Will you be rooting for Tiger in the Masters

Well, I don't really watch golf, so I don't care. Tiger is the only person I know.:lmao:

So how is it going? I know they were doing practice rounds right? Does the tournament start today?

Not interested in watching golf of Tiger Woods then or now..so I guess no.

Yes, Tiger is an amazing golfer. What is going on in his personal life is his business. I am disappointed in his behavior but I still respect his skill as a golfer. The thing that really irks me in all this is that it isn't like there aren't 100 other guys on the tour doing the same thing, he just got caught. That doesn't excuse his behavior but I really don't think that it should be all over the news.

Nope. Didn't care about him before he had numerous affairs and I don't care about him now. To me, golf is the most boring sport to watch. *yawn*

Nope. I caught the golf bug from my husband and I really thought I could be a grown up girl and watch him for his ability only but not gonna happen. I know intellectually this is his private business but emotionally I'm a wife and I can imagine the pain his wife must have gone through.

I'm having a hard time just keeping myself from hoping he falls flat on his face.

It's weird because I keep thinking of those poor wife of that WV miners who died a few days from taking his wife on her very first cruise in 30 years of marriage and then we have Tiger who is making a mockery of marriage.
I know it's totally irrational but I'm skipping the majors and their sponsors this year.

I can't respect murders just because they happen to be good at their jobs, I can't respect those priest who violated those little boys simply because they did good to other people and I cannot respect Tiger.

You have to be a decent human being in order to get my respect not just good at your job.

Not really. I don't have any respect for him.

Excellent post. I agree 100%

Nice generalization.

Personally, what he does in his personal life is his business, not mine. That being said, i never really cheered for him before so that won't change now.

No way. I used to cheer for him, not just for his skills but because of who I thought he was as a person. When you have kids, and you cheat on your spouse, you are also cheating on your kids IMHO. And he did not just slip up one time, he had an entire lifestyle centered around cheating.
And I completely disagree that there are 100 other guys on tour that are doing the same thing. :sad2:
I will be cheering for Mickelson this year - he has stood by his wife through her battle with breast cancer, and he brings his kids to the Par 3 tournament.

Phil's kids are a status symbol to him. He has "stood" buy his wife because it makes for good press. Phil is one of the biggest jerks on the tour. It's all perception. Most of the golfers bring their kids to the par 3 tournament and have them caddy. Tiger's kids aren't old enough to do that yet but when they are I am sure they will be there.

I don't root for anyone because I have no idea how anyone can watch golf. It's the most boring sport ever :). It's like watching grass grow.

How do you know that. Being a jerk on the job doesn't automatically make you a jerk to your family.

Here's what I think Tiger's biggest problem was...he got cocky.

He started to think the rules didn't apply to him.

And prior to all the revelations, people were able to say "Well, he's cocky but he has a right to be because he's so good at what he does". He had this "persona" of being "above" the rest of us...magnificent golfer, wonderful Dad and family man who made a career out of "protecting his family's privacy".

Well, now we find out he wasn't actually Husband of the Year which means he also wasn't Father of the Year because a good father wouldn't do that to his family. We found out he's human, and unfortunately for him, HE'S the one who made us all think he was super-human, based in his golf skills and attitude. We found out that "protecting his family's privacy" actually meant keeping everything on the down low so he didn't get snagged with his pants down and using some of his big bucks to pay off the skanks to keep quiet. It's a big fall when you put yourself on the top of the pedstal.

So, I agree with eliza16. Nah...don't much care about Tiger anymore. Don't think he's sorry he did it. Think he's sorry he got caught. Think he's doing whatever he can so his wife doesn't take him for a big load of dough. Think she's going to anyway...and she should.

As far as his private life...well, poor sad billionaire...when you become a public figure, you forego a private life. One of the drawbacks of earning the big bucks. If he was that worried about it, he should have kept his pants zipped.

I don't think hanging with skanky hookers actually would count as an attribute in the "Father of the Year" contest, do you???

Wow. Way to insult all of us who do enjoy the game. Thanks for that. :)

Personally, I never really cheered for him before. I think he is an amazing golfer. However, I hate that all the focus is on him. Even when another player is doing well, it is about Tiger. So and so is 3 shots ahead of Tiger. Tiger isn't out of the running yet. So and So has made 5 birdies in a row and is on fire, but we're gonna stick with covering Tiger who is having an off round. Ugh!!! Seriously. I hate it. However, I undersand that isn't his fault, but rather the press' fault.

All that said.... I love when I can pull for an underdog. Is Boo playing this year? I like him.

Nope. I hope he falls flat on his face and is totally humiliated by how badly he plays. :)

If you have ever tried to play you would realize how GOOD these guys are - that is where the appreciation comes from. Then you have Tiger who takes it to the next level. He is absolutely amazing.
