wow..... that pattern would be cute undies hhahaha

So we finally finalized when we will be leaving.... This will be our first time :drive: so I'm excited and already worn out when I think about it.
I was able to get a half day off on Thursday 9/25 so I'll be home by 12:15 (hopefully) and we PLAN to be on the road at 12:30 the latest.

Last night on the way home from Memphis, we came up a plan. We are going to pack water and Neurofuel (good for you energy drink) for beverages.. For food we'll be bringing mainly "snacky" type things : Little boxes of cereal, special K meal bars, cheese its, wheat thins, string cheese, nuts. We plan to drive on through, not stopping for food, only gas and potty breaks! Knick's car can go far on a tank of gas (thank goodness!!) so we think we'll only need to fill up twice at the most!!!

Here's the route:

It says 9 hours 41 mins... So if we leave at 12:30 pm, and plan on 15 min per stop for gas....**SIDENOTE: and we're TRYING to plan to stop only 2-3 times.. (---maybe we should bring diapers.. :lmao: ... be like that crazy astronaut that was caught trying to kill her other coworker. .remember that??) END SIDENOTE** Our ETA will be 10:30 (ish) pm... I'll update our ETA as it gets closer.. do some tweaking..etc..
Our GPS system has a ETA and Knick likes to try to get a "low score" on it..with driving safely of course......:rolleyes1 ..

So that's it for right now!
I love making small plans for it.. Makes me :cool1:

yeah, I wonder how often Kn will want to do that!.. I think when he gets into the zone, he normally wants to just GET there, but we've never driven that long of a drive, actually driving it at least. (we went to the outerbanks 2 weeks ago and we just rode in the backseat, but that was over 9 hours).

Ok this is a really stupid question... but how do I change my title???

thanks

Did you think of a cute title?

You click on Edit, then Go Advanced. That takes you to where you can change your title. Also, I don't know if you know how to or not, but I can send you info about making links too. LMK :)

I think it's cute.. I switched it from will our marriage to will we. lol.. I know our marriage will...

I think I know how to do the links.. I haven't had time to link them yet. Thanks for the help!

Yea, I'm sure we can get a lower time of arrival when we drive down. We'll just have to see what we can do. We'll just get the music going and :drive: like the wind.

I'll look at those sites, thanks!
If we leave around 12:30, we'll get to Atlanta around 3, 3:30.. Is there normally a lot of traffic at that time? I figured closer to rush hour would be bad, but we should be ok around the 3 oclock time..

Thanks again!

Traffic.com says if we leave our house at 12:31pm it'll take this long...

I'm thinking we can probably do a little better, but we'll see...

So we have one day of our tripped figured out... Kind of... lol

Friday we'll be meeting up with K and E!!!:cool1: We haven't seen them since Feb so I am very, very excited!!!

Don't know which park yet, but we'll be with them and that's all that matters!

E-I'll let you know when we finally decide what park...

Can't wait to see you in 5 weeks!!!!!!

Not much of an update, I know.. sorry.. it's all I have now ;)

Per www.fuelcostcalculator.com This is what it'll take us to get to Orlando...
Code:
Start City:	TN, Knoxville
End City:	FL, Orlando
One-Way Trip:	651	Miles
Gallons Used:	18.08
Fuel Cost:	$65.21
Considering a 14gal tank, looks like we'll need to stop to get gas before getting down there. I figured we'd need to. It'll be interesting to see how accurate this is as far as cost.

Wow, how many miles a gallon do you guys get?

In Jan. I actually kept all of our gas receipts and it cost us $250.00 in gas to go there and back, inc. a tank we used while there that week and a half.

We do have a Toyota Sienna though, and it only gets about 17 mpg.

Okay ~ just went to that website and did ours ~ here it is!

Results

End City: FL, Orlando

One-Way Trip: 583 Miles
24.29 Gallons Used

So, that sounds about right last time, $250.00.

Thanks for the link :):):)

10 hours??? phew... We've gone there several times from NJ... 1100 miles each way... going down in Nov. We usually drive about 600 miles first stop in NC and then nice and early head down the next day. Last trip, we actually left in the late afternoon, stopped once in VA/NC border, then a 2nd time in the GA/FL border, getting to Orlando at 10am. (we might do this again this year).

Gas prices are high, but when you consider ticket prices and the convenience of having a car down there (even when you stay on property) still doesn't beat it.

However, I would not leave that late. I'd leave as early as possible so you can rest when you get there at get up and early.

Good luck...

Thanks!
We're leaving that late due to me having to work half a day but I'll be sneaking out a little earlier than 12. Even if we get there around 11pm , that's not really late for us. We're used to traveling at night and having to get up early the next morning.

You're welcome! My DH is good about finding sites like that! lol We drive a hyundai elentra and we've gotten up to 34 mpg on the highway! Crazy! lol So I'm curious to see what our average will be for that!

Wow, where has the time gone?! I can't believe we're leaving this Thursday! I'm planning on sneaking out of work a little earlier than planned on Thursday..so we can get on the road sooner!! and HOPEFULLY miss Atlanta's traffic!

Our friends, K and E, are already in WDW. E sent me a txt of main street!! I am so jealous that they are already there, but I know soon it will be our time.

This weekend is just full of cleaning around the apartment and packing; checking each list!(one of my favorite things to do actually).

When we are down there, I'm going to TRY and do a "live" report! I can update at the parks and when we get back to my MIL's house, I can add in the pics!
Maybe that will get me more readers, who knows? lol

Well, back to packing!
