We haven't been to AK since 2008! I made my FP+ selections this morning (30 days out) and have a rough itinerary planned. Date is Monday May 4th, party is me, dh, ds15, dd12, dd8. My family just cannot make it to rope drop EVER, I just don't bother trying anymore, my DH and DS drag their butts out the door so I am happy to make it to the park by 11:00. We just do late nights instead. Crowd level 5, AK is second recommended park. Hours 9-7.

10:30-11:00- arrive at AK, if we have time before first FP, watch TTBAB, walk discovery trails, take pics, etc
10:45-11:45- Safari FP,
11:45-12:45-walk pangani trail, go to Rafiki's planet watch if time allows (how long should we plan for this? is 60-90min doable?) If we catch the safari closer to 11:00 would we have time to both these activities before 12:45? If time is tight I will drop Rafiki's
1:00-1:30- Festival of the Lion King
1:45-2:10- Flights of Wonder
2:05-3:05- Kali FP, plan on riding after FOW and then walking Maharajah trail
3:10-4:10- Evert FP, plan on riding near beginning of FP window
4:00-4:40- Nemo
4:40-6:00- Dino land, hoping the park will start to empty out by this point and we can quickly go through Dinosaur, Primeval whirl
6:00-6:45- Catch TTBAB if we didn't see in AM, go to adventures outpost and meet Mickey and Minnie (hoping for little wait time at this time), ride everest a time or two more if time allows
6:45-7:00- go to Yak and Yeti TS, we a laundry's select card for priority seating no reservation, Rainforest Cafe is backup plan

After dinner we plan on hitting up MK since it's open until midnight (will have rental car). My kids will have no
problem staying up late (night owls). Next day is water park day. So is this AK plan doable, I want to hit as much of this list as I can but not be a drill sergeant either. I can change my FP around if you see something that might not work or see a better plan.

I'm not sure if you'll have time for Rafiki's - it will depend on when you're done with safari and how long you spend on the trail.

I think it will be a little tight getting from Lion King to Flights of Wonder, but you'll probably be ok.

We always do Kali at the very end of the day in case we get totally soaked. Since that's not an option for you, perhaps bring extra clothes and rent a locker. We have times where we've gotten a little wet or even moderately wet and we could deal with drying while walking around the park. But we've also ridden where we got so drenched that we looked like we went swimming with our clothes on.

Good points, I thought about the drenched factor as it's happened before to us not just on Kali but other rides at other parks. I am thinking mid day in May it should be hot enough for us to dry off walking around the park. I could pack extra clothes and just leave them in the car incase anyone wants to change but I think we should be fine. If we are cutting it to close I am willing to cut Rafiki's out.

I think you'll also need to play Maharajah by hear as well. That's easily a 30 min walk around. It could be 2:30 before you get on Kali, so riding, walking the trail, and getting to Everest early in the FP window so as to make Nemo could be really tight.
