Will this get me on the naughty mat?

Seriously, yesterday when I left in the morning for school, it was 43 degrees!!! That's too cold for FL. Some more northern counties had it in the 20s.

That's us. I live in Tallahassee and it was 26 degrees yesterday morning. Everything was frosty and I didn't like it one bit when I took DS to school. I grew up mostly in the Keys and it didn't get cold there. This is as far north as I'm going in the winter!!!

I grew up in Bellingham, WA, so I know what type of weather you get. I mostly complain about the cold and the icy conditions. If there was some way to have the white stuff and 70 degrees, I would be happy. It's very pretty. Such as it is, it is still better than 5 months of constant drizzly wetness that isn't enough to qualify as rain, just makes everything mossy.

They get much more snow than us. I agree the wet, overcast stuff sucks!! Actualy its been very nice here. the sun is shining and everything. but its cold. Cant complain unless its all soggy. About feb i start feeling like im growing moss and getting moldy. :rotfl:

But thats why were are the evergreen state. :goodvibes

Keep that white stuff in CO. With DH out of commission with his arm, if we get sn@w, then it will be me who has to sn@w blow it. :scared1: I may just leave for South Beach and mojitos.

That picture could have been taken where I live too. We got 3" of white stuff last night. I hate sending DD17 driving to school when it happens. I know she is a good driver but I worry anyway.

I don't mind it. I would like a good 6-8inches so my kids can go can play. I figure it will wait to sn** until after DH leaves for 12 weeks of training -- that way I'll be stuck with the shoveling -- no driveway, but I live on a corner property and have 2 flights of steps to both the front and back doors.

Today is just super cold. I don't know what the overnight low was, but they were predicting sub-zero. It's currently 12 degrees, but the sun is out, so hopefully it will warm up.

Well that I definitely mind! I would just like one storm, temperatures in the upper 20's.

Believe it or not, we had some here 2 weeks ago....mind you it never made it to the ground but it lasted about 2 hours.

I gather that hopemax is in Colorado with me, as it was -5 on Thursday night with about 6 inches of the stuff, and it didn't get above 19 in Greeley on Friday. It was nice today tho!

Yes, I am in Thornton. I didn't know there was anyone else from CO on the board.

I didn't either originally, but there's even a Colorado DISers thread on the community board! Looks like it's 44 today, but I'm still not wanting to venture outside.

Please add me to the naughty mat. Or better yet send me to my room for the whole day! NO school today.

We're going to Seattle on Tuesday...it will be warmer here for the duration of our trip. Just as long as we can get in and out.

Wow! Warmer there. haha. Its been crazy, thats for sure.

Good luck getting here. I know they were talking about having problems at the airport due to not enough of the chemical to de-ice the planes and runways. something about a strike at the plant.

We are supposed to get hit a few more times before christmas. DD went out a little while ago and it was about 4 inches. It's starting to slow now. Hopefully and go away! I have stuff to do. You know how everything shuts down for snow.

Really? You guys had no school for that little snow? It was -15 here and they didn't close any of the schools in Colorado - plus we had about 8 inches of snow at the time. Wow. At least it's nicer this week here.

I, too, am from Colorado. Lived in Denver throughout high school. We moved to San Antonio 10 years ago, but will be moving back to the Denver area somewhere in 2 1/2 years when DS graduates HS. I miss all that white magic during the winter time. Our kids get excited when we have a frost here, or if the water on the garbage cans freezes. They "ain't seen nothin yet!"

Yuppers. they shut school down today too. it was only a half day before the winter break. But still the holiday parties will have to wait until after the new year.

It only does this a few times a year if that so we arent as equipped as places that get it all the time. There isnt nearly enough snow plows to clear the roads and highways. Let alone side streets and the such.

School is out today here. Nothing really substantial at this point but it's coming fast. I will post pics tomorrow.

I'm.feeling.closed.in.

Somebody

:rotfl: Bamb! Me too. We are on day two. I heard the roads are semi clear. the hardest part will be our driveway and the dirt road. I think so far its the only draw back to living in the woods. Gonna try to make it to the grocery store. We're getting low on milk and another wind storm is supposed to come through. :scared1: Maybe my christmas card pics will have been delieved by the time we get there. the baby is napping.
