Scored Crystal Palace at 8:30 am, park opens at 9:00 am. I know we won't make RD but will we be early enough to get FP and get on Dumbo in a fairly quick fashion? How long should I plan on the breakfast? Is it worth it? We also have a dinner ressie at Garden Grille 3 days later for dinner, if I can only have 1 which is better? If it matters, we are going the week of Sept 18. Thanks so much!!!:)

We love CP breakfast! I'd say it takes about an hour. We usually get an 8:00 ADR and we're heading over to the rides at 9:00 or a few minutes after.

If you're done with breakfast at 9:30, you won't have any trouble grabbing a FP for a ride, but Dumbo will probably have a bit of a wait by then. Although in Sept the wait might not be too bad - I haven't been at that time of year in a very long time. If it's a day where there is morning EMH, you'll have more crowds by 9:30, but if it's a regular 9:00 opening, you should be fine.

Also, you might want to show up a little bit early for your ADR. You might be able to be seated earlier than 8:30. And, if not, you'd have some great opportunities for uncrowded pictures of the castle and Main St. There is usually a Photopass photographer at the end of Main St, so you could get some nice family photos.

We always get a 8am reservation to crystal palace whenever we go. We do love the crystal palace for breakfast but nothing beats walking down main street w/out all the people. It looks sooo different:cool2:

We went during that week last year. I think you'll be out of CP by 9:30 and you'll have to wait about 10 minutes in line at Dumbo.

If it's really important to eat at CP and enjoy a quiet/empty walk down Main Street - I'd keep the 8:30am.

However, I'm going to tell you to keep checking that date you scored the 8:30am on!!!

This happened to me twice now! Yesterday I grabbed an 8:30am for CP for Sept 25th. Not the ideal date as I would have to switch park days around, but was willing to do so as we really want to eat at CP. However, as I kept checking the available dates, I was able to change to 8:25am. And then 8:20am. And then finally 8:05am!!! I was thrilled!

Then this morning while doing my usual rounds, I came across an 8:30 am CP for the 20th. The best as THAT was the day I planned MK for! Within an hour, I was able to change it to 8:25, then 8:20 and then 8:05 am!

Seriously - 2 days in a row from 8:30 to 8:25 to 8:20 to 8:05 on 2 different days! :confused3 I don't know how or why, but I'm thrilled!

I cancelled the 8:05 on the 25th as I no longer had to change park days as of this morning. :cloud9:

Ok great, thanks for the input. DaniB (or anyone else who knows) when you change your ressie, do they let you have 2 ressies for slightly different times at the same place? What I mean is... if my CP ressie is at 8:30 and an 8:20 comes up, do I have to cancel the first before I book the second? Thanks!!!

The system will alert you that you have conflicting reservations and ask you if you want to go ahead and book (and thereby cancel your previous ressie). :goodvibes
