Last Full Day in the World. How would be spend it?

Great pix !!I love the warriors I pointed out to the guys that each face was different !! They were impressed with my knowledge;)

As they should be because that is a cool little factoid. :thumbsup2

Never eaten at the Bistro , so anxious to hear all about it !!!:goodvibes

The food was very good and the overall experience was very top notch. I really enjoyed it and after being in the world for a week with mostly counter service, this was a very nice treat!

Bill - Mary Ellen was on the move to get to dinner, that's why the belly dancer was blurry!

Great pictures! I like the artsy unique shots - even all the ones of the ceilings.

Your dinner at Bistro sounds lovely - how fun! I hope someday DH and I can enjoy a dinner date there. I'm anxious to see how they change it though.

Nice quiet pool pictures. Don't think I have even been back there to that pool.

What a fantastic view from Le Bistro.

I lovd the tour around the world and I see you found Glenn's smiling warrior. :)

Sounds like a perfect evening.

Looks like a great meal, even if you don't exactly remember it!

I've always wanted to go to a place where you could see IllumiNations from the table. How cool! Love the pictures, reflections and all! :goodvibes

Hold the phone...all these crisp, clear, fantastic pics and this particular one is blurry?!?!? :sad2: I suspect a conspiracy here!!! She wiggles pretty fast but not THAT FAST!!! :scared1:

No conspiracy. I think Sheree was right - I was hurrying to get some food. :rotfl: Actually, I think I always feel a little weird taking pictures of the belly dancer, so I rush.

Bill - Mary Ellen was on the move to get to dinner, that's why the belly dancer was blurry!

Yup - what she said. :rotfl:

Great pictures! I like the artsy unique shots - even all the ones of the ceilings.

Thank you. It was a good night for pictures because we got to see so many fun things that evening.

I hope you can, too. It was very intimate. Very much a date night dinner. I am curious to see what they change, too. Although I absolutely loved my seat. It was perfect.

Nice quiet pool pictures. Don't think I have even been back there to that pool.

That pool is very nice and I like all the landscaping. But my favorite pool is actually the quiet pool at the inn side of the resort. I LOVE that pool. I have some pictures coming up soon.

What a fantastic view from Le Bistro.

It really was. We really lucked out with that amazing window seat. It was such a great way to watch Illuminations.

I lovd the tour around the world and I see you found Glenn's smiling warrior. :)

Sounds like a perfect evening.

It really was. I'm very glad we decided to try the Bistro because it was really our first chance to be completely alone for dinner.

Looks like a great meal, even if you don't exactly remember it!

:lmao: I looked on Allearsnet.com, but they took the menu down while the restaurant is being reburbed. DRAT. I actually have a picture of the menu somewhere, but its so hard to read. Perhaps I should get a magnifying glass and look at it a little closer.

I've always wanted to go to a place where you could see IllumiNations from the table. How cool! Love the pictures, reflections and all! :goodvibes

I really enjoyed seeing Illuminations from that vantage point. I've seen it from R&C and La Hacienda. This view was totally different and very enjoyable.

Your meal at Bistro looks awesome!!! Hahahahaha million calorie buttery soup is a very accurate description, based on the soup I had had there!!! :rotfl: And your view of Illuminations!! :thumbsup2 I'm interested to see what happens to this restaurant after its refurb.

What an amazing meal that looks to have been. Gorgeous view...and the pairings!! :rotfl2: Red...white...sparkling. Works for me since that is all I know to call them anyway. Viewing Illuminations from there must have been amazing!

:lmao: I looked on Allearsnet.com, but they took the menu down while the restaurant is being reburbed. DRAT.

I actually tried to do this too, after I read your update to see if I could figure out what you had! LOL

Looks like you had a great meal, though.

What a perfect afternoon and evening!

Hooray for some chillin' time at the pool even if the pool wasn't chilly.

I'm glad you made it to Soarin' and the rest of your World Showcase time sounded really nice.

The warriors in China are really impressive! I remember liking (not loving) the movie in China, but it has probably been 15 or 20 years since I have seen it. Not as good as the French or Canadian presentations.

I love the way you photograph the lanterns and light fixtures. I can see why you take a lot of pictures of those.

My favorite pictures in these updates were the one of the roof in Norway (great detail), the slushie stand from Bistro and the Pearl Girls. Beautiful!

Your "vivid" description your meal and wine was a riot! The food was beautiful, if not entirely memorable. I was going to look up the menu, too, so I'm glad others had posted that I shouldn't bother since the menu items have changed.

That is really a cool view of Illuminations from the restaurant. The window reflections really did make for some interesting pictures.

Hmmm. What to do on your last day? MK maybe. You haven't been there for a little while.

Wow, big update!

You always do such a wonderful job telling your story through pictures. They are all lovely but I am partial to the one with the American flag waving in the wind. I am always moved by the site of our flag :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing!

I looked on touring plans and this is what they had:

Marinated Tuna
with limes and herbs, Mediterranean salad, peppers coulis
Included

And the soup was butternut squash?

Not sure if that was correct but their menu was from 12/2011.

It did look yummy....

I agree the photo of the slushie stand was very lovely...:goodvibes

Nice photos of the details on the China ceiling...

I have no recollection of the Martin Short film in Canada... Is it worth doing?:confused3

Your meal looks really great... even the "yellow soup" :rotfl:

(Hey Mary Ellen... whatcha think about this new Noreaster coming tonight...:rolleyes1 Up for a little November snow...:sad2:)

Here is Denny's app. Let's just call it yellow soup.

:rotfl2: Love the description! I'm sure that would make it a top seller if they had it listed on the menu that way. Your dinner menu descriptions cracked me up...I have a feeling my Oct descriptions might end up the same as after day 1 I didn't take a single note!

I liked the villa pool but out of the 3, it was my least favorite and I'm not sure why. I think part if it had to do with the lounger layout. Works well around the pool but didn't face the sun right. LOL! I adore the hotel side pool near the cottages and was surprised by just how much I liked the Luna Park pool...I was prepared to really dislike it. You are right though, that cottage pool might be the prettiest quiet pool out there.

Go figure.

I'm exicted to see what they do with the refurb, it really looks like a perfect date night place and I bet was such a wonderful change after all that counter service! How lovely to be able to walk to dinner and back...ah, perfection.

Some really great pictures!

I just realized....I don't think we ate at a single counter service place in Oct...other than the F&W kiosks. Oh wait, dinner during the party. Was that it? Wild.

I want to do replies, but I don't think this computer is going to cooperate. Ugh!

Just one comment - NO SNOW TONIGHT PLEASE! :faint: On the other hand, I would not be too terribly upset if I didn't have to work the concession stand for the state soccer playoffs tonight. :rolleyes1

Now it was time to do something that we do best......No not THAT.....get your minds out of the gutter. :rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I thought you'd just hang out and have coffee on the verandah.

We arrived to redeem our FPs with one minute to spare. Nothing like cutting it a little close.

Man, you guys live on the edge.

On our way into the World Showcase, after Soarin, we noticed that Duffy was out entertaining the children

Is "entertaining" the right word? I still don't understand the point of Duffy.:confused3

Sorry for all the ceiling shots. It's just so beautiful to admire.

No apology necessary. It's such a beautiful building. You got some great shots.

Me: Come On Denny. Put your eyeballs back in their sockets.

Denny: I ain't going to no d@^^n Gatlinburg......uhm...wait....What did you say?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Let's just call that one "white wine" because I don't remember what type of wine it was, but it was paired with this......

I have to laugh, because this sounds about as specific as I would ever get. You know how men only know 7 colors? The same goes for food and wine.

Nice pictures! Looks like a very pleasant evening.
