Will Tiffins survive?

Also, I don't think Tiffin's is any slower than Skippers was when it started out. That's held on. And between the 2, I know which one I'll go back to. While Skippers was ok, it was not wonderful. Tiffin's is. Considering the other options for dining at AK, it's a huge improvement. TH is good but everything starts to taste the same to me after a few bites

We have it on our upcoming trip so I hope it is good.

Most of the time I hear it callled a hidden gem.

They made LeCellier a 2 credit without changing anything other than the prices. No reason that they can't flip it here and lower the prices to make the place 1 credit.
r

Le Cellier was 2 credits , then 1 and barrack too 2. Crazy right!!!

I hope Tiffins survives.

Zough is a spice blend, and a hot sauce popular in Yemen.

Crudo is raw fish. Like sushi, without the rice. Usually with a sauce or oil for flavor.

Our group of 8 dined at Tiffins last week for lunch. Most of us used the "Taste of Tiffins" option. They sort of hid that. We were not initially given that menu...I had to ask. We really enjoyed most of the food there (not the octopus. Flying Fish did this better).

Anyway, we have heard from people (social media, cast members, etc) that it is not bringing in the crowds. It was rather empty when we were there. It is right near where you would enter Pandora, and is otherwise off the beaten path.

My question is...will they survive until Pandora opens?

As probably has been said in this thread, I've not read down through it, but IMO, it's success is contingent upon the success of the River of Lights and the parks success in becoming a night time destination.

I agree with you. The upside is that this restaurant should have some time to get organized and work out any glitches. The downside is that it may be hard if the restaurant has metrics that cannot be met without evening entertainment in DAK>

I did get a chance to check out Tiffins.

I tried the Fish Tacos, Grilled Octopus and the bread service.

Fish tacos were very good...but very small.
Grilled octopus...also very small...but one of the best things I've eaten in Disney in a long time - would get it again.
Bread service - would not get that again - bread was not particularly fresh

The mixed drinks are way too sweet...the staff will tell you this...they need much better balance..and more alcohol.
They are more than willing to remake drinks of give you something else...but it will still be too sweet unless you buy an extra shot.
The house beer is a spiced beer made by Sam Adams - ask for a sample and get something else - it was not easy to get through a pint of it although it tasted good in the sample.

I did not know exactly where this place was and even though I was looking for it I had a tough time finding this place...that is not going to help them at all.

I spoke the a few of the staff and they all seemed pretty stressed...several have already left.
They know that they are going to very well once the new area opens...but it is a tough road until then and they are not letting them work at other locations.

My husband and I really enjoyed Tiffins and the nomad lounge.

First visit we had cocktails and the bread service in the lounge. Very relaxing and enjoyable. We moved to the restaurant for dinner. We both started with the lobster soup which we enjoyed. My husband had the pork for his meal and I had the halibut. Both very good. We also had a bottle of wine. Very approachable wine list.

A few days later we went to the nomad lounge for a few glasses of wine. We had the sliders. Very good. Two nice size. Made for a good snack. The lounge is a great place to kick back and relax out of the heat!

Just made a reservation for Tiffins since the DAK park hours for December were extended until 7PM so I made a 6:55 ressie. Very excited to try it!

When did Tiffins open? 2016 is the first year since 2004 that I didn't go to WDW, I hate feeling out of the loop! :rotfl:

Enlighten me on this "taste of Tiffin's" menu please. First I heard of it and we travel in a month. Might go ahead and change a Yak for a Tiff if it makes sense. I take it that it is small plates, but need more info. TIA

"Change a Yak for a Tiff" - sounds either naughty or nasty.:smooth:

I wished it was more of a casual dining. We didnt even bother to look at it while on our recent trip.

I think there was already plenty of casual dinning in AK and they really did need something more - I do think going Signature (2 Credits) may not have been the best choice - but they are producing some quality food.

sure another sit down is nice but it doesnt have to be so pricey.

I am not sure I agree with this. I think every park should have at least one signature dining experience available. They are all pricey, but I am willing to pay for a good meal. DAK have several TS options available for those who choose to avoid a signature restaurant, but nothing for those who wanted a different experience.

It's worth it. I wasn't sold on it and didn't really have any intention on going, but my sister and I decided we wanted one 2-credit meal during our last trip (free dining is just too much food) and went for it. It was so good we're planning on going again next trip.

I am dong the same thing in December. I think that there can be dining options in all price ranges on the property.

I went with two friends in September and it was empty, perhaps only three other tables were being used. We had the cheese plate, bread service, the Halibut, the lamb and the duck. It was all exceptionally good. I am looking forward to going agin this February with my family.

My only complaint was the staff. The place was empty and we walked in and asked for a table, the very snooty gentleman seating people looked us up and down and asked if we had looked at the menu before he would seat us and were we familiar with the prices. Did we know it was a 2TS credit? I said we are familiar with the menu and would be paying cash. We found much of the staff condescending. I can assure you that we were dressed appropriately for the restaurant.
