Purchases 4 meals (2 reg and 2 from kids menu) without questioning me as to why since we only have 3 ppl on the plan? We are arriving late and will have two meals for that day that we probably won't use that day, so we'll have two extra that I figure we can use for my two year old at a time when we feel they may need more then a sharing of one kids meal.

You can do that. They do not limit how you use your meals. You could use them all up in one day if you like. There is no set limit or guidelines that say how many meals you have to use in a certain day. I hope this helps!

If you have three guests on the dining plan you are only supposed to be able to purchase three meals in one transaction. If you want more meals than that at once for your party you may have to purchase them separately.

You can use them to purchase multiple meals in one day at separate times though.

If there is only 3 of you on the plan then you can only purchase with your credits 3 meals at a time. But you can purchase 2 in one transaction and 2 in another right after each other.

Or this is how it has been explained to me...

Great, sounds like, if we decide we need to, I could send my mom through the line for her and my son and me use a separate transaction for my daughter and I. :) I don't get why it would matter, we are the same family booked together. Last trip I spent the last morning there in the gift shop buying snacks cause we had so many unused credits and I much rather put unused snacks/credits to a good use this time.

Because Disney doesn't allow you to use meal credits on anyone not on the plan. To enforce that, they do now let you use more credits then people on your reservation. Sometimes a person will get a CM who bends the rules a bit, but the rule is still there.

Right, but I would have been more than happy to include her on the plan, but they think, since she's 2, she isn't going to want to eat that much...But in reality, she eats twice more in a day than my 5 1/2 year old. And if I lied and said she was 3 then I'd have to pay for park tickets. She is on our reservation, it's not at all like I'm supplying friends or families booked separate. I can't see that they would rather me waste the food and it specifically says on the site that the credits are mine to use in any way or order. If they'll let a family of 3 use 18 credits in one day, why can't I use 7? No different than me eating my meal and still feeling hungry and going up to get another.

Anyways, I just wanted to know what the 'rules' were so I would be prepared. Thanks everyone! I guess we could use the extras on breakfast one day, but 3 full meals in one day is way to much for us, we'll figure it out.

The only way she couldhave her own dinner plan would be for you to put her down as a 3yo but then you will ahve to pay for park tickets also which is to your disadvantage.
