Will we love or hate QSDP?

I have gone to WDW twice this year and I really want to go again :lmao:! I might be able to swing it if we do the QSDP. Both times we did the DDP and loved it. If we go qsdp we would miss some of our favorite ts like ohana, and boma, but WGPE is great and love EOS too. Do you think we would get bored eating only CS? To make the trip work, we wouldn't rent a car either so wouldn't have the flexibility of driving. What do you think, could we be happy?

I'm doing the QSDP for the first time this December. Since I'm traveling solo, I couldn't justify eating at table-service restaurants by myself every day (although I am making an exception for Jiko to celebrate my birthday). I have planned out my itinerary based on the park hours, EMM and EME hours, and MVMCP the night I am going, and have checked out the menus here to see what looks good, and have come up with this schedule for me that, I think, gives a good variety of food and places to eat:

12/6 arrive in early afternoon. lunch at Artist's Pallete at SSR, dinner at DHS (either Studio Catering Co. or Backlot Express).

12/7 breakfast with snack credits at DAK at Kusafiri, lunch at Yak & Yeti counter service, dinner in Epcot at Yakitori House.

12/8 breakfast with snack credits at Starring Rolls Bakery in DHS (gotta get me one of those Butterfinger cupcakes!), late lunch at the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort. MVMCP that evening, so hot cocoa and cookies, and maybe a snack credit item somewhere (like that Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow!).

12/9 Epcot breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, lunch at Yorkshire Fish n' Chips, dinner OOP at Jiko at AKL.

12/10 breakfast at Artist's Pallette at SSR, MK for the day with a snack or two, then to either Epcot or DHS for the evening with a CS dinner wherever I am.

12/11 breakfast at Artist's Pallette, grab any remaining snacks to pack for the trip home, then to the airport.

I think it will be a good variety, and it's nice not having to plan my whole trip around my ADRs this time; reminds me of the good old days! :thumbsup2

We stayed a few nights at SSR in September and did the QSDP. We prefer sit down at least once a day. But there are so many choices we were not very concerned.
We did have one sit down OOP at Kouzzina for breakfast.
And I think there was more waste of food or leftovers by us on QS than the regular DDP.
It was nice to be more flexible about eating wherever and whenever we wanted.

We have a QSDP two night trip planned again. And we look at it as a plus we are staying at CSR. The Pepper Market has pretty good selections for quick service.

Although I do have two OOP sit down for breakfasts planned. Figured if we have left over counter service, we will get a few sandwiches to take home at EoS.

We can't wait to try out the free QSDP on our Turkey trip!!! We generally don't eat at many TS places so it should fit our touring style. We do have one ADR and will pay OOP. We can't wait to try out some new CS places.

I would say go with the QSDP.
There is a lot of variety, it is not just burgers and chips.

I thought about it a lot and decided I was better off getting the QSDP and paying out of pocket for the one or two TS restaurants I really wanted.

I also knew that if I got the DDP I would end up getting a glass of wine and an app at most meals as well as the cost of the tip and that all adds up.

I also like the idea of not having to know what park I will be in on what three months from now.

Thanks for all the replies. If I can swing it, the trip would be me, my 14 yo DS, my 9 yo DD and me. My DH isn't a WDW fan :confused3:. Last Jan, my kids and I stayed deluxe at the Poly, and it was great. But this trip, no can do. So I am thinking CBR (only mod avail during our timeframe) and now QSDP. My 14yo has hollow legs (meaning he can eat) and likes to have steak dinners. We have eaten before at Pepper Market and know you can get a steak there - but we wont have a car, so again, wondering if this is gonna work. Oh, why can't I just win the lottery:rotfl:!!!

I did it last year....and loved it! I loved the flexibility of not having to be at an ADR! Also, I stayed at CSR, and pepper market is the best QS place on property IMO. Feels like TS food quality. Also, make sure you go online and read the menus before hand so you will know what is available. I had already planned which days I would be at which parks. So, I read the menus for those parks (plus surrounding resorts), and wrote down my top several for each day. Then I would decide what I wanted that day. It really is amazing how much variety there is! I think DHS is the most limited QS, so I planned on burgers / sandwich that day, but I don't think I had another one the entire rest of my trip...and I was there for 10 days! Epcot, of course has the most selection. Good luck and I hope you like it!

DH always likes the salmon and eggs in Norway too. That was our intention last time on the QS to go there. But just never made it. Their salmon is Gravlox. (Scandinavian name for salt-cured salmon, which is not cooked.)
And it's hard to beat the Norway bakery. :)

I hear you about the Norway Bakery, it's great! Wish we could stay CSR, as staying there would answer my question about the QSDP, but its not avail, now matter how I try to redo our dates:scared1:! We really do like table service, but its not in the budget now, and going quick service would give us the chance to go back. I'm starting to think it won't be too bad. I wish we could stay at a resort that has boat service to DTD, but nothing avail for our dates and price range. Hopefully CBR isn't too far from DTD by bus???
