Will Wishes happen in Dec. at 6 pm?

We will be in WDW Dec.18-23. I know that the 18, the park may close at 6 pm. Does Wishes still occur even if the park closes at 6 pm? Or will they not have a Wishes Fireworks show until the park stays open until 10 pm? And when in December does the afternoon parade turn into Mickey's Very Special Christmas Parade? Thanks in advance, Scott

Why would MK close at 6:00p on Saturday, December 18???

I believe (but not 100% sure) that the parade will switch that weekend. It usually switches the week before Christmas thru Christmas.

Here's a link to Dec 2003 hours and it also shows when Wishes and SM and the Xmas parade was.

I agree the park should start to stay open late that week (the last MVMCP is Dec 17, so a 6pm close on a Saturday would seem inaapropriate with no MVMCP that night).

As for the Christmas parade it is exclusive to the MVMCP, so they will probably start running it int the park as the day parade either the 18th or the 19th (again since the last party is the 17th).

If you are looking at wdwinfo.com, I think the projected hours are not correct. They are showing all the Saturdays in December as closing 6:00pm. Using the link beattyfamily gave to last year's hours is more reliable in my opinion.

Thanks. I was not using the info that beattyfamily gave, but after clicking on that link yeah Dec. 18 is a Sat so MK should stay open until at least 8 if not 10. We have never been to WDW during the holiday season so just trying to get a head start on the planning. Thanks for the info.

Last year I was told over and over that the parade did not start until mid December because I was really bummed out about this. We went to MVMCP December 5th or so last year and the Christmas parade ran twice, with Wishes in between.


Here is the link for MVMCP on the Disney site.....it doesn't say anything about the parade starting MID December.

Not sure where this information started. Perhaps in the past it did or something. It didn't make sense to me that they would go through the whole trouble of doing this huge production for only 2 weeks of the year, but that's the info I got here last year. I was very much happy and surprised that it ran. When i saw it on the little program they pass out, I even asked the CM twice if he was sure the parade was going to run as I had heard differently. It also didn't make sense that the people going in the last part of the month get more entertainment for their money, than the people going the beginning half of the month. Maybe we went on a "fluke" night or something, I hope not, because I'm going December 7th this year. But it did run twice the night we were there, first week in December.

OK, stand to be corrected, I mis-understood last year I guess and now I noticed you said AFTERNOON parade LOL SO now I'm glad because it SHOULD be running for the party!!! I sure was confused!!!

The parade is only shown during MVMCP (runs twice those nights). Always has. Then once MVMCP ends, the Christmas parade will then be shown during the day since there is no MVMCP and it Christmas week by then.

I'm not sure what you are saying?? The Chrismtas parade has always been shown during the party and then once Christmas week comes, no more party and the parade runs everyday that week.
