I think I figured out where we want to stay. Now, i just have to find out if it is doable:

4 nights at BC (no dpp) then
6 nights at the Poly, dpp for those 6 nights and 10 day park hopper (to use the nights at the BC)

Will they allow this?

With those two descriptions, I'm pretty sure you'd have to do the poly first to get the tickets.

You won't get your tickets until you check in at the Poly,so you'd have to do the package first.

Okay I *think* this is the reason you can't do that: To get the ddp you have to add it on to a myw package. If you do BC as a room only, and let's say you bought the tickets at a third party dealer and they are stand-alone tickets, you would have nothing to add the ddp to when you check in at Poly unless you bought a 1 day myw ticket, which is kind of pricy and then you would probably be better off paying for your food oop.

Does that make sense?

We did a split stay last year, we had ddp at Pop for 6 nigts with 8 day Park hoppers, then we switched to AKL for 2 nights. On the first day we still had ddp until midnight that night then it was gone since we switched hotels. It is tied to your number of nights, but has to be in combination with a park ticket.

Wow, my fingers are getting tired! I hope that helped. Just do Poly first or don't do ddp and do 2 room only reservations. Your tickets will transfer.

Thank you for all the replies!! I really thought I had it figured out, too. Back to the drawing board, I guess. So, I could do it if I did the poly first, with the ddp then over to BC and no dpp

OR I could do it and not do the ddp at all and just get my package of tickets with BC stay then over the remainder of the stay at the poly?

Yes and Yes! Now you're cookin'! Sounds like a great trip no matter which one you choose. About the ddp, we aren't big eaters and found that we over ate or wasted alot of food with the ddp. This time we chose not to purchase it and we saved $300! We are a family of 4 with 2 small kiddos that frequently share a meal and for 10 days it would have been $1000. We paid oop and only spent $700.

That is our big dilemna as well. We did it this year and we enjoyed the ease of it. But we wasted a few counter service and we were rushed on the last day to fit in a table service at Libery Tree for lunch just so we wouldn't waste a table service. I am really thinking of not doing it this year as they took off the tip. Me and my dd, 13, shared a lot of the time too. PLUS, we want to do more character buffets this time and when I figured it out, those aren't really worth it on the ddp, especially for breakfast, which we would do 2 or 3 of those.

So, maybe I will just do the 4 nights at BC, 10 day park hopper and 6 night at Poly with no ddp.

I agree about the DDP. Too much pressure that you HAVE to use all your credits.

One thing you could look into is buying an AP for one person in your party. With an AP you can purchase the DDE card that gets you 20% off your TS meals and beverages including alcohol.
An AP could get you a very good discount on your rooms too.

For example this summer we started with a package at the Poly (couldn't get an AP rate for that resort). I upgraded my ticket to an AP, and we used it to pay AP rate at the Boardwalk.
The difference between my ticket & the AP was $188.50
We got BWI at $218/night instead of $350, for 3 nights.

It was a great deal for us BUT discounts aren't guaranteeed, it depends on seasons, resorts, and you have to be flexible.

Thanks for the advise. Plus, I think we are going again in August of next year so many an AP would really be worth it.
