Will WDW extend the FROZEN Summer Fun? What do YOU think?

I really, really, really hope so!

We are going 3 days too late!

I am seriously considering rescheduling our trip but think that is a drastic measure!

What do you think? What would you do?

If it is really successful will they continue it?

Do you think they will stop it during MNSSHP, even though that technically begins on 9/1 too?

HELP! I am freaking out over here!

I would love to hear some valid rumors....getting a mixed bag of answers from various sites and general comments.

I hope not. I don't want DHS to becom a full time Frozen festival every single day. But I can't see it continuing into the holiday season, at least not in its full form. For example, the show might stay.

Have they extended events like this in the past? ie, Star Wars weekends, Villians events, Food and Wine, etc... ? I think that may be your best way of determining whether this might be extended and unfortunately, I'm not coming up with any examples of previous events that were extended.

Grammatically speaking - very true....HOWEVER....

From what I gather there are a lot of Disney bloggers and other "experts" that get the skinny before the general public. That is why I READ this site! There are some "blood, sweat, and tears" Disney die-hards out there!!!

The Entertainment CMs are completing their auditions for the Frozen events this week and this is the same pool of CMs who are cast in MNSSHP and then MVMCP. The odds of Frozen being extended are not looking very good.

An extra weekend was added to SWW this year, an extra week for Food & Wine. The whole thing COULD be extended but probably not for the entire year or anything. Parts of it stand a chance of being made permanent or at least semi-permanent but not all of it.

An additional week would certainly help the OP as she's only missing it by a 3 days.

Yes...but these events (SWW and Food & Wine) have been going on for years and they are extending them this year because they know it'll draw more people. they didn't wait until after the 2014 SWW started and then said "Hey, we're going to throw in an extra weekend" they planned for it beforehand. Frozen Festival or whatever is here for the first time. If they bring it back next year it might be for a longer time...but I think it's less likely that they will add on time to this year's event for the sole reason that scheduling for whatever comes after it will not be easy to change. At least not the full event. I do think there is an outside chance they might keep at least the show if it proves really popular.

Last year they had that Villains event that had Studios bursting at the seams, but they still didn't add an extra night to it, for example.

I can't tell the OP that she ought to count on its being extended. It's way too early to tell right now. I think she may be trying to decide on whether or not to change trip dates, and she can't wait a really long time to do that.

I'd take what Itinkso as about as close to gospel as possible. She's about as close to the "entertainment CM industry" as you can get without actually being an entertainment CM.

And as for the original question...no, I don't think they'll extend it. I think this is simply a trial run, and as noted, the CMs who are going to be doing the entertaining are the same ones who will be engaged for party season. I see this as a test run, and I'd expect to see the same thing next summer but in a more expanded manner. There would be no reason to extend it beyond Labor Day, as I do think a big part of the motivation is to pull crowds away from the MK during the busy summer season.

I don't think they will extend it - they have done other 'summer' added events and they usually don't even last until Sept (we usually just miss them in late August).
Pure and simple I think this is WDW taking a small hit on USF just days before the grand opening of Diagon Alley - and maybe hoping to lure some USF guests over to DHS for a day. I won't be at all surprised if this is covered on ABCs GMA for media coverage.
Not a dumb move. - and DGrd10 will LOVE it! - just realized our 1/2 day at DHS most likely just became a full day - I even doubled checked to make sure my FP+s didn't conflict with the 11 AM Frozen show.

This is far more about encouraging guests who might otherwise spend multiple days at MK in high summer to go spend a whole day at DHS than it is about anything to do with Diagon Alley.

I'd think the number of folks who are already scheduled to visit Diagon Alley won't cancel that so they can hit Frozen.

Most guests aren't planning for Universal exclusively - but they might throw in an extra day for the mouse, 3 days instead of 2 for example.

It's working. I also saw somebody state they were now planning to spend two days at DHS instead of not going there at all.

I personally don't think they'll be extending it, simply just due to staffing.
They need their CM's for their halloween parties (parade, stage show, dance parties, extra characters, longer hours, etc) not to mention all the rehearsals for christmas are in swing by september, they can't spread them too thin!

That's just my speculation though.

This will be my daughter's first trip to Disney and like every little girl out there...she is crazy about Frozen. I think that the fireworks would be beautiful!

As it is her first time, she will think that everything is wonderful, as she has no baseline!

This will be our little secret.

Oh well.
