I've only been to DLP once before and that was in Easter holidays 2008. The park was really busy so we had to make the most of our EMH to make sure we got the most out of our trip.
This time we are going on 24th September so not in kids holidays, I'm just wondering if we will need the EMH if the park is going to be very quiet?
It probably sounds silly wondering about this 5 months before our trip! :)

Also I haven't seen many reviews about rainforest cafe, we love the one in London so were considering having one of our meals there but if it isn't as good as the London one we won't bother!

Hope someone can help! :thumbsup2

I haven't beent to the rainforest cafe in London, but I did like the one in DLP (service wasn't particularly fast, but the food was good and the theme is wonderful).

You probably won't need EMH midweek in mid-September, but with a little one it might be easier for Dumbo and the teacups etc, as there would be no queues in the first hour of EMH (and Dumbo always gets queues in main park time, regardless of how quiet the parks are).

When my DD was younger (ie aged 5 to around 9) we'd always do EMH, religiously. Now she's older and we can do the Fantasyland rides in the evening (Dumbo and the teacups are lovely in the dark) we don't bother with EMH really.

Maybe you could miss EMH on your first full day, and see if you can still get on the rides you want to with no problems in the main park day?

We went during a very quiet January last time, but still adored EMH as it meant we could get photos of just us on Main Street.

It's priceless to have the park to yourself like that, and for everything to be a walk on. :)

I don't anticipate our upcoming trip to be too busy, but we'll still be doing EMH definitely.

We ate here on our recent trip and LOVED it! It was the best meal of our whole stay. The food was great and the themeing was amazing :thumbsup2 I much preferred it to the London one!

I agree with the comments about EMH, I do wish maybe one or two more rides would be included but it's still good for little one's and photo opportunities.

We haven't eaten at the Rainforest cafe at DLRP, have done at WDW, it isn't cheap though. I would check out the menu & prices before making your minds up about whether to go.

Another who does EMH as we have young children and it is worth it to do Peter Pan and Dumbo etc without queues. We have been at the time you are going in 2008 and the parks, while relatively quiet, still had queues for more popular rides during the day, although not long in most cases.

Sometimes a queue forms because a ride is slow loading, not because there are necessarily lots of people there.

I have a photo of our first trip on Main Street with DH and my oldest Daughter walking along in front of me towards the Castle on our first day on EMH and there is literally no-one else around - magical :wizard:.

I would do as Elaine suggests - try it out, you don't need to do it every day and I'm fairly sure some days we didn't get out until around 9 am and still found it manageable.

Re Rainforest Cafe, we ate there in 2008, so some time ago, but did eat in the Piccadilly one last year and found it better than the DLRP one. But, like I said, it was 2008 when we ate at DLRP, so not a fair comparison. I think for the reasons Elaine stated, we seemed to wait ages for our food at DLRP but not London and our waitress in London was much more friendly. Theming was fairly similar I thought.

Thanks everybody for your help, I think we will probably try and make the most of our EMH- grumpy tired children and husband permitting! :rotfl:
I really want to see dreams more than once so we may have to enjoy some afternoon naps!
There are far too many restaurants to choose from and I'm struggling to decide on only 4, I think we will probably go to rainforest cafe as I do enjoy a few cheeky cocktails! ;)

We'll be having an afternoon nap everyday, and we're just two adults!

We're probably going to go into the parks at 8am, stay until 9/9.30am, head back for breakfast, then back to the parks until the afternoon, then have a couple of hours nap time, then some dinner and back in for the evening.

I couldn't last 8am-11pm, and I don't want to miss EMH or Dreams, so it's gonig to be a tiring 4 days!

We want to do EMH and dreams and will be having afternoon naps too (assuming I can persuade the kids to sleep, I don't think DH and I will have any problems :rotfl2:) We try to get on dumbo and orbitron during EMH as our priority as they don't have fastpass and always have queues during the main day.:goodvibes
