I had no problems on the boat during our July 5 Western. I did take one Dramamine every morning just in case as I tend to get pretty sick on airplanes.

However, literally about 20 minutes after being off the boat at the end of the cruise, I got extremely nauseated. Drove 15 hours straight home (will DH drove - I couldn't keep my head up) because I just wanted to get HOME. It eased up the next day but has been ongoing since then. We got off the boat July 12, so its lasted a little more than two weeks. It is not severe now but I am still pretty uncomfortable, trouble eating, not wanting to do anything (only what is necessary). Is this normal - seasick after the fact - maybe landsick?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I had the same problems after our 4 night cruise. I had no idea what the problem was, but I was nauseated for well over a week from time to time. In talking to some other people, I found that, for what ever reason, your body will countinue to suffer from motion sickness. A girl I work with continued to wear her scop patch for a week after her cruise to help her out. You could try to take bonine or non-drowsy dramamine daily until it settles. Hope it goes away soon!

Have you been to the DR?
You could have an inner ear infection.(esp if you went swimming in the ocean or at CC)
Or, you could have a mild case of vertigo.
Hope you feel better soon

for about three days she was having vertigo problems. I'd check it out with MD. This seems like it's too long.

Let us know how you're doing.

At first reading this, I thought maybe someone was having a "little cruise souvenir" morning sickness.

I just heard that a friend of mine, and his wife, are expecting their "little cruise souvenir" in a few months!!!

Let's just say I would need to have a talk with a certain doctor. Anyway, I know that is not it but it does feel very similar to morning sickness - just that kinda mild to moderate yucky stomach feeling. NO dizziness though thankfully. I'm going to go back on the Dramamine and cut it back slowly. Maybe that will work.

Best of luck to you!!!

I'm not letting my DW read this thread, or she will convince herself, that she is also going to be sick after getting off the ship.

it may be "cruise withdrawal"... I'd have it checked out as soon as possible!!

I would try ginger capsules. My dm had this after a cruise one time.Dr said it would eventually pass as it was vertigo but the ginger definately works. My dgm suffers from vertigo from any long term motion and she swears by ginger, although she does the powder in a drink (YUK).Not a health food person myself but it is worth a try.

It is very normal to have "sea legs" after being on a ship for a long period of time. We just got back and have been feeling (at various times) like we're still on the boat. I think it affects everyone differently (mild to severe) and could also be vertigo. Once before, a doctor recommended to continue taking the bonine for a little while longer. They also prescribe bonine for vertigo.

Hope you feel better soon....maybe you also have a bug as the way it hit you seems too sudden to be sea legs...it usually is sporadic and short lived...and not so soon from leaving the ship.

jeanny - you took the words right out of my mouth. I know Amy had such a good time on board, that she probably is Home Sick.

Amy - as far as the other suggestion goes, what was Jesse REALLY waiting for you for the night of the dessert buffet?

I usually feel wierd for one to two weeks after the cruise. I take dramimine every day on the cruise and since we went to WDW afterwards I continued to take the meds. I was completely over the "post cruise feeling of motion" about 10 afterwards.

This is no joke, I would get a temporary relief from "that motion feeling" after riding Tower Of Tower. About an hour after riding the rocking feeling would return. None of the other rides seemed to have the same effect on me. Instead of a FastPass I needed a doctors note prescribing TOT as a remedy.

Hi everyone!

I'm feeling much better today, so maybe it is finally passing. Only time I feel sick now is right after eating.
