Will they pack up our left overs?

I assume that you can get your left overs packed up if you can't finish them... I guess I am just hung up on the fact that we are in Disney. But if I am just heading back to the hotel to stick it in the fridge, I wouldn't see why not.
I am also wondering if CS will give you a to go box if we can't finish our meals. Maybe the key is to order it to go at a CS...

Does anyone take their leftovers at a TS or CS?

Thanks!

I never tried to take leftovers from a CS but I have done it at a TS without any problem at Disney.

As I am sure that you know not all hotel rooms have a fridge. It depends on which hotel/level you are staying.

I'm sure that the TS restaurants will be happy to provide you with a doggie bag but you will have to ASK for a container as the servers do not ask you if you want a box. The CS restaurants are a little more problematic as most of them are designed as an "eat in" kind of quick meal and not a "take away" type of meal. I know that I have had problems when I want to transport a meal from one CS restaurant to another for my vegetarian child. You should be able to get something to carry your left-over food back to the room, though. I'm not sure why you would want to save anything from a CS restaurant, though :lmao:.

Yes, you can ask to have your TS leftovers boxed. What I do when we're doing CS meals is make sure to bring a few gallon size ziploc bags in my backpack because I know that one of us (or all of us) won't be able to eat dessert and I can bag it and bring it back to the fridge. Those gallon bags are also good for transporting that horrible turkey leg at DHS that DH loves so much back to our room. :)

The only instance where it could be an issue is at a buffet or a TS that has an 'all you care to enjoy' menu item.

Generally it's no take out, but they have bent the rules under some circumstances.

We did that when we went to the Whispering Canyon. After a day of travel and a good dinner, dessert was not something I could eat. The server brought DH's out and brought my fruit plate out in a to go box. We went back to the hotel and DH had the fruit with breakfast the next morning. I have always found that everyone down there is always willing to accomodate your requests and do it with a smile!

How often do you anticipate needing to have your leftovers packed? As per previous posts, TS, not a problem. Buffet/family style - not allowed (or polite ;)).

We had no success with our request to order out CS to go on 2 occasions last year - once at Epcot where we wanted to get our spots for Illuminations and knew we wouldn't get anything to eat afterwards. We just weren't hungry at the time. They weren't unwilling, but didn't have anything to put it in. I always keep a few ziploc bags and a sealable plastic tub with me for DD's leftovers (grazer), but it certainly didn't have the capacity to fit an entire meal in it. I struggled with it for an hour or so, we picked a bit and it eventually went in the trash :guilty: ..... and we headed for DTD for food a few hours later when we were hungry.

Another option is if you think there will be too much food, maybe split meals between you. The idea of carrying leftover food around the parks is a bit less than appealing - unless you know you are going straight back to your resort anyway.

Thanks guys!

Like I said, I just was hung up on the whole dinner in the parks at disney. I always take my left overs home (if there is any) when we go out. So thanks for your experience.

We couldn't eat our dessert twice at WCC and they boxed it up for us.

We usually stay at an Epcot resort so it's very easy to take leftovers back to the room. I often order dessert to go from TS places in the WS and have never had them bat an eye.

We brought our desserts back with us a lot from CS and TS. Chef Mickey's gave me 3 cupcakes for my birthday/1st visits and we didn't eat them, so we brought them back to the room. We have had so many desserts in the fridge that we didn't eat at the end of the trip.

You can't pack up food from buffets as the pp said, but at sit-down restaurants, it's like any other restaurant.

But you are also able to eat them at home more easily. You'll have a fridge to keep any leftovers cool and will probably have a microwave available to heat them up, but will you have the time to eat them?

My sister was able to get a container for her leftovers from Cosmic Rays.

We also took our dessert from WCC last November. My dd raved about the corn on the cob so much the server had brought out a lot. She offered to let us take it but we refused as we knew we would never be able to eat it later either.:rotfl:

Thinking back to our first time at LeCellier, lol. We were still full from breakfast so we asked for to go boxes for my granddaughter's meal, our desserts & they even brought a whole order of that delish pretzel bread for us to take. We were heading back to the room anyway, but stopped at the exit to take a few pics. Granddaughter was carrying one of the bags & inadvertantly 'forgot' it when we left. All we wound up with when we got back to the room was a melted mousse & a melted chocolate whiskey cake, & some celery/carrot sticks. Not even a piece of that lovely pretzel bread
