Will we freeze our tushies off the 1st week of February?

It'll just be two adults going so swimming won't be important. I just don't want to freeze at Epcot in the evenings, etc. What about rain, does it rain a lot in February?

It depends....

We have gone in early February and had lovely weather in the 60s-70s during the day. We have also FROZEN in February with temps in the 40s during the day. They tell me these cold snaps are rare - but we always manage to hit them....LOL!!

Take your mittens & hats - just in case.

Sending wishes for warm sunny weather your way!

We always go in early Feb. We have had hot weather in the 80's and also cooler weather where you need a jacket. We usually have very little rain. We love this time of year because it is LOTS warmer than northern Illinois and there are NO LINES. Plus if you go before Pres Day you are in value season and the rates are great.

We went the last week of Jan 2002- balmy weather (upper 70's and lower 80's), no rain, no crowds. We swam every evening at the resort pool- beautiful!

We have gone every late Jan/early Feb. for the past 4 years and have always lucked out with the weather. It does get a bit chilly in the evenings, so, bring a jacket. I have also become a weather junkie during the weeks previous to our trip. I watch the weather and adjust accordingly.
I have yet to freeze my tushie off. :)

Sounds encouraging! I know lots of folks on these boards think this is weird, but for the last couple trips I've gone by the Farmer's Almanac and have had good luck. But, I've never paid much attention to February in the past and I haven't seen the new almanac out yet.

You can get the entire range down here in February. Hot to cold, dry to several days of rain. Florida weather is influenced by many factors being between two large bodies of water. It is the month most of us look forward to down here, but I have gotten sunburned playing golf one day and wearing a sweatshirt the next. The bonus is the recovery is much faster here then back home in Illinois. Here it can be frost on the grass when you get up and 60 by 10:00 AM.

Will you be there the first week of February 2004? I'd love to meet you! You've always sounded like my kinda gal! Oh, and glad your tushie is still intact!LOL

I'll be there! Let's all wish for warm weather together! (No tushie freezing for me, thank you! -- Though, being from PA, just about anything would feel warm at that time of year!) :p

Take layers of clothing.

Be sure to wear extra clothing at night.

Beware of sunny days when the wind is blowing from the north! Colder than it looks

You might! We were there during the cold spell in January this year, and it was cold (especially by Florida standards!). One morning, it was actually warmer inside the tunnel to Ice Station Cool than it was outside! One advantage - the parks were very quiet! As other posters have stated, I would be prepared for a wide range of temperatures (think layers!!). February is one of the driest months, so while you can never say never in Florida when it comes to rain, the odds of dry weather are very good.

The probability is very high!!! I love it there in Feb. Meeting would be great. I will keep you posted as the time draws closer.

My mother and I were there this past February 2-8. It did get pretty cold, especially one evening around the lagoon at Epcot. We could tell where people were from during this trip. Whoever hailed from warm climates (like us) had on long pants and jackets (I even bought a pair of WDW fleece gloves!), and whoever lived where it gets cold in the winter had on shorts, sandals, short sleeves, etc. It was kind of humorous. Despite staying at an All-Star Resort (okay but not our favorites) this was our favorite trip of the 4 we were able to take with our annual passes. We've decided that we must have had much more energy and stamina because of the lower temperatures and humidity.

We were there at the same time 2/1-2/8. I found that it could be chilly, but, I would not define it as cold, but, there again, you are TX and I am CT. :) I did wear my warmup suit a couple of times for Illuminations. :)

DH and I lived in Orlando for 5 years quite a while back. The first winter (before becoming acclimated to the weather) we wore shorts and short-sleeved shirts all winter. We were laughing at those in coats -- and they were probably making fun of us as well! We spent Christmas eve and DH's birthday (Feb 6) at the beach!

By our second winter, we were wearing jackets along with everyone else!

After many years back here in PA, I figure it will have to be pretty cold for us to feel it. :smooth:

By the way, I'll be sure to put some lime green ribbons on the stroller, along with my Home Depot mickey head, and the lime green button Merriweather made for me!

So be on the lookout! :p
