Hear me out on this and let me know if this will work or not.

I bought 175 points at the BWV two years ago. I felt that would be plenty. Like many of us I found out I needed or wanted, whatever you want to say, more points. At least 100 more and would be willing to add on 150 if possible. My use year is February and want the add-on to be somewhere (Jan-March) near that month to assist in banks and borrows. Now we all know that add-ons @ the BW are next to impossible to get so I was going to look for 300 points for sale, buy them and then sell my 175 points all on the secondary market. This way I get my extra points and all points would be the same use year. Does this make sense? Will DVC allow such a thing? Is this my best chance?
Your input is appreciated.

yes it does - but I would look for a 150 points add on (then you don't have the extra costs associated with selling yours). However I have only add on with Disney no resales yet.

Just voicing my agreement that I would look for the 150 point resale instead of having two closings etc.

We just did 150 point add-on at BWV with our same use year...September, which I am told is hard to get. You may want to call a timeshare dealer and let them know what you are after, then they will call if it becomes available. Most resales don't even make it to a post, they go to buyers on a waiting list.
Two contracts, same property and same use year are treated as one block of points for management, but can be sold seperately if needed. Thus, I agree with those above and would look for the add-on, 300 points would be hard to sale if you need to or split later.
We used Jaki at http://atimeshare.com and had a property that matched our wants in couple weeks.

I'm not sure this is true for contracts bought on the resale market. Anyone have 2 resale contracts for the same resort, the same use year that can answer for certain whether the points are treated totally together of separately?

Both of our BWV contracts are resale and this is what DVD told me, so hopefully it is true, that is why we waited for our use year to be available. We will confirm later this week we book a reservation.

I have two OKW resales, one with Disney and one through Timeshare. All have same use year. My contact numers are xxxx.0, xxxx.1 and xxxx.2. My total points are what I have to bank, borrow or use :).
