Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

I really shouldn't but I am :lmao: at your meltdown.

You will understand why in my next update.

Uh Oh - Spoiler Alert! :rotfl: I don't mind you laughing at my meltdown. It was actually pretty amusing.

What a total bummer about the check in. Out of curiousity, did your request show when you checked the reservation online? I know mine showed up in one spot (main WDW "my vacation or whatever it's called I think) but not on the member services site. I've been emailing my requests in, for some reason I feel a ton safer that way (written record) versus calling. If you email you get a response back that they have it. When I've called they "dumb it down" to something that fits with the online check in options...which is not generally what I'm looking for.

Honestly, I did not even check my reservation there. I didn't even KNOW about that. I will make sure to check our current reservations today. Ugh - I feel like I have so much to do today. But I did get a new cute pair of shorts and a shirt yesterday. :thumbsup2

I hope our experience is different this time. I have heard that the corridors there are confusing. I am super excited to stay there, for the location if nothing else but am more excited about VWL from a villa perspective, very curious to see how it is compared to the resort rooms.

Well, you know I think the furnishings there are a little tired and very old fashioned. But I love the lobby and all the cool details. And I think the quiet pool is pretty nice. I am just looking forward to being at the resort in general and I LOVE running there!

Heck. I'm just excited!!!!!!!! :hyper: And praying we don't get too much rain.

TWO WEEK DANCE TIME

:woohoo:

I didn't even think about rain. Yikes! I have never had a real rainy WDW vacation. I better check my dollar store poncho stock.

So it was one of those tilt kind of cap covers...not a push release but push till it tilts out? I can see where that would be an issue.

I didn't even know there were still gas caps like that. Really? That's another reason why I didn't push on it that hard. I thought those covers were supposed to be accessible by only the driver. This mechanism lets anyone have access to your gas tank. Weird.

That was seriously a to go glass picture?

I cannot wait to go to the Ditch. I'm thinking....2pm...2 weeks from tomorrow, right after our Mexican Culinary Seminar.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's a good plan. I like that. :thumbsup2

maybe we can con some folks into meeting us there...salt on body parts notwithstanding.

:lmao:

The Ditch makes everything better.

Great idea! I totally agree that the Ditch makes everything better and I love that jalapeno rita. I was craving one last night. I know I need to branch out and try other flavors, but why mess with success?

Don't force it? Sounds like the engineer coming out.

Maybe - except he's a chemical engineer. :rotfl2: It's just something he does ALL the time. He does it to me and both of the kids. We wait for it. He's trained us well.

I am absolutely positive that I would have never ever EVER figured out the gas cap of that car....especially since I have never pumped my own gas. I figure if the day comes that I ever have to, well, hopefully I won't be in a car with a confusing gas cap on top of whatever adventure THAT turns out to be! :rotfl:

You must live in Jersey. :rotfl2: Wait - but I thought you guys lived in NYC. Maybe you live in Jersey and commute to NYC? Well, whatever! :rotfl: Not to get off topic, but I used to hate getting gas in Jersey because they pump i for you. Now I LOVE getting gas in Jersey because they pump it for you. :rotfl:

Ugh, that stinks about the less-than-magical CM. I don't think your request is THAT uncommon. And especially with your trip so far, I don't blame you for going straight to La Cava!! :thumbsup2 Your jalapeno margarita looks great! I'm aiming for a cucumber one myself next time!

La Cava was on my list for the "adults only" portion of the trip, but the events of the evening made me more determined to get there even faster. I really don't know how many standard studios there are, but I suspect the high floor studios were occupied hours ago. Oh well. As you will see, we started to actually like our little villa!

Don't blame you for the melt down at all!!! The gas cap, the CM and the stuck in the door would have me in ameltdown too !!
I have so little time before Disney !!In 7 days I will be at the Buffalo Airport ready to GO!!

I agree with 2xcited2sleep- that is a GREAT picture. I love the colors, and although you can't make out the words, you know exactly what it is!

I'm glad you like it. I edited the crap out of it, so it definitely looks better than the original. :thumbsup2

Hilarious story! But I would have used just one finger to open it. Just sayin'

:rolleyes1

Would that have been the "middle" finger? :rotfl2: I cracked up when I read this, because that was exactly the way I felt, for sure.

Over on the BC/YC thread, we almost always advise regular check-in for the resort, because that way if you are not satisfied with your room assignment and want to make a change you are not holding anyone up. With online checkin you are supposed to grab your keys and go. With regular checkin, you can ask (as you did) if there was another room that meets your request.

I think it really has to do with how late we checked in on a Saturday night. And, honestly, although I really don't care for the bottom floor, our room wasn't bad. The location was actually excellent. It was near everything. So it definitely grew on us.

But this strategy did not work in this case. I guess that advice is not as helpful with the villas at BCV or BWV- since they are often at full or close to full capacity.

Exactly.

I like your backlit, sun glare picture. Lots and lots of people have great, well lit pictures of the arch, this one is really artistic and interesting. It's like a little secret that you share with other Disney lovers -- we all know what it is even without the perfect lighting and the words. Very nice, I'd go ahead and change your story to "I didn't want to take a well lit picture of the arch, too mainstream. So I took this artistically lit shot instead." :thumbsup2

Thank you for complimenting my "artsy" picture so nicely. It is fun to have "different" pictures of the same arch. It would have been nice to get one really clear on, but OK, I'll take it.

IOk seriously, let's tally this trip up, shall we?
MEK puts up with...
-5 days of BIL and family (incl. breakdowns)
-frustrating gas cap
-getting a bottom floor
-getting a seriously cranky CM (wow, no need for the attitude there, lady!)
-taking two suitcases by herself
-getting lost
-getting stuck
-taking stinky pictures (which don't stink, imo)
-Denny takes little more than a make up bag into the room after her fiasco with the two suitcases

Out of all that stuff, it really was Denny's lack of luggage that irritated me the most. I was like, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT? Oh - I know - I asked him where his situational awareness was? He did NOT like that? :rolleyes1

IAdd it all up and I think you were well within your rights to have a little explosion. I'm very happy that you made it up so quickly and got yourself a jalapeno margarita, I bet that made you feel better!

I felt better with the first sip. Something is probably fundamentally wrong with that. :rotfl: Such a great rita!

ICan't wait for IllumiNations!!

Coming up Next!

We had a rental Mitsubishi and the same thing happened to us--- LOL!

We that's three of us now - you, me, and the guy who posted the question on the internet. Stupid Mitsubishis. :rotfl2:

At least you were able to get liquid happiness ! My favorite is the Avocado margarita. Is the Jalapeño spicy?

I have had the avocado and its like a meal in a glass. I really enjoyed it, but I think it was a little too "thick" for me. Very tasty, though.

The Jalapeno has a little "bite" right near the end, but nothing major. Trust me, I do NOT like spicy food, so for me to like it, it has to be mild. It's just such an interesting taste. The avocado is more sweet with a real full taste. This is not sweet, but the flavors blend together really well.

:lmao: I'm not laughing at you, really I'm not, it's just the visual of you walking around the car trying unsuccessfully to open the gas cap is quite amusing!

As it should be. I felt like the three stooges, except there were only two of us. :rotfl2:

Sorry about the crappy CM, she obviously forgot to dust herself with pixie dust that morning. It was a simple request and she had no reason to be hateful about it :sad2:

I wouldn't say she was hateful, but she made me feel pretty uncomfortable because she was "snooty". It's weird, but in the real world you get that from time to time from costumer service people. That's what I like about Disney. It's very unusual to walk away from a CM and feel inferior, for lack of a better word.

Yay for heading for the cure all location of the Ditch :cheer2: I haven't tried a margarita there yet that wasn't awesome!

I really have to branch out and try a new flavor. I promised Danielle I would try the cucumber, so that's next on my list. :thumbsup2

As I was reading the story of both you and Denny trying to get the gas cap open, my mind went straight to the scene in Vacation where Chevy Chase is walking around the car looking for the place to pump the gas. :lmao: At least you figured out how to open it without standing around too terribly long.

I loved those Vacation movies and, you are so right - that's how we felt.... like total idiots. :lmao: I think that's why Denny went in the store and left me to figure it out.

Well, at least you survived the vacation with the family before you had your mini-meltdown. I would have hated for your brother to have seen that. Can you just imagine?:sad2:

I know. The funny thing is, I was sure if I was going to "melt" it would have been when the whole gang was around. I thought I was "home free" at this point in the vacation. Apparently NOT!

On the contrary, I like it a lot! You get a Disney silhouette thing going on there. It's a different POV of a sight we've seen many times.

Thanks. I'm glad that so many people like. It's helping to change my perspective from "crappy" to "artsy". :rotfl:

Remember the good old days, when they put a little finger-sized indentation on the cover and you simply opened it manually? Have we really improved on that?

I totally remember that and that's exactly why I thought all gas cap covers were locked. That explains why it totally threw me for a loop. I mean, I get thinking - there HAS to be a lock.

Crowbars. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::lmao: :rotfl: Good one!

Or, rent American. :rotfl:

Clearly its safer.

Hmm. This seems to be arguing against Glenn's "don't check in online" theory. Now I'm confused. :confused3

I never check-in online. I just think it was the combo of Saturday night, 8pm, and the number of standard rooms available.

Bring back BIL! :rotfl2:

On NO. NOT THAT! :faint:

I was about to say it sounded like everyone needed a drink.

Ya think?

If you're going to be an alcoholic, it might as well be there.

I can't think of a better place! :rotfl:

Oh Mary Ellen, I'm so sorry ... I think you were probably entitled to a little melt down... :crazy2:

Things like the car cap... that's like a standard in my word ... I have no natural instinct towards figuring out that kind of stuff... with or without the manual...
Heck, I'm known for driving to the gas pump on the wrong side of the car... and this is my own car or Eric's or Em's ...:confused3

That CM does not sound like she had the proper Disney attitude... I think she needs to go back for some training... (Eric and I have a joke about the "naughty" cms having to go down to the Disney dungeon for Disney punishment...:smokin:

I can't wait to go to the Ditch in 2 months... :cool1:

Stopping by to say that I am going to finish replies tomorrow. Busy day!

:rotfl:

You are correct - I am very much a Jersey girl!!! :thumbsup2

You know, the thought of how to get a rental car's gas cap off never crossed my mind until I read your update. I feel like that's one of those things even the most prepared person would get stuck up on. Everyone knows to ask the basic questions, like "How do I open the trunk?" and "Where's the switch to turn on the headlights?" Nobody ever thinks "How do I have to go about filling up the gas tank?" :sad2:

Seriously, I know. It should be pretty obvious, but trust me, it wasn't. :rotfl2: I really felt pretty dumb and I almost wanted to just leave, but I knew we had to face it sooner or later. :scared:

I'm sorry that you had to go through such a hassle and then had to deal with that unpleasant CM. I can't believe she didn't even try to accomodate you. Someone wasn't living up to the Disney standard...

She did check with her manager, but there was nothing. And I'm OK with that because standard view villas are limited. I was lucky to be able to book one. They are less points and a lot of people love them. I actually liked looking out at the front of the resort and the location was great, once I figured out where the room was. :rotfl:

But it's completely understandable why all of that added on to the past days with your brother and co. led to a not so great moment. You'd been playing mediator all week and enough was enough! And alls well that ends well, especially if that road leads you to a Mexico margarita.:thumbsup2

The nice thing about this melt down is that I knew exactly what was happening and I got control over it. I remember thinking, "this is so stupid to get upset right now. We are here. Let's move forward". It worked! ;)

He's right, you know! :rotfl2:

Hey I like your sun glare-y arch picture too. It's got that MEK artistic vibe to it.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm impressed that you thought to search the Internet to help solve your gas cap predicament. It's amazing, the wealth of knowledge now at our fingertips...even how to open a gas cap! And it proves that you weren't the only one who had trouble.

My phone really did help solve the predicament. The funny thing was - I can't STAND people who leave their car at a pump any longer than they have too and now WE were doing the same thing. Fortunately, we got the answer relatively quickly.

I tell ya, I get more confused about online check-in vs not, by the second. I think they're not consistent from resort to resort in how they're using it to assign rooms.

I think I was just a victim of bad timing (day and time of day) and a limited supply of standard view villas. The location ended up being a great one and really convenient to everything. It probably would be a perfect room for someone who likes the ground floor.

I think I am still going with in person check-in this month.

Sorry you got a less than stellar CM at check in. I still don't understand how on-line check in would have granted your request, but regular check in didn't. :confused3.

I guess you note requests when you do on-line check-in. I'm not really sure because I have never done on-line. I always just show up and usually end up with close to what I want. Oh well, we'll see what happens in just a few weeks.

Don't feel bad about the meltdown, we all have those moments at Disney! Margaritas do make everything better, and fireworks don't hurt either! I love watching Illuminations from Norway with a margarita in hand, so I don't think you could have made a better choice for the evening.

So you're a Norway fan, too? :thumbsup2 Isn't it a great "go-to" spot and it IS really close to the Ditch. I mean, Iluminations is so much better with a FULL rita that lasts through the whole thing. :rotfl:

Honestly, I did not even check my reservation there. I didn't even KNOW about that. I will make sure to check our current reservations today. Ugh - I feel like I have so much to do today. But I did get a new cute pair of shorts and a shirt yesterday. :thumbsup2

major thumbs up for that! I got a cute new sundress :thumbsup2

Well, you know I think the furnishings there are a little tired and very old fashioned. But I love the lobby and all the cool details. And I think the quiet pool is pretty nice. I am just looking forward to being at the resort in general and I LOVE running there!

I am planning to get a couple of workouts in as well, no clue where it is at BWV but I have been to the gym at VLW before so that's easy.

I didn't even think about rain. Yikes! I have never had a real rainy WDW vacation. I better check my dollar store poncho stock.

I'm going to toss in a small umbrella, sure I won't use/need or ever even remember to bring it but just in case it's a good thing to have. And ponchos. I actually have 2 of the nice heavy disney ones. Jeff and Kendall were given them on their backstage safari and I saved them. They are so heavy duty they can be reused. :thumbsup2 So need to remember to toss one of those in.

I didn't even know there were still gas caps like that. Really? That's another reason why I didn't push on it that hard. I thought those covers were supposed to be accessible by only the driver. This mechanism lets anyone have access to your gas tank. Weird.

I agree, they always bugged me, I haven't seen one like that in years though and would have had the same issue I think.

That's a good plan. I like that. :thumbsup2

Great idea! I totally agree that the Ditch makes everything better and I love that jalapeno rita. I was craving one last night. I know I need to branch out and try other flavors, but why mess with success?

Why indeed?

Maybe - except he's a chemical engineer. :rotfl2: It's just something he does ALL the time. He does it to me and both of the kids. We wait for it. He's trained us well.

:rotfl2:

Finally caught myself up on your TR!! :thumbsup2

Yeah! :cool1:

Wow! What a whirlwind! You saw your boy off, went to the BC, walked in through Christine's private entrance and had yourself a good time in an almost empty WS. I don't think I've ever been there when it's just opened, note to self to try that next time I get a chance. :goodvibes

I loved going into the World showcase when it was still empty. I usually never get there that early, so it was great for taking pictures and soaking it all in. Loved it!

Then you toured AofA, which makes me even more excited to be staying there!! :yay:
It has such great appeal, I was looking at the map you posted thinking of the fastest way to get from the area we'll be staying in (Little Mermaid) to the bus stops. Then it dawned on me, I'll be there for only two nights and two days, what do I want to race through the resort for?!? I want to take it all in and walking the longest way will be the best visual option any way!! :)

You are going to LOVE it there. It is so cool. I think the Mermaid rooms look amazing. You're right - why would you ever want to rush through that resort. I could have used another hour (at least) to look around.

Then you were off to Daytona and had a great time with friends! I think those are sometimes the best visits, the quick kind where everyone has a great time with good food , good company and drink. :cloud9:

We had such a nice visit. I'm so glad we had a chance to wind down and see K&T. Can't wait to stop by and see them again next year.

Can't wait to see what y'all get yourselves into next. :upsidedow

I have to say that our next two days in the world were very, very relaxed and we really did the "adult" thing. It was fun!

Uh-oh, I'm getting a whiff of a melt down.....better go see what happened. :scared:

Haha! Yeah, I had a temporary setback (shall we say) after our arrival to BWV. :rolleyes1

Uh oh... We are staying at BWV in ONE WEEK and we aren't doing online check-in. Are we doomed?

I definitely do not that you are doomed. I just think I had the Saturday night trifecta - Saturday, evening check-in, and standard view. Although, I do hope you get a cheerier CM! ::yes::

We added a night so we have a 3 night reservation and a 1 night reservation. They are linked but we are thinking that NOT doing online check in is better because of the two reservations. I hope we aren't making a mistake. I guess we'll find out... in just ONE WEEK!

In that case I definitely think you should do in person so everything gets linked up. It will be fine. You girls are going to have a GREAT time! :cool1:

So funny about the gas cap!

It's funny now, but trust me, is was so NOT funny then. :lmao:

I would have been a little annoyed with my DH if he hadn't brought the rest of the stuff in with him too. ;)

That was the thing that irritated me the most. I just thought he was being so incosiderate. He said it was because he thought we were going out in the car later that evening. But still? Really?

I'm really sorry, but this update got me laughing. Any chance to say that to Denny in the future? 'Dont force it' would annoy me to no end. And shame on him for not bringing in any other bags. You checked in, had to deal with a not so pleasant CM, and brought in two bags. And then he gets miffed at you. :sad2: I'm glad you made up quickly, but he's the one who should have apologized IMHO.

Denny, like everyone else, has his idiosyncrasies and he is convinced that whenever something in the house breaks, it's because we forced it. :rotfl: I guess he has me trained so well that I even hear his imaginery voice chanting his manntra.

The "bag less" appearance REALLY irritated me that night. I have no idea what was going through his head. :faint:

So glad the evening ended pleasantly :)

The evening ended perfectly after Illuminations and some liquid happiness. :thumbsup2

Ugh, the gas cap, what a nightmare! I'm glad you thought to google it, it probably would have taken me much longer to think of that! :rotfl2: I'll keep that in mind if we ever rent a Mitsubishi (or any car where we can't figure out the gas cap!)!

Well, that is another one of Denny's manntras. Whenever someone asks a question he always says "Google it". :lmao: So that's what I did. I did like the Mitsubishi, but OY to that gas cap. :rotfl:

I LOVE your pictures under the arch! :woohoo: You always take the best pictures, you should be an official Disney photographer someday! :thumbsup2!

Thanks, but you are way too kind. And talk about good pictures - I have been loving all of your pictures lately -especially your recent night time shots. :thumbsup2

Ugh that CM sounds very un-magical. I hate the first floor too, I don't want people walking above me. I have to put in a room request for POR and I don't know if I want to request Oak Manor or a 2nd floor room..I don't want to do both because I'm hoping our room is ready when we check in and I don't want to be waiting around for requests, but...ugh I don't know! I still have a few weeks to decide!!

Oak Manor is such a pretty area. That's a tough decision. I mean, the bottom floor can be convenient, but I would rather be at the extreme top. I just like it better. Plus I think bottom floor rooms feel more damp in the Florida humidity.

Yay for Epcot and a margarita from the Ditch! I cannot wait to go there and finally get to drink one since I missed out in May!

I hope you love the Ditch as much as I do. Those margaritas truly are the best. They are strong though. I think they are like getting two drinks in one, which works for me! :rolleyes1

You were lucky to have a service manual. The rental car we had last Feb. had something we couldn't figure out, looked all over for the manual. It was in the trunck under the spare tire!:rolleyes2

OK, why in the world would anyone put a service manual in the trunk with the spare tire? That makes no sense. I can't say I would have ever thought to look there. :rotfl:

The Ditch is such a nice looking place, didn't try a 'rita though, my bad!

If you like ritas, even just a tad, this place has the best ritas on the planet. Hands down, the best. Put it on your list for next year!!!!!

My computer is a mess right now. I am getting so many pop-up security alert messages that I want to scream. :badpc: I am going to keep trying to reply one message at a time, but may have to give up.

That's something that I don't like about rental cars... because it's not anything like the car you normally drive, you don't know the quirks of the car. Good thing you had a smart phone. What did people do before those?! :confused3 Can you imagine going anywhere nowadays without even a cell phone? What would you do if you got lost? Or needed an address or a phone number or.... whatever. I have NO idea how they did that like 20 years ago.

Don't blame you for the melt down at all!!! The gas cap, the CM and the stuck in the door would have me in ameltdown too !!
I have so little time before Disney !!In 7 days I will be at the Buffalo Airport ready to GO!!

Rosie - I tried to respond to this post about 5 times today at work and the internet explore closed down each time, so I finally gave up.

I guess I did have a few reasons for a meltdown. I just didn't like how it came upon me all of a sudden. Yike!
:
cheer2: Woo Hoo - It's probably 5 days to Disney World for you now. That's pretty cool. We have 11 days. Are we going to miss you?

Oh Mary Ellen, I'm so sorry ... I think you were probably entitled to a little melt down... :crazy2:

Ya think? :rotfl2: Looking back on it, it all seems pretty silly now. :upsidedow

Things like the car cap... that's like a standard in my word ... I have no natural instinct towards figuring out that kind of stuff... with or without the manual...
Heck, I'm known for driving to the gas pump on the wrong side of the car... and this is my own car or Eric's or Em's ...:confused3

:rotfl2: OK - that's funny! :rotfl2: I usually Do remember what side my gas cap is on. But that gas cap - it totally stumped me.

That CM does not sound like she had the proper Disney attitude... I think she needs to go back for some training... (Eric and I have a joke about the "naughty" cms having to go down to the Disney dungeon for Disney punishment...:smokin:

Disney dungeon? :rotfl: I like that.

She actually wasn't rude, rather is was he aloofness and the fact that she seemed like someone who could be behind the desk in every other hotel except a Disney hotel. I just always expect super pleasant people at Disney and that was NOT happening.

I can't wait to go to the Ditch in 2 months... :cool1:

:thumbsup2 The Ditch is so awesome. It really is like a little hole in the wall bar with the best darn margaritas anywhere. You will love it!

You are correct - I am very much a Jersey girl!!! :thumbsup2

I KNEW it! A Jersey girl is in the house! :cheer2: I'm a former Philly girl, so its all good!

Dropping by to stay caught up!!!!!!

You're good Rosie, but I will be updating tomorrow! :thumbsup2

major thumbs up for that! I got a cute new sundress :thumbsup2

Nice! I have a dress that I bought for our beach vacation and then never wore it. I bought it for adults night out, but then I looked overdressed compared to my GF, so I have that for Citricos.

I am planning to get a couple of workouts in as well, no clue where it is at BWV but I have been to the gym at VLW before so that's easy.

That's a good question. I have no clue with the fitness center is at the BWV, but I know they have to have one. I had the hardest time just figuring out where to fill my mug.

They sound like great ponchos. I actually don't have as many as I thought, although I have a couple from the open house we went to at UD. I guess they were just in case it rained.

I agree, they always bugged me, I haven't seen one like that in years though and would have had the same issue I think.

It was just weird. Why would they still make gas caps like that? Makes no sense.

Why indeed?

That's why that jalapeno rita is my "go-to" drink, but I really am going to try to branch out. Maybe.

Engineers. pfft.

You know - I never drive when we rent a car so I don't have to go through the hassle of learning a new car, but it is definitely a pain.

I often think about the days before cell phones and smart phones.:scratchin I used to be really into biking and would think nothing of going out on a 50 mile bike ride, by myself, without a phone. Now that seems absolutely insane.

My phone really did help save the day with the gas cap situation.

LOL about the gas cap !! You did exactly what I always do if I have a question about anything. I Google. And it works every time !! Google is awesome.

LOL about the gas cap !! You did exactly what I always do if I have a question about anything. I Google. And it works every time !! Google is awesome.

Google is awesome! I use it all the time to troubleshoot my mac. Seriously, there is so much I don't know about this computer I am always googling this and that.

That gas cap really did stump me!

I'm one who goes to Google for answers too. My DH always checks youtube for instructional videos!

I use youtube too. :rotfl2: Some of those videos are actually pretty good. I admire people who take the time to record and upload those instructional videos. I don't have that much free time, or inclination, or both!

So I just have to say that I went for a 25 mile bike ride this morning. I'm pretty proud of myself, since I rarely (Ok never) ride my bike anymore. I have a very nice (and expensive) Cannondale that I bought when my kids were little when I was really into road biking. Most recently, the bike has just collected dust in my garage. When Denny gets in one of his moods, he threatens to sell it. Yeah - that'll never happen.

When we were at the beach this summer I had it "tuned up" and bought new shoes for my clip-in pedals. I rode twice down there, but the traffic scared the crap out of me. But this morning we went out on the back roads around our house and had a very nice ride. The temperature was perfect and the trees are just starting to turn. A nice way to start the day.

Now I present........

Illuminate Me

So in my last update Denny and I had just arrived back to the bubble to spend our last three nights in Disney world. With a drink in hand we lined up at our "go-to" spot in Norway and let Illuminations entertain us.

It was hard for me to believe that it was Saturday night because there were only a few other people standing over in Norway with us. Told you it's the last minute "go to" spot!

I always wish that I could see the pictures in the globe a little better

I am certain I took a few more pictures than I really needed to. Always in search of that perfect shot, but they all pretty much look the same.

The other thing I like about Norway is I like using that lamp as a focal point for the picture. I think it makes the pictures more interesting.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't really "love" any of my pictures. This one does come close.

If I could take a photography lesson, it would be with someone who could show me how to really "shoot" fireworks. I would love to learn how to get really dramatic results, but for now, it's the same 'ol same 'ol.

Good bye Epcot lamp. You served me well

IMG_4625.jpg

So I nixed about 70 other pictures that you probably have already seen in various shapes and sizes. You can thank me later.

With another Illuminations behind us, was our night over yet? Ummmmm....NO!

What I love about staying at the Epcot resorts is that you can leisurely walk out of the world showcase and go against the tides. We went left from Norway and took the long way home. Back near Germany and the USA there were only a few stragglers hanging around.

We walked at a comfortable pace. Not too slow. Not too fast. We had another destination in mind.

Oh yeah - and one more thing. We hadn't eaten dinner. The last time we really ate was late lunch in Daytona and now it was almost 9:30pm. As late as it was, I wasn't skipping dinner.

I had a plan. And we had a car. A car that still had luggage in it, so we needed to go visit it anyway.

I suggested to Denny that we go over to POR and see Yee Haw Bob. We could just grab something to eat in the food court over there.

So we took the looooooooooooooooooooong walk to the BW parking lot.

Can I insert a little rant here?

Why the HECK is the regular parking lot at the BW SO FAR AWAY???????

I get that its a conference center. I get that there are spots for valet parking. But from what I could see for three days, the majority of those spots were empty in both sections and the parking for guests was relegated to the last two or three rows in the furthest section of the lot. It's just plain STUPID, if you ask me. It's like punishment for having a car. How can the Beach Club have such a perfect parking lot and the Boardwalk's parking lot be torture?

End of rant.

After much griping from me (my feet hurt, this walk is tooooooo long), we finally made it to the car. :cheer2:

We plugged POR into the GPS and made it there in about 5 minutes.

We headed directly to the QS area.

This is quite possibly the worst picture you have ever seen of the POR QS area. I forget what it's called.

There weren't many people eating dinner at 10pm and several of the stations had already closed. But they had an "make your own" pasta station. I told Denny to just pick whatever he wanted and we would share it. I went off to fill up the mugs.

The results......

A box full of pasta. I don't know if the CM gave him extra because it was the end of the night and all that pasta was going to end up in the trash, or because he figured out that both of us were sharing, or both. But as you can see, the results were favorable.

This may have been my plate

Seriously, we were stuffed when we were done. And it was really good. I enjoyed it. Can't tell you what all was in that pasta, but the combo was good. The only thing that would have improved on it is if I could have had some whole wheat pasta mixed in.

After our late night drinking and all that pasta, we were suddenly both very tired. But, darn it, we had come this far and we weren't leaving until we saw some of Bob's show.

Now these are quite possibly the worst pictures of Bob ever, because I did not bring my camera with me.

Denny has never seen Bob before, so he was a little lost. And, I have to admit, I think Bob is much better with a crowd. I always feel like everyone there knows the show so much better than I do. But I still enjoy him and he definitely brings a smile to my face.

Go blurry Bob, GO!

Put your hand in the air (Oh wait, that's not one of Bob's songs)

What to hear bob in action. click here

All I can say is - if you've never seen Bob, you should give his show a try. It's really fun and its free!

After watching a set of Bob, fatigue finally did us in and we said good bye to the....

When we got out to the car it was midnight. Boy how time flies in the bubble.

Up Next..... Can We make Rope Drop at Epcot or is even that too hard for us?
