Will they really split us up at CRT?

I made my ressies today for CRT on August 25th. She asked what time I wanted, and I said as early as possible. She said she had an 8:30am and a 9:20am, but she couldn't guarantee my party of 5 could sit together (2 adults, 3 kids). Is this just a super precautionary measure, or are they really going to split up my family? She said she can't even guarantee we will be on the same end of the restaurant. If it's a slim chance I will keep my reservation, otherwise, I think I will cancel. I don't want to pay $160 for breakfast to be separated like that. Or should I continue to call to try to get a table for 5 people- but I heard unless I want to pay for 6, they won't give a 6 top to 5 people? What do those of us with 5 do? :confused3

Have your 6th be a free infant? ;-) :-P

Keep calling...maybe something will open up.

Haha, not planning on bringing (or having!) a baby this August. Maybe I can borrow a random guest's baby for an hour? Not sure if it would be worth it though. :rotfl: And the guest may think I am wierd for asking....:lmao:

Dining CMs have been telling parties of 5 this ALOT lately. Some people have reported being at the same table, others at separate tables but next to each other and ,still others at opposite ends of the restaurant. The restaurants are pretty good about trying to keep families together or near each other, but there is no guarantee....:confused3

Usually when I make an ADR they say they'll have to split us, but we tend to have a party that's on the larger side (anywhere from 7-10 people). We've never been split up. :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've done seatings with 12 and 11 people and I've been told that we could be split up but that's never happened.

Here's what I would do. Keep the reservation. If you get there and your tables are too far apart that it's impossible for you to enjoy your breakfast, ask to speak to a manager and ask for your money back. For your party, you would have to have one adult with one child and one adult with two kids. That is just not acceptable. Disney should realize that but there is a slight chance they will miss it.

Thank you. I am definitely kind of upset about the thought of this. Why Disney is so unfriendly to families of 5 is beyond me- I don't understand why it would be too hard to push that 4 top and 2 top they can give us together. Or even make them side by side, or close enough we can be together. I have an 8:30am reservation, so I doubt they will get someone in and out before us? :confused3 It would just totally ruin it for me to pay $160 for breakfast and have to split up. It would be one thing my kids were older- but my kids don't even remember going to Disney last time- they are 8, 7, and 4. To be on the other side of the restaurant..omg, I would probably burst out in tears in the restaurant! Ok, maybe not that bad.....

Thanks for asking, I was wondering the same thing, as 2 of my ADRs the dining line CM told me to split, but we should be able to sit together. Both at Yak & Yeti and at Coral Reef. we are a party of 7, but the 7th is in a high chair. So hope fully we'll all get together!

OP, don't worry about it. I think they just need to say that. I have never had that happen to us and they have said it plenty. If you don't like the table they are offering you, I would wait until another table opens up. Have fun and don't stress.

I've been there with a party of 8 (two families - 2 adults and 2 kids in each family). I had a reservation for 8 people, but they did put us at two different tables. The two tables were right near each other and it was no big deal for us, as each family got a table. With a party of five that is all one family, I can't imagine that they would actually split you up.

We had a party of 5 at CRT earlier this month. At the time I made our ADR, they also told us we would be a separated. When I checked in, I asked if we could sit together and the response was "of course", like it was a no brainer. We ended up at a table for 6, but one of the end seats was pretty useless as there was highchair at the table beside us that made getting into that seat nearly impossible. I don't understand why Disney thinks any group would want to sit at separate tables. If they had split us up there would have been 3 at one table and 2 at the other. I can't say I've ever seen a table for three so I assume the group of three would have been seated at a table for 4 (leaving one extra seat...which is what we had at the table of six). I don't get it.:confused3
