Will we survive the 10 hour drive?? Sept26-Oct3 PTR

This is my second attempt at a trip report, my first starting with a PTR! So bear with me!! I tend to ramble...just feel free to scan over....

I never thought I would EVER turn into one of "THOSE" types with Disney.. You know the ones... the ones that go EVERY YEAR..... .. I even told Knick "we are not going every year, I want to go to other places"...that was before my first trip.... Fast forward to the end of that trip:.. started planning on disney with friends for the next year! ... So I'm hooked... We've gone every year since (2005,2006,2007, we will be going in Sept this year).. Everyone knows we will be at Disney every year..It's just a given.. lol

BUT... guess what???? Disney is now FFFRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for Knick and myself thanks to my LOVELY stepfather in law getting a job there.. (yeah, that's right, me).. haha


This year, we decided to drive down.. It's a lot cheaper than flying.. crazy as that is... We don't get to experience Magical Express or actually staying on the property anymore, but for free Disney, I'll trade that! My MIL and FIL recently bought a house close to Disney so we'll just pretend we're on property!

Ok.. Now on to introduce the cast of this report:

Me- J, 27.. My first disney trip was in 2005.. yeah I know , right. Growing up, my family just never really had the money for Disney.... then for some reason, in 2005 Disney came up and I said sure, why not! I told him though, " I just don't think I'm going to get all worked up with the characters, I mean, I know they are just people"... WEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.. My first interaction was at the princess breakfast.. Let me just tell you... I almost cried when I saw the first one walk into the room! ... Hook,Line, and Sinker.. I was in love with Disney! haha

DH- K (Flanigan on here), will be 28 at trip time. He went to Disney a couple of times as a child so he already had the bug. When we went in 05, it was almost like the first time again for him since so much had changed. He loves that I'm hooked.

Hi! I just started my 2nd pre trip report too I'm first on yours!!! Yay!

We have been hooked ever since our first visit in 2003 too ~ everyone who knows us knows we go every year. Us and WDW go together like pb&j. Our license plate even says DSNYWRLD !!!!

How neat you get to get in for free and stay for free with your family! Now maybe you can go more than once a year?

I can't wait to read more about your plans. Where are you driving from?

We're in Knoxville, TN.. I think it's about a 10 hour drive.. Not too bad.

As of right now, we average once a year due to other vacations.. but I'd love to be able to go more.. If the airline prices ever drop, it may be an option.

What day are you leaving? Your countdown says 1 month, 2 weeks, 6 days...ours is 1 month, 3 weeks...we're leaving the 26th. We have a 10 hour drive also

We are driving down Thursday night, 9/25 so we'll be there at the same time! LOL

We're meeting up with our close friends (that live in ID) Friday or Sat..they are leaving Disney on 9/28

I'm doing a first ever PTR as well; it's so exciting to be able to tell everyone about it - I feel like I might burst! It's good to hear about other people who are just as hyper!! Only 5 weeks and 5 days till ours!!! POFQ here we come!

Kev and E (with us back in 2006!... wow.. we've changed alot).. They will be down there a week before us, but we'll be able to hang out with them for a day or two before they have to go back home! We have so much fun with them. They live ACROSS the world.. (well, ok.. not THE world... more like the country) from us..

MIL and SFIL
They are the reason we get this for FREE!! So for them!!!
We have a good time with them.


Others may make an appearence, but these are the main supporting ones!

Hello all, just thought I'd drop in and say hi. Hard to believe that after just coming back from vacation we're headed to Disney in less than 2 months.

Just to take up some extra room and ramble a little... we've just gotten back from our first trip to the Outer Banks. We had a great time spending a week at the beach more on that later... on to DISNEY...

Just a small update... It's hard to do a PTR if you're not staying on property since we don't make solid plans anymore. But I'll update on anything Disney related.. and maybe post some past trip pictures while I wait 50 more days!

So I bought this bag for our beach trip last week and of course I'll be bringing it down with us..using as a road trip bag packed with snacks and maybe use it for the beach if we end up going one day...

what do you think about it? It's HUGE!!

We're borrowing my mom and step dad's GPS so that will make it easier for us to drive down without having to look at a map or printed directions.. We're saving change for tolls....
Since this is the first time driving, any other suggestions for us?
